Lydia's P.O.V.

"Brayden, please could you cover my shift tonight? Hunter really isn't feeling well and I want to get back to him as soon as possible." I say quickly finishing up a blood test on a client who looked at me sympathetically, Brayden on the other hand was busy taking the temperature of another patient, "Brayden!"

He looked over at me slowly, "Fine, but tomorrow I have a date so I can't over tomorrow."

"I have a day off tomorrow, I might have to go to the Law Firm though but for that, I can take Hunter along." I said bandaging off the patient's arm, "All done, the reports will be sent over to your family doctor in a week."

"Thank you," The patient said before walking out of the room. Brayden turned around to look at me after he was done hooking up his patient on an IV.

"Aren't you going to ask me who I am taking on a date?" He asked jokingly 

Rolling my eyes I ask, "Who are you taking on a date Brayden?"

"Giana, the receptionist,"

A soft giggle left my mouth, "Good luck with that Brayden," Giana had a special ability to sleep with every eligible bachelor in the hospital and then not looking back. Don't get me wrong it's her body, her choice but a date? Giana never goes on a date.

Brayden crossed his arms, "She is the one who asked me okay? I didn't have the heart to reject her for the 10th time."

Raising my eyebrow I finish cleaning off the bed, "Then tenth time?"

"Believe it or not Dia, girls dig me. You are one exception that doesn't want anything to do with me."

I stop working, "Brayden..." I start but he shakes his head stopping me, 

"Forget I said that," He said quickly, he was about to leave the room but I grabbed his arm stopping him. 

"Brayden, listen." I said firmly, "You are an amazing friend, and I know you want to be more than in my life but I am not ready, I can't let anyone in like that anymore. I am not disregarding your feelings Brayden, I like you too, but more in a friendly way okay? And I am happy that you are finally putting yourself out there again, please don't wait for me."

Brayden sighed, "I shouldn't wait for you?"

"No," I whispered, "Move on,"

Brayden gave me a sad smile, "Your shift is about to end Dia, I think you should go home. I got your shift for the night."

Giving him an apologetic look I gently pat his shoulder before walking out of the room, grabbing my things I leave the building and rush to where Hunter was. It has been almost seven hours since I left him there, Aunt Majesty stopped replying to my text four hours ago so I have no idea if his fever died down or not, or if he stopped whining, taking a deep breath I try to get home as fast as I can so I can go see myself. 

Arriving at the house in thirty minutes I quickly unlock the door with the spare key Aunt May gave me when I moved into this house, "Hunter!" I called out smiling but I got no response, "Dimples, where are you?" I walked around the house looking for him panic began to set in, "Harvey? Aunt May? Uncle Noah? Valencia? Where is everyone?"

A couple of seconds later Aunt May came rushing out of her room along with Vallie, "Sorry Dia, everyone was taking a nap. She just woke up a couple of minutes ago.

Shaking my head I dismissed her apology pulling Vallie over to me as she clung to my legs "Is he down for a nap too?"

"Yeah," She said looking behind her suspiciously, "He is,"

"How was he?" 

"He was a little fussy after you left but I gave him some Advil to settle him down then gave him soup, and then Harvey and- I mean Harvey watched some Disney movies with him. Vallie and him fell asleep during it."

Curious I crossed my arms, "And who Aunt May?" Aunt May struggled to think of an answer, "And who?" I pressed, "Who else was around Hunter and Vallie?"

"Me," It was as if time had stopped, my heart had fallen to the pit of my stomach as I tried to keep my composure. I didn't want to turn around and face him, I didn't want to talk to him, I didn't want to be around him. Flynn noticed that I was moving from my spot so he moved to stand beside Aunt May, he had the stupid smirk planted on his face that he always has, "I was the one that was around Hunter and Vallie along with Harvey."

I wanted to scream, I wanted to hit him but I didn't, clenching my jaw I looked him dead in the eyes not wanting to show any emotions, and pushed past him as if he was never there, I ran upstairs to Hunter's old room, and there he was, I gently picked him up in my arms grabbing his bag that all his stuff in it and walked back downstairs. "Dia, why don't you stay for a while..." Aunt May said quietly she avoided my gaze as I gave her a pointed look. Vallie grabbed onto my hand as she saw me get angry.

"Yeah, Dia, why don't you stay for dinner?" Flynn cut in, not looking at him I pushed past him again, acting like he wasn't there like I hadn't heard anything, I walked out the door putting Hunter in his seat swiftly I got into my car and drove off to our apartment. 

"Momma," Vallie said quietly as we sped home,Hunter woke up as I unbuckled his seat belt after we arrived at our home, "Hey momma," He whispered nuzzling his head in my neck, 

Trying to calm my heartbeat down I whispered to him, "Hey Dimples," Carrying him inside our home I laid him down on the couch, "Momma is just going to change her clothes okay, you stay here and watch some cartoons." Vallie climbed up on the couch to sit with him sliding into the blanket cuddling next to him as I put cartoons on for them. Gently kissing their foreheads I leave them alone in the living room.

Flynn was back, F-Flynn was here...Hunter met Flynn, what did he say to him? How did Hunter react to him? Thousands of questions were swimming through my mind, but I didn't want to talk to anyone right now. For now, I had one plan and one plan only and that was to stay the fuck away from Flynn Cloud. 

"Momma?" Hunter called out for me, quickly removing my clothes I put on some comfy pajamas and walked outside planting a fake smile on my face, 

"Hey kiddos, hungry?"

"Yep," He said giggling, well he was feeling better as Vallie laid on his shoulder, "Can you make some noodles for us."

"Your wish is my command, my prince and princess," I say dramatically making him laugh more before walking into the kitchen making him some of his favorite noodles. As the noodles finished cooking I walked over to the couch feeding them lovingly,  As we finished up dinner I gave him some medicine before putting him to bed. "Good night Dimples," I kissed his forehead lightly I walked out of his room. Gently picking Vallie in my arms I take her into her room, "Good Night Vallie,"

Groaning I stretch out my back before laying down in my own bed I try to forget about Flynn, I don't want to remember him, I don't want him back...

"He will grow up to be a very handsome man like me," His voice rang through my ears, I slowly opened my eyes, "What why are you looking at me like that?"

"What are you doing here Flynn? I thought you would understand that I don't want to talk to you back at Aunt May's house Flynn."

Flynn smirked laying down beside me on the bed, "I thought you wanted to talk in private, you know for adult stuff."

Scrunching my nose I tried to sit up but he grabbed my hand pulling me back down, "Listen to me Lydia," He said seriously, "I stayed away for four years, I am not going to stay away from you or Hunter any longer or our daughter that you didn't bother telling me about."

"Get off," I snapped at him as he crawled on top of me, "Flynn, get off!"

He gently moved away from some hair from my face, "I'm back Dia, and there is nothing that you can do about it."

"Hunter is my child! Not yours. If you thought that you wouldn't have thrown us out that like! You would have listened to me, you would have listened to my family! I don't care if you are back, do you hear me, Flynn?! I don't care!"

Flynn began to laugh I covered my ears shutting my eyes, "Go away, Flynn!" 

Silence took over the room I opened my eyes, He was nowhere to be seen. 

It doesn't matter that he is back, I won't let him back in our lives, not now, not later, never.
