Ayah 60
Hal jazaaa'ul ihsaani illal ihsaan
هَلْ جَزَاءُ الْإِحْسَانِ إِلَّا الْإِحْسَانُ
Word by Word:
hal: Is
Jazau: (the) reward
Al ihsaan: (for the) good
Illal: but
Al ihsaan: good
Translation:
Is there any Reward for Good - other than Good?
Ayah Tafseer:
This is the summing up of all the symbolism used to express the Fruit of Goodness or Good. The symbolism must necessarily resort to comparative terms, to subjective ideas of Bliss. But the fullest expression can only be given in abstract terms: "Is there any reward for Good—other than Good?" Can anything express it better?
