Chapter 2 ~ The Slytherin Ice Prince
Draco Pov;
When I lost sight of Victoria at platform 9 3/4, I went looking for my best friend Blaise Zabini, who was supposed to be somewhere between all the families.
I was wandering around in the crowd for what seemed like hours when I suddenly discovered Blaise, who was just caught in the constraints of his mother, who was trying to say goodbye, but Blaise was obviously extremely uncomfortable with this situation, so I decided without further ado, him before the situation to be exposed, to save, but whether it wasn't too late for that is another question. I walked in Blaise's direction and when he saw me he was desperately trying to wriggle out of his mother's embrace, his cheeks turning a slight pink and he scratching his head in embarrassment.
"Come on Blaise, what are you waiting for, for better times or for another assassination attempt on your mother?" I had to hold back a grin, but when I saw Blaise's crimson face and he began to mumble something unintelligible, I started laughing.
After I had calmed down again, we started looking for a free train compartment, which was not that easy as the train was already well filled and first graders were bustling around in the corridors.
Of course we made our way to the Slytherin compartment, but to get there we had to cross half the train because we had got on at the front.
"Why are you alone? Is Victoria on the train yet?" Blaise asked me behind my back and bumped into me as I was prevented by Hufflepuffs from continuing on my way.
"Sorry ..", my best friend mumbled and again created some distance between us, but seemed to be waiting for an answer on my part.
"Yes, I think she's already on the train. I lost sight of her on the platform."
He was satisfied with that answer and pushed a few students aside to make room.
When we passed the Gryffindor compartment, we were both looked at strangely.
Even Potter who came into our field of vision probably didn't know how to deal with the current situation.
You don't see two Slytherins in the Gryffindor compartment every day.
When he finally saw us, he turned in our direction, tripping over a suitcase lying on the floor, but caught himself again in time.
"Do you train for ballet, Potter?"
I mentioned in passing and noticed that Blaise was starting to laugh behind me, which made me grin too smugly.
"Oh, shut up, Malfoy!" Potter tried to fight back, but it was just ridiculous.
Because of this, I stopped bothering with the Gryffindors and continued on my way.
After a little more 10 minutes we found the compartment in which Victoria was staying. She had made herself comfortable in the back of the train and without asking we just sat in her compartment, I sat next to her and Blaise sat across from me.
But Victoria was apparently not in the mood for conversations, because she ignored us coldly and stared out the window.
Since Victoria wasn't interested in our conversation, Blaise and I discussed the next Quidditch selection and the upcoming class.
After about an hour, I could perceive a steady breathing next to me and noticed that Victoria had fallen asleep because she had rested her head on my shoulder.
After an hour in which we had talked about the Quidditsch selection, I put Victoria's head in my lap because my shoulder was slowly starting to ache.
Blaise got up and briefly informed me that he had to go to the bathroom.
I just nodded and couldn't take my eyes off Victoria.
Her curls fell into her beautiful pale face and I couldn't help and gently pushed the strands behind her ear.
At that moment Blaise came back.
At first he didn't say anything, just sat across from me in silence.
"You like her a lot, don't you?" Blaise asked suddenly, right on target.
I looked at him briefly in shock and questioning, but was speechless and couldn't get words out of my lips.
Blaise noticed that too and broke the silence again. "Come on Draco, I can tell when you're in love and how you've just looked at her said more than a thousand words."
"You are right. I really like her very much, I only realized that recently, but she doesn't feel the way I do anyway. "
Blaise obviously didn't know what to reply to my comment and decided to just keep quiet.
So many thoughts were buzzing in my head.
I didn't know what to do.
I woke Victoria just before we got to Hogwarts.
When she opened her eyes and realized that she was lying in my lap, she turned a little red, but covered this up and jumped up without another word and left the compartment to change.
Her embarrassed appearance made me smile slightly, but it didn't make the situation any easier
Blaise shakes my shoulder and said we should be there and get out.
I hadn't noticed the train stopping because, as so often, I was in my head, that had happened quite a lot lately, only that it wasn't just about Victoria ...
"Are you coming Draco?" Blaise asked impatiently.
"Go ahead. I still have to do something. " I said in a cool tone and waited until he was completely out of my field of vision.
I got up, grabbed my wand and had all the windows covered with their sun protection.
I closed the car door and turned back around.
"Petrificus totalus," I said, aiming at the luggage rack.
My suspicions were confirmed when Potter emerged on the floor from under his invisibility cloak.
He couldn't move because I put a curse on him.
It was impossible for him to undo the curse himself. I knelt on the floor next to him and said in a menacing voice.
"Didn't your parents teach you not to overhear others?
Oh, I forgot, your parents are dead! "
I got up and kicked Potter in the face with my foot.
"That was for my father."
With that said, I threw the Invisibility Cloak over him again.
"Nice trip back to London, Potter."
Then I straightened my suit and left the train without showing anything.
Outside at the train station all the first graders were being taken to the lake as they would be taking the boats across the lake to Hogwarts.
The other students drove in carriages that are supposed to be pulled by thestrals.
The thestrals are only visible to those who have seen death.
I saw that a group of students had formed in front of the carriages and heard faint noises of battle and at the same time shouts of encouragement.
I fought my elbow through the student crowd and what I saw made me grin. Victoria and Pansy Parkinson had apparently dueled, I hardly have to say who won, because Pansy was lying on the dirty floor and held her hands protectively in front of her face.
Victoria stood over her and played with her fingers with Pansy's wand.
Victoria dropped Pansy's wand and got into the next carriage, which Blaise and I got into too.
The drive didn't take long and by then we were almost at Hogwarts, my second home.
I was looking forward to it, although not to class or homework.
No, but something told me this year was going to be great and terrible at the same time.
Let's see what will develop from the matter with Victoria and of course the matter with the "dark lord", with the fact of being a Death Eater and with my task to kill Dumbledore ...
Once again I was lost in thought that I didn't even notice how the carriage stopped and Blaise dragged me out with it. Victoria watched the show with an amused expression.
We ran across the lands and shortly before the oak portal I stopped, took a deep breath and entered.
Now is the time for a new year at Hogwarts.
