A Wonderful Hot Sweaty Night
Sam was never a party goer. So when Bella pulled him through a group of people to the dance floor, with the music blaring something that had everyone line dancing, he was slightly hesitant. But the feel of her hand on his kept him from pulling away. Despite his senses being overwhelmed by the loud music, the sweat from being in close proximity to so many people, and his fear for his father's safety he still felt that something that had stayed with him after that first and only vision of Bella. He didn't know what it was. It wasn't love. Or was it? Or was it simply an instinct to protect her, something he couldn't do for-- he cuts off the thought.
Bella stops, apparently deciding that they were in a good enough spot. On one half of the bar people were line dancing and on the other, the one they were on, was a massive blob. Swaying, jumping, grinding, and kissing. "So," she shouts over the music. Sam's eyes follow her denim clad hips as they move to the beat. Could it be?
He steps a little closer so as to hear her. "How are you?" She asks as he looks at her for a moment remembering the first time they met and the pain in her eyes that was melting away to anger. At the time, even now it scares him to see that same look that he has seen in eyes in hers.
The song turns slow allowing their voices to lower slightly. Her hands move to his neck and his to her waist. Their bodies melding together as if they are no longer two but one. "My dad may or may not be walking into his death tonight," he studies a piece of her hair that looks more red than brown. She tilts her head slightly asking him to explain. He told her about finding his dad and about Meg. As he spoke she pressed her cheek to his neck. Attentively listening, but taking in his presence all the same.
"So let me get this straight," she pulls back slightly so she can see his eyes, "you dated a possessed girl?" Her eyes go wide and her cheeks are blushed because of all the people and her hair crazy from sweat making her look incredibly beautiful. "Well I think I can actually beat that," she bites her lip debating whether or not to tell him.
"I have been hunting vampires, cold ones, werewolves, although they are pretty much almost extinct.." "Wait," Sam interrupts. "You've been hunting?" This time his eyes go wide. "And I've been-" she stumbles slightly over her words and then just speeds through it, "I guess friends with benefiting with a vampire," Sam's eyes nearly bug out of his head causing her speed to increase yet again bringing him back to their first meeting. "And then I found them," her hand unwinds from his neck and goes to his chest, "I found them Sam. They live here. Less than a mile from this damn bar. And.." She stops for a breath.
Sam stands there neither of the swaying to the song anymore. "I've waited a whole year for this!" Her hands travel down his shirt to the hem. "And I just needed one more hour before. Before ... I don't know what." She looks at him with her brown eyes waiting for the judgement, but she is simply reminded of why they inspired her when he simply shakes his head. "Well," he pulls her into a hug, "we both have some interesting problems."
They dance together and apart but even apart they hold onto each other and just for a moment they get to forget. They got to live in the world of song, alcohol, and freedom. But like all dreams it came to an end. Dean's booming voice can be heard in the break between the music. Bella's eyes fly open searching for him. She finally spots him sitting at the bar. A red head pressed up against him.
Bringing a finger to his chin, "you know," she looks down to where his gaze was moments ago and raises her voice so the redhead can hear. "I have something that needs your attention tonight," leaning in closer so her lips are to his ear so only he can hear, "something that needs to be burned." Despite the numerous drinks Dean had consumed he still managed to maintain his composure, except a gulp that was clearly visible. He kept thinking that Sams got dibs. Then the other half of him said screw him. "Well I guess I'll have to help you with that." He replies to the red head's disbelief. With a huff she stomps off.
"You know," he tried to speak with his normal cocky attitude but his voice was failing him. This was not the same Bella Swan they left behind a year ago. "You just lost me a wonderful night. Filled with hot, sweaty-" Bella removes herself from his lap as Sam comes up. "I promise you a wonderful hot sweaty night," turning to Sam she gives him an I told you so look. And Dean looked at Sam with a look that said damn.
"The Cullen's are here."
