Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the third is not like any Viking on the island of Berk. He listens to people and focuses his attention on them more than he does on himself. Who would have thought that this life would get him in trouble one day? Hiccup spent most of his time either in the forge helping Gobber during dragon raids helping with weapons or in the forest thinking about how much his life sucked. But one day during a dragon raid Hiccup like always didn't listen to Gobber when he told him to stay in forge while he helped outside. He went out to a high cliff so he could kill a dragon. Not just any dragon... a night fury. Hiccup wanted to be noticed and killing a dragon will solve all of those problems. After luckily shooting it down, instead of killing the night fury, he befriended it. Toothless' left tail fin got damaged and torn off. Hiccup felt sorry for him and slowly made him a new one.
So, Hiccup spent most of his days training and learning more and more about dragons which helped him the dragon killing arena. Weeks passed by and after the final assessment, Hiccup was chosen to kill the Monstrous Nightmare.
Hiccup thought of leaving but changed his mind and decided to stay and leave on the day of the killing. He woke up bright and early but kept getting slowed down by the villages and finally by his father. Hiccup couldn't get away. He was going to have to kill the Monstrous Nightmare. He arrived at the ring and waited for Gobber to pull the launch up to release the door. Hiccup decided to drop all of his weapons and try to calm the dragon down but of course his father didn't understand what he was doing, he made a loud noise by banging onto the metal barrier. Hiccup was being chased around the arena and out of nowhere there was a loud bang followed by a large cloud of smoke. Toothless had come to save Hiccup. Toothless stood in front of Hiccup while the Nightmare coward in the corner of his cage. Everyone was looking at Hiccup and the Night fury. Hiccup knew what he had to do. He jumped onto Toothless and left everyone with a shocked look on their faces. As he was leaving he heard his father yell at the top of his lungs.
"Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the third. You are hereby banished from the island of Berk forever. I don't want to see your face on this island again." Under his breath he whispered "you're no longer my son or future chief of Berk" and with that Hiccup never returned to Berk until now.

Hiccup POV
"Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the third. You are hereby banished from the island of Berk forever. I don't want to see your face on this island again." That was the last thing I heard before Toothless and I left for a new island. I sat on toothless thinking about what I have just done. I left my home island and got banished on the same day. Was my father that heartless that he'd banish his own son? But I am glad that I'm with my best friend.
