Spook, Miss Martian, Bumblebee, Wonder Girl, and Batgirl have all been chosen to go on a mission together.

"Investigating the origin of the alien bomb that destroyed the Krolotean invasion force is still a high priority. We suspect the bomb may have been smuggled to Earth via boom tube. Watchtower sensor scans in Bialya have recorded an uptick in boom tube activity. Alpha squad. Your mission is–" Nightwing's cut off by an excited Wonder Girl.

"Sneak behind enemy lines, recon known boom tube hotspots and find alien tech matching the bomb. Oh, and don't get caught or create an international incident. Right?" she quickly voices.

"That about covers it," Nightwing grins.

"Psimon?" Megan asks.

"We have confirmation that Bialya's telepathic enforcer's still catatonic in a Quraci hospital... After his last encounter with you... But Bialya's dictator, Queen Bee, is another story. Her ability to control the minds of men is why Alpha is an all-female squad for this mission."

Batgirl smirks. "Oh reeeally?" She crosses her arms sassily. "And would you have felt the need to justify an all male squad for a given mission?"

Nightwing sheepishly looks off to the side with a cough. "There's... no right answer for that, uh, is there? So... Nightwing out."

"Queen Bee isn't the only woman who can mess with a man's mind," Batgirl smirks.

Everyone laughs. A few hours go by with idle talking in the mix.

"So, how are you and Conner?" Bee asks. "How is it living with Colton?"

"Different, that's for sure," Spook says. "Colton is like having Conner all over again from when I first met him, but he's slightly more protective, powerful, outgoing, and emotional. We have to go grocery shopping a lot cause the four of us eat so much."

"Four?" Batgirl questions.

"Wolf," Spook answers.

"Ah, right."

"Protective how?" Cassie asks.

"Technically he is the older brother, so he's very protective of Conner. Though to be honest it's really cute even if it drives Conner crazy."

"But?" Megan asks, knowing it's coming.

"But, he does the same thing to me as I'm his only little sister. He's kinda clingy at times."

"That's a lot different from when Conner arrived," Bee chuckles.

"Sorta," Megan laughs.

"Yeah, you can definitely tell that they're brothers though," Spook says.

"Well, they do look exactly alike except their eyes," Batgirl says.

"Yeah, Colton usually wears a pair of sunglasses out in public," Spook says.

"Does he wear a mask cause of his eyes when he's Match?" Bee asks.

"Yeah, I told him to. I mean how hard would it be to find him because of his eyes? Not hard at all. He's probably the only person in the world with black sclera."

"Has anyone else seen his eyes?" Bee asks.

"A few random people at the store," she chuckles. "They ran away screaming 'demon.' Very entertaining for the two of us, considering I'm technically a demon. We're a good pair."

The others laugh.

"You ever have to explain?" Megan asks.

"Superman told his coworkers that it was a new rare genetic mutation," Spook says. "Batman got some people together to officially classify it as Tenebris Oculi which is Latin for Dark Eyes."

"We've arrived," Megan interrupts.

They leave the bioship in the air as everyone floats down, Batgirl in Miss M's telekinetic hold. The five duck down behind a sand dune.

'The other boom tube hotspots have all been busts, but–' Batgirl says, looking at the scene below with her advanced binoculars.

WG cuts her off. 'But this much security must be guarding some big deal alien stuff, right?'

'Our job is to find out,' MM says.

'Alright, Batgirl, take the north hangar. I'll take the back. Bee, the middle. MM the South. Wonder Girl, hold position,' Spook commands.

'What? Wait, why can't I go in?' WG asks sadly.

'Cause you're Wonder Girl, honey. Not Stealth-er Girl,' Bee reasons.

'I can do this!'

'No one's knocking your enthusiasm, Cass. And if we were in a firefight there's no one I'd rather have beside me.'

'But we're trying to avoid a fight,' Spook tells her.

'And we need a lookout. Use the psychic link only. The Bialyans have the tech to intercept our radios,' Megan says.

'Anything goes wrong, we scatter and meet at the rendezvous point. Clear?' Spook asks.

'Clear,' everyone but WG choruses.

WG sighs. "Clear." She gasps, covering her mouth with her hand. Everyone disperses. 'I mean, clear.'

Spook enters through the large open doors from the back, scanning over all the tech. MM appears near Spook and begins to look around for her. Spook notices and appears next to MM.

"What's wrong?" Spook asks.

