Kannan just returned from his college.

Kannan: Anni!! Enakku oru glass paal kudungge!!

Dhanam: (from the kitchen) Aan!! Iru daa, eduthuttu varen!! (He sits on the floor and plays game in his mobile by leaning against a pillar. Dhanam comes bringing a glass of milk for him.) Inthada, kudi. (He takes the glass from her and about to drink.) Yennada athukulle college vitturucha!!

Kannan: College eppadi anni vidum?? Naanthan athe vittuttu vanthen!! Ha… Ha… (He laughs like silly.) Haiyo… Haiyo…

Dhanam: (stares at him) Aama, ithu oru periya joke'u. Neeye solli, neeye sirichikkire. (Kannan stops laughing.) Yennada?? College cut pannittu vanthuttiya?? Mama kitte sollava??

Kannan: Aiyo, anni!! Appadi ellam onnum illei. Last period'ku professor varale. Athan sikirama vanthutten.

Dhanam: Hmm. Sari. (She leaves to the kitchen. Mullai comes out from the room and sees Kannan at the hall. She goes towards him.)

Kannan: (about to drink the milk when he sees Mullai coming towards him.) Hi, Mullai anni!!

Mullai: Ennada?? Athukulle college lernthu vanthutte!!??

Kannan: (mind voice) Marupadiyuma!! Vendamda, Kanna. Dhanam anni kitte solli bulb vaanggune mathiri, Mullai anni kitteyum vanggirathe. Dhanam anniyavuthu appadi sonnangge. Mullai anni vithiyasamana counter kuduppangge.

Mullai: (slaps his head) Ennada?? Naan ketukitte irukken, nee bathil sollama yosichikittu irukke. Enna?? Avagha kitte sollatuma??

Kannan: Aiyo, anni!! Ippothan Dhanam anni ketangge'nu, avaghalte bathile sonnen. Ippo neenggalum athe kelviye kekriyale. Innaikku college sikiram vittruchi, anni. (About to drink his milk.)

Mullai: Athu enna unnei pudichikitta irunthuchi, vidurathukku??

Kannan: (mind voice) Naan sollale!!?? Mullai anni ode counter vithiyasama irukkumnu. Room potu yosippaage pole!! Irukkattum irukkattum. Nimmathiya oru paal'eh kudikke vidranggala. (About to drink the milk again.)

Mullai: Sari, en kude vaa.

Kannan: (shocked and confused) Engge??

Mullai: Sonnathaan varuviya?? Pesame vaa!!

Kannan: Naan vare maaten. Naan paal kudikkanum.

Mullai: Aama!! Chinna paapa!! Paale kudikkiraana!!?? Athe appurom kudichikkalam. Ippo en kude vare!! (She takes the glass from him and puts it on the table. She pulls his hand and drags him with her before he could get up.)

Kannan: (shouts) Aiyo!! En paalu!! (Dhanam comes out hearing Kannan's voice.)

Dhanam: Enna aachu??

Mullai: Akka, enakku konjom porul vaangge vendiyathu irukku. Naan Kannan'eh kootikittu veliye poitu vanthudren.

Dhanam: Sari, Mullai. Bathirama poitu vaangge. Athukku ethukkuda kathure!!?? (Mullai drags Kannan and leave from there.)

Later at night, all the brothers are having their dinner as usual while Mullai and Dhanam are serving them. Meena already had her dinner earlier because of her pregnancy but still she sits with them. Mullai steal glances at Kathir but Kathir who realised her gaze on him doesn't look at her. He continuously looks at his plate.

Kathir: (mind voice) Ava nammale thaan pakara. Aana Kathiru, gethu rombe mukkiyam. Paakathe!! Ava eppadi nammale samathanam paduthuranu paarpom. (His eyes move to see Mullai but he closes his eyes stopping them from seeing her.) Namme kannu kude namakku drogam panne paakuthu. (Towards his eyes.) Ceh, summa iru!! Namakku ippo soru thaan mukkiyam!! (Looking at his plate.)

Mullai: (mind voice) Enna ivughe?? Nammale paarkave maatingragha. Innum namme mele varuthathulethaan irukaagha pole. Ellam enakku theveithaan. Ippadi en mele varuthama iruntha, ivughalukku athe pidikkuma'nu teriyaleye. (Looks at him hopefully but Kathir's eyes are forced to look at his plate.) Ennangge, ennei konjum paarungge!! (Kathir's eyes automatically looks at her. Mullai's face becomes bright like 1000 Watts bulb.)

Kathir: (mind voice) Drogam pannirichida en kannu!! Drogi!! (He clears his throat.) Yen koopitte?? (All of them look at him confusingly.)

Moorthy: Dei, anthe pulle enggeda unneye kooptuchi?? Athu paatukku amaidhiya utkarnthirukku.

Mullai: Illei, naan koopten, mama. Poriyal ethavathu vekkava'nu kekurathukku koopten.

Dhanam: Yengga yaarukkum nee kooptathu kekave illei.

Kannan: Anni, athellam unggalukku ketirukkathu. Kathir annanukku mattumthaan ketkum. (Looks at Kathir.) Illei, ne?? (Kathir stares at him making him gulps down.) Aiyayo… Adi vilume…

Mullai: Yen'ge?? (Kathir looks at her.) Poriyal vekkava??

Kathir: (pretends to be upset) Vendam vendam. Enakku ithuve pothum. (Mullai face becomes dull. Jeeva looks at Mullai and then Kathir. )

Jeeva: (whispers to Kathir) Ennada?? Ungge rendu perukkum marupadiyum ethavathu prechanaiya??

Kathir: Appadi ellam onnum illei, ne. (Hiding his smile.)

Jeeva: Ennada sirikkire?? Anthe pulle mugam etho sogama irukku. Nee ennana sirikkire.

Kathir: (whispers) Saththama sollathe, ne. Avalukku keture pothu. Prechanailam ethuvum illei. Nee bayapadama saapudu. (He smiles. Jeeva feels relief seeing him smiling and continues eating. They complete rest of their dinner silently.)

After finishing the dinner, Mullai and Dhanam clean the place and take all the dishes to the kitchen for washing. Others are sitting and chatting among them. Meena already retired to her room. Kathir is looking for Mullai to come but she doesn't come.

Kathir: (mind voice) Kathiru, ava varathukku munnadi namme room'ku poitu paaye viruchi potu paduthuruvom. (He gets up from his place and leaves to his room after telling his brothers.)

KM Room

Kathir enters inside the room and switches on the light. He is surprised to see the view in his room.
