She opened her eyes to see him present beside her , knelt down. Shivaay smiled waving his hand ,she silently turned to complete her prayer with the almighty . He waited , not wanting to disturb her . Annika took her time , a long span . He didn't know what to pray for because his prayer wasn't a list rather just a sentence.

Our wedding ,without any problems .

Because for him , he had everything in life as of now and all he could think of a need was her . It was a crucial one , so he prioritized that before anything. He was actually surprised on seeing her pray for such a long time. This has never happened before . So he thought of adding something to his list .

Fulfill her wish .

Considering the current circumstances , his wish and her's would just be the same but still be wanted to aid her .

Annika let a huge sigh and opened her eyes , staring at the Lord infront she gestured to do the cross and stood up . He followed her behind .

S- looks like you've got a big list annie , annie ...annika

A- hmm ?

S- I'm talking to you .

A- haan , nothing shivaay . Just randomly, was reading bible for sometime. I didn't realize time ...

Shivaay couldn't just accept this , she didn't look ok .

S- this is why I told you not to agree for all that !

A- shivaay it's not that, I'm telling you right

Both came out and walked towards the car.

S- annika if you had given me a chance I'd have somehow spoken to her and

A- they've already compromised a lot for us .

S - what happened that day was a calamity, earthquakes happen because of plate tectonics! Atleast  have some sense to realize it, it has nothing to do with astrology and all.

A- why that day then? Such an important day it was, for us.

He was pissed off completely.

S- oh please stop sounding like mom annie! You are not doing that, no need. I'll talk to mom.

A- I can't take any chances shivaay, I don't believe in all this but it's about your life.

S- so you're ready to sit and sing prayers in temple a whole day , hold a fast. You don't even know how things work at temples, why?

A- then what can I do!!

She shouted suddenly, the whole crowd there watched her. He shook his head and opened the door , she settled inside murmuring something to herself. When he came around and took the driver seat, she resumed showing how frustrated she actually is.

A- then what do I do? The astrologer checked our horoscopes and declared we shouldn't be together, he said something might happen to you after marriage. I don't believe all this, god I don't even know how it works it was your mom who wanted to consult him after the earthquake incident. And when she told me this, how do you think I'd have felt? Maybe if I do all these stuffs, we can have a chance I don't know!

She cried looking the other side, he approached to console her but she stopped him right away.

A- please, drop me at home that's enough.

Pinky arranged the necessary items on the plate while reciting some prayers. From since she knew about the horoscope, she hadn't slept only. Her only dear son is all that matters for her. When he first came and said he loves a Christian girl, she was very angry on him. Customs, traditions, these are like etched in a person's soul from birth to death, this is her theory. She was never close to even think of giving him a chance.

People say it's good to change with time and generation, well she did too. During those days girls weren't allowed to step outside the house, today she was so ready and excited to roam around and go shopping with her daughter in law . Married people have to live with their parents, the girl should take care of her in laws those days. Pinky was cool to let her son move out with his wife separately if he wishes so . D - I - L's were expected to sit and do cooking at home, pinky wanted a really passionate and independent woman for her son.

She evolved with time quick and nice, so threshold is already reached she believed and didn't except his love at all. Narrow minded they call such people but they don't realize what actually awaits. Love, wedding, happiness, yes but bringing extremely different communities together wouldn't be of good for a long term relationship. It can only weaken the bond. What comes after can be hurtful for him, so, she denied.

Of course society was again a crucial reason for which she couldn't accept them. The Oberoi family's first D I L should be a perfect match for shivaay and a great asset to the family because she's got the responsibility to uphold and represent the family's traditions . Crowd talks philosophy, evolution, broad minded theories today but when the real problem occurs it just does.

Annie is a very nice girl, she knew the day they met itself. And she loves shivaay so much, pinky clearly noticed that too. Stills for months she kept denying his plea putting forth her fears and ideologies on this thing. Everyday he'd fight, argue and what not. All because of love.

She didn't graduate in science but she  very well knew how DNA works. So stubborn was she and so so stubborn was he. At a point he stopped talking to her which hurt her the most. She felt like she's been blocking his happiness, his life. Only then she started preparing herself to step down for his sake.

But that doesn't mean she'd play blind for all his stubborn acts. Their whole mansion went down that day, she was worried sick. Is she doing right or is God sending omens to think again. Pinky went to the astrologer the next day for his words scared her even more. His happiness matters , yes but, his life scores even more.

She has asked annika to do all the necessary pooja and prayers to please God, asking to help and protect and forgive .

Today they were at the temple, annika lit all the diyas. She was fasting today so nothing but water, only fruits if needed. Lighting candles are easier, annika made the comparison in her mind. Pouring oil, spreading thread, the process is mandatory for each set. She wanted to complain but didn't, please help us, she kept mumbling this throughout .

P- I forgot to buy the lemons, will be back.

A- ok.

She continued the work. Lit them one by one.

It was 6.30 PM when he parked his car and came up there. It was crowded, he couldn't spot her only.

' you're doing it wrong, it should face the east '

A- oh ok.

She heard someone saying this and quickly worked to correct all of it. Since there were alot, she had to go here and there turning and positioning each accordingly.

Shivaay was shocked when he witnessed it, her stole's edge seemed to have fallen on the lit up one and caught fire at its end. She didn't realize it until he pulled it from behind and tried putting the fire off. Annika gasped and stood up watching his struggle.

A- shivaay!

A few more seconds and he somehow did it.

A- shivaay, shivaay are you ok?

S- are you?

He pulled her close and checked her arms first. His palms were wounded, looking blood red. Pinky who just came there freaked out seeing his hand.

P- oh my god!! Shivaay

She snatched his hand which annika had kept held all this time and immediately took him to the nearby water source there. The cold water hit his skin continuously but he felt no comfort, it hurt. Annika who stood behind pinky looked worried sick for him.

P- who asked you to come here! See what happened now, shivaay stop acting stubborn all the time.

Annika brought the first aid kit , pinky grabbed it and started treating him.

S- mom please, if I hadn't come  at the right ti

P- then what?

He stopped talking when his focus fell on her. Annika was quiet, staring at nothing in particular ,with hopeless eyes, shivaay felt chills in fear as he watched her like that.