"Psimon is here," MM whispers back. "I've shut down the psychic link."

The alarm begins to sound.

"Meet you at the rendezvous point," Spook whispers, teleporting to the meet up spot.

MM and WG eventually show up. 5 minutes go by.

"It's been too long!" WG begins to freak out. "Something happened to Batgirl and Bee and it's all my fault for getting spotted."

"Cassie, calm down," Spook grunts with her eyes closed.

"Every mission takes an unexpected turn. We've recovered and adapt. That's rule one," MM says.

"Sounds about right," Bee voices, flying up to the three.

"Bee! You're alive!" WG cheers.

"Was that really in doubt?"

"Have you seen Batgirl?" Spook asks.

"Captured. So we have to go. Now. I'll brief you all on the way. I have a plan," Bee smirks.

Bee tells them her plan, and they all nod.

"Good plan, Bee. You heard Bee, let's get to work!" Spook says, vanishing.

"Cargo is secured," Devastation says.

"Just need a couple more minutes to complete refueling," Icicle Jr says.

Spook phases into the plane, searching for Batgirl's containment pod. Finding her, she opens the pod. "Batgirl. Batgirl, wake up!" Spook sighs. "You asked for it..." She reaches her hand to grip her soul, jolting her awake.

Batgirl gasps awake, smacking the back of her head against the pod. "Ah! Ow! Did you just–"

"Sorry, you needed to be awoken. We have got a cargo plane full of abductees here and you're the only one qualified to fly it to safety. Which, if you think about it, is ironic since you're the only one on Alpha who can't fly."

"Yeah. Ironic."

Megan does her part of becoming Shimmer, leading Devastation, Jr, and Mammoth away from the plane.

"Plane's fully fueled. What's going on?" Jr asks aloud.

Spook exits the ship as it begins to start up and fly out. Mammoth and Devastation begin running back toward the plane. Bee begins shooting bolts in Mammoth's face as Spook smashes a hard ecto-powered fist to Devastation's face. The two villains are thrown back as Bee races past them to help MM. Devastation jumps up onto the plane and rips off part of the top to grab at Batgirl. Spook takes on Mammoth. WG punches Devastation off the plane, tackling Mammoth down in the process. MM takes out Jr. They all fly behind the plane to the exit.

'Yes! We did it!' WG cheers.

Mammoth throws a piece of machinery at the plane.

"Look out!" Spook shouts, grabbing WG and turning intangible.

The machine moves through them and blows off one of the wings of the plane. The plane goes out of control and the other wing is torn off. The rest of the plane slides out of the exit, falling down into the large trench below. The four flyers exit and move down to catch the plane from crashing. WG goes to the front to help slow the impact.

"It's too heavy!" WG shouts.

Spook replicates herself into 10 and pushes up from the bottom of the plane. It soars up and the plane is saved.

"Whoo hoo! Yes!" WG cheers.

"Alright," Spook groans. "I really don't want to have to carry this all the way home. Miss M get the bioship to help carry this thing please!"

"Right! Sorry!" Miss M responds, calling on the bioship to take the heavy load off the ghost girl.

Spook returns to her single ghostself, phasing through the plane to grab Batgirl before phasing into the bioship to meet the others.

They all high five.

"Mission accomplished!" WG whoops.

"Psimon planted mental suggestions in the minds of his doctors and nurses. They've been tending to an empty hospital bed for months. I'm sorry," Nightwing says.

"It had to happen eventually," Megan mutters.

"So, no sign of any alien tech?"

"None," Bee says. "Though what we found was strange enough."

"It was clear in Shimmer's mind that Queen Bee was acting as a middle man delivering abducted humans to an unknown partner," Megan reports.

"We questioned all the abductees. Most were runaways. All were kidnapped after the destruction of Malina Island and the Kroloteans," Batgirl says.

"So if the Bialyans weren't kidnapping humans for the Kroloteans then who is this partner?" Nightwing wonders.

Cassie sighs aggravatedly. "Another unanswered question."

"New questions keep the investigation moving forward. You saved lives. And you got each other home safe. It's a successful mission in my book. Good work, Alpha," Nightwing compliments her.

Batgirl pulls Cassie close to her and all the girls laugh as they gather in a group hug.

Spook backs out of it, grinning. "Now, if you don't mind. I got a husband, a wolf, and a brother at home to get back to. Hopefully they haven't wrecked the house in my absence."

They all laugh and head their separate ways.
