Chapter 9: Moving on With Life: The New Companion and an Angel Test
Emily
I sighed as Dad and I watched a hospital. "What the hell are we doing, Dad?" I asked looking through the photo gallery. "We're doing what Donna told us. Finding a new companion." Dad replied as a woman walked in the building. "Ah! There she is." He said smiling. "Yeah, have fun with that, Dad. I'm going to go read." I stated standing up walking towards library. He caught my arm. "Emily, I know you don't want any other woman in your life right now, but we need this. You know we do." Dad replied sadly. "Dad, just go. I'm tired." I replied pulling my arm away from him as I walked towards the library.
I got in and closed the doors behind me. I took in a deep breath and closed my eyes as I screamed and all the books went flying, the couch toppled over, and the shelves collapsed. I heard wings flapping and I opened my eyes to see a man in a trench coat. I glared tackling him and pointed my fist at him. "Who are you?" I asked as he faced me. His eyes were mesmerizing and familiar. "I do not understand why you have to assault." He stated as I gripped his collar. "Just tell me who you are and I'll let you go." I replied as looked into my eyes. "I'm Castiel. Don't you remember, Emily? I thought you never wanted to see me again. You told me to never try and find you, but here I am." He said smiling. I had wide eyes and I let him go. "Castiel!" I exclaimed getting off him and hugged him tightly.
"I missed you so much." I whispered as he hugged me back. "I do not understand why you are suddenly acting like you've missed me." He stated pulling away. I frowned. "D-Don't you remember me?" I asked scared of the answer. "You aren't the Emily, I know." He stated as I sighed standing up and walking towards my room after fixing everything in the library. "You're quiet." He commented as he followed me to my room. "Yes I am." I replied closing the door after he came in.
"Did I do something to upset you?" He asked. Yes! "No." I replied sitting in front of my dresser and looked at the photos. I smiled remembering Rose and Jack. Of all people that I could like romantically, it had to be this Angel who doesn't even remember me. I stood up and sat, leaning on the wall opposite to my bed. Castiel sat beside me, but I moved farther. I closed my eyes wiping my tears. "Why are you crying?" He asked as I felt his breath on my cheek. I opened my eyes to see his face inches from me. I backed away further towards the wall and closed my eyes.
"Emily!" Dad called as I heard wings flapping. I opened my eyes to see Castiel disappear. Thank God he left! I sighed standing up and walked out to see a woman smiling at Dad. "Ah, Emily. This is Martha Jones. Martha Jones, this is my daughter, Emily." He stated smiling. "You're daughter?" She asked smiling. I frowned at her. "Right then, let's get going." Dad said smiling at me. "Whatever you say." I replied leaning on the railing and studying Martha Jones. She seems quite interesting. "But where's the crew, like a navigator and stuff? Where is everyone?" She asked as I raised a brow and crossed my arms.
"Just us." Dad replied preparing the TARDIS. "All on your own?" She asked. "Well, sometimes we have guests. I mean some friends, traveling alongside. We had. There was recently, a friend of mine. Rose, her name was. Rose. And we were together. Anyway." Dad said as I watched Martha have a glimmer in her eye. Sadness I think. "Where is she now?" She asked as I looked at Dad. "With her family. Happy. She's fine. She's... Not that you're replacing her." Dad said defensively. I will replace her. I frowned. Did she just say that? "You just thought you would." I mumbled as she glanced at me. "I'm sorry, did you say something?" She asked as I shook my head no. "Just one trip to say thanks. You get one trip, then back home. We'd rather be alone." Dad replied as I was about to seat. "You're the one that kissed me." She replied smiling. I frowned standing up. "You kissed her?" I asked scoffing and started walking away. "Emily! Hold on, it was a genetic transfer!" Dad exclaimed as I shook my head. "Emily, I'm so-" I cut him off. "Stop. Just stop right there. Go give her that one ride you promised. If she does decides to stay... Martha Jones, don't expect this adventure you got into to be any fun when I'm around." I stated walking away and locked myself in my room.
I screamed and the whole room went into chaos. I sat by the darkest corner and cried. I heard the familiar flapping of wings. "Emily?" Cas called as I hugged my knees. "What?" I asked wiping my tears away. "What happened here?" He asked finding me. "Nothing. I'll fix it later. What are you doing 'ere?" I asked as he sat beside me. I moved farther. "I wanted to talk to someone about my feelings for a certain girl back in the ward." He replied frowning. I sighed in frustration. He really doesn't remember does he!? "Just got back to your girlfriend and two best friends. They obviously are more important than what you have to say. Just leave me alone." I stated leaning on my collapsed dresser. There might be something here that I can use to inflict pain on myself. I just want this pain to go away. "Have I said anything to upset you? You're acting distant again." He commented. "No, I told you to go and leave me alone!" I yelled trowing a pillow at him.
