Chapter 2- Pastel shop
It's been years hasn't it? still looking for him. Yearning for him.
I couldn't bare it.
Everyday I would wake up alone, in our empty bed. Or should I say "My" bed now... The day still rang inside my head, still burning and breaking my selfish heart.
Everyday I would be reminded of how much of a dirty scum I am. How much of a traitor I am. I just can't take much more of this. I want him, I need him. He is everything and more to my empty and dull world.
But still I failed to keep our vows, I failed to keep my promises. And I know that even my death wouldn't bring him even the slightest bit closer to me. I know that even though how much I have prayed, he still won't come. And I know that he won't appear in front of me when I wake up.
Cause this isn't a dream.
This isn't just some dream that I could wake up from. This is not a fantasy that I could manipulate. And I know this isn't a story with a happy ending.
But I'm changing that.
I've left all my past mistakes behind and kept looking for him. I have left all those second affairs that made me betray him. But I haven't left my feelings towards you.
My demon, my honey, my ever so sweet demon being that I have and will love. Bendy. I ask for your forgiveness. Even though I don't clearly deserve any bit of it. There is nothing I want more than you my love.
All this couple of years, I've been searching for him. For the very first being I love. I have asked countless people, hang countless posters, searched countless websites of any bit of you.
But of course there wasn't any.
He had kept a well job of being an enigma to me. Not even a trace of you was left. It was like you just disappear out of existence. All my faith was lost and only a glimps of hope was left. Until my phone rang.
"Hey.. yes who is this? "
"My name is not of any importance to you but I have something "
"What is it? "
I was eager hoping it was him and to my surprise.
"I have found were this Bendy you spoke of"
"Where!? when!? "
"Heh aren't we to eager?"
"Please tell me now"
"Near the bell tower in a coffee shop"
"Thank you so much! how can I ever repay you"
"No need I'm glad to help"
I hang up, and with no time to spare I hastily sped and got there. It was indeed a coffee shop decorated with pastel colors of pink and lavender. Flowers placed elegantly near the entrance. And a glass door imprinted with "Benny's coffee shop".
"Please be here Bendy"
I gently opened the glass door and cautiously entered, only to be greeted by a girl in pastel attire.
"Hi sir! welcome to Benny's coffee shop"
"Um hi? do you know anyone named Bendy here? "
"Sadly no sir, but would you care to order? "
Dissatisfied he went on and sat himself, ordering a vanilla summer, that the waitress recommend.
"Your order will come in two shakes of a demon's tail"
And with that she left, leaving a cup-headed man to wonder in confusion. There was something in that particular sentence that made him feel familiar.
Sooner or later the waitress came back with his order, with high posture and cheering smile, she gave the order and turned hills. Going back to the counter to wait another task. But she was stopped with a call.
"Um, miss? "
"Yes? "
"About that sentence earlier, where did you got that? "
The waitress who was completely oblivious to what was happening, answered anyway.
"Oh that? that's what our manager Benny used to say everyday to us"
"Is that so?... can I meet him? "
"Yes... but only after this shop closes"
"Thanks"
"No problem! "
Time went by hastily and customers slowly filled and emptied the pastel shop. And now it was late in noon. The only people there were Cuphead, the employees, and the person they called Benny.
Cuphead still sat there, patiently waiting for the waitress to come with the said person named Benny. Cuphead was wondering if he could get some info from him about his love. But to his sudden surprise, the waitress tapped his shoulder, catching his attention.
"Ehem, sir Mr. Benny will meet you soon"
"Yes, sorry for the bother"
"Oh, don't worry sir"
And soon a silent creek from a nearby door caught both of our attention, as a man with two horn-like hair and pail mask face with velvet eyes, made his way out from the room. All his employees went back to the counter and finished their cleaning.
"Hey, Alice did someone called me? "
"Yes sir, that guy sitting in a desk is the one"
"Thank you, I think it's time to close up now, go get some rest while I finish this business "
And with that they left, and the smile on his face quickly faded away when he saw me.
"B-bendy? "
"Shut up, It's Benny now"
"C-can we talk? "
"Is there something to talk about, other than your pathetic excuse? "
I tried to reach for him, but he retaliated and backed away with a face of pure disgust shown.
"What do you want now! to sue me!? To force me to forget the past!? "
"No. I... I"
"I what! you stupid idiot! "
I fell on my knees and looked up to him with pleading eyes, as my words escaped my trembling mouth.
"Please... please forgive me.. "
He quickly kicked me away and stomped in pure anger.
"Forgive you!? you must be insane?! "
"Please Bendy.. "
"I said it's Benny now, and...
All I heard from your apologies was pure fraud after I saw what you truly are"
With eyes like porcelain dolls and breath cold as ice, he grinned lifelessly. His piercing eyes stabbed through me like a knife, hurting what was left of my hope.
"Bendy? "
"You still haven't got it haven't you?"
Confused as ever I looked deep in his eyes and saw nothing other than rage and pure guilt.
"What is it?... "
"Heh... guess I have to tell you then.. After our divorce, I've felt free for the first time in a long while. I changed my name and built a shop for me, while you... heh.. I bet you've been raving with women all the while"
"No I haven't, Bendy.. "
"I guess you've changed... But..
I have moved on from you long ago"
And with one swift move I was shoved out of the store as it closes in front of me.