I felt someone in front of me and I felt my arms being peeled away from my knees. "You were lying. I did say something to upset you." He replied cupping my cheek. What the hell is he doing!? "C-Castiel, what are you doing?" I asked nervously as more tears fell down my face. He sighed smiling. He trailed my lips with his thumb as he kissed me. I froze confused. He pulled away smiling at me. "W-What..." I trailed off as he pulled my face close. I gasped feeling something familiar that I've forgotten. "I lied. I remember you, Emily. Emily of the past. I was testing you and I. I had to find out how you feel about me and if I could recover the memories I lost." He whispered as I couldn't help my hand from slapping him.
SLAP
"What was that for?" He asked massaging his cheek. "That was for lying to me! And this," I crashed our lips together as I felt that familiar feeling of warmth in my heart. We pulled away slowly as I tried to fix my room. "Why was that for?" He asked caressing my cheek. "That was for finally being here with me." I replied as he kissed my cheek and pulled me closer. I sighed hugging him back tightly. "You're an extraordinary woman even in your past." He commented as we were teleported into the library. "Why'd you bring me here?" I asked confused. "Because it calms you though you tried to destroy it." He replied smiling sadly at me. I smiled leaning on his shoulder as we sat on the couch.
"I guess I underestimated your angelic mojo." I stated as he kissed my head and positioned us on the couch. He intertwined our fingers and I giggled at his clothing. "What is it?" He asked as I turned towards him. "I was just wondering why you're in patient outfit." I replied as he played with my fingers. "Oh, I transferred Sam's disease into me. I didn't want Dean to lose his brother." He replied sadly. I smiled proudly and sadly at him. "You are so adorable trying to save everyone else and I like that." I whispered caressing his cheek. He smiled kissing my cheek. "I know you don't like that woman with your father right now." He whispered as I made the couch levitate. "Really? How so?" I asked he caressed my backhand. "I know because you wouldn't wreck your room just because of your mother. You're angry at me and that woman." He replied as I closed my eyes leaning in him.
"Quite right." I replied as he let me go. "Where do you think your going?" I asked as he sat up straight. "I have to get back to them." He replied about to leave, but I caught his hand as I felt us teleport. I coughed as we landed on a bed. I opened my eyes to see Castiel carrying me bridal style. "Why did you come with me?" Cas asked frowning down at me. "I didn't want to be alone again." I whispered as I felt eyes on us. I looked up to see three people looking at us. "You found Emily?" The shorter man asked smiling at us. I looked at Cas curiously. "Not exactly. This is her from the past, Sam, Dean." He replied smiling at me. He let me down and I sensed the girl had bad intentions. I quickly looked for something in my pockets to protect me to find a sonic screwdriver. I pointed it at her as she pointed a gun at me.
"Do you know why women are not good with guns?" I asked pressing the button to disarm the gun. "Emily, what are you doing?" Sam asked worriedly. I put my screwdriver back in my pockets and raised my hands in surrender. The lady smiled as I got the gun from her and pointed it at her. "Boom. You're dead. Boom. Boom. You're dead." I said pointing the gun at her leg, chest, then head. She stood there gaping at me. I dismantled the gun and laid the parts on the bed. "I hate guns." I stated as Sam laughed. "What's so funny?" I asked as he grinned. "It's just the irony is funny. You lo-" I cut him off with a finger on his lips. "Please don't tell me about my future." I stated smiling. He smiled and nodded in understanding.
"Who the hell are you!?" A familiar voice asked pointing a gun at me. "Didn't I just say I hated guns!?" I asked making her gun come to me. "Hey! What the hell!?" She yelled as I gave it to the Dean. "I hate gu...ns. Goodness gracious! You know what I hate about time traveling? This. Meeting your older or future self." I grumbled as my phone rang. "Emily speaking." I said answering it. "Emily! Where are you!? You aren't in the TARDIS!?" Dad asked worried. "I'm sorry, Dad! Just wait a bit. I have to ask." I replied covering the phone. "Sorry, what's the time, date, place, and year?" I asked shyly.
"It's 9:25am, July 14, Saint Bartholomew's Hospital, Wyoming. It's 2011." Dean replied raising a brow. "Thanks." I said uncovering the phone. "Dad, I'm in Saint Bartholomew's Hospital, Wyoming. It's 9:25am in July 14, 2011." I replied. As future me tried to touch me. "Atatatatata! No touching. We might create a paradox and destroy both worlds." I replied backing away. She frowned confused. "A what?" She asked crossing her arms. "I said we-" I was cut off by Dad. "EMILY!" He called from the window. We looked out to see the TARDIS. "What is that?" Dean asked frowning. "It's the TARDIS, Time And Relative Dimension In Space." I replied giving both men a hug and a chaste kiss on the lips for Cas. "Ask Cas your questions. I have to go now, Adieu." I said running towards the window and jumped as Dad caught me.
"Gotcha." He whispered as we dematerialized. I saw Martha from the corner of my eye. I sighed pulling away. "She's staying?" I asked as he grinned slightly. "She's a doctor." He reasoned as I rolled my eyes and smiled. "Alright, fine. Just don't indulge her anymore than you already did." I whispered pulling away. "Welcome aboard, Martha Jones!" I exclaimed as we drove away. This should be fin and interesting.
