She stood admiring the beach view from the bedroom balcony. This house seemed perfect to start their life, she was more than convinced with this place. Shivaay engulfed her from behind , pulling all her hair to one side he stood fixing his chin to her shoulder. She inturn held his arm to wrap it tight around her. He smiled when she did that.

S- so, you like it?

A- hmm hmm.

S- just hmm?

A- it's not about the place for me, it's the person.

Shivaay kissed the spot on her shoulder just then,skin above the bone.

S- aww! I've started packing already. Tomorrow is fine for me.

Her reactions changed immediately.

A- so soon? You think my parents would agree at once?

S- sure not cause I know my parents won't too. I may sound selfish but that's how I want to be when it's about you, please prioritize us this time annie. We aren't doing anything wrong, in fact we waited for them, convinced them, we did everything we could.

He felt her grip loosening out, she moved to stand away from him.

A- you want me to elope or what?

Shivaay laughed out immediately.

S- come on Annika, we aren't teen kids. Why would I ask you to do that? Tell them you've decided and you're happy to come with me.

A- and what if they deny?

S- come to me anyways.

He didn't like the silence after that.

S - Annika it's not only you, even I have to do the same with my family!

He insisted holding her hand but she was still clueless of what she would tell them.

A- why is it so difficult for us alone?

She whispered this in a low tone and just leaned on his chest. Convincing them for marriage itself was a giant tedious task which they accomplished somehow. And it didn't happen immediately though, it took months, for all their efforts went in vain cause of these stupid superstitions. They're gonna kill her today, she feared.

S- I knew I had to deal with Tsunamis the day I fell for you, but now when I think of it, not only tsunamis I guess we have to deal with every calamity all at once.

Annika punched him slightly.

A- you think it's a joke, what will I tell Jo. He can't stay without me.

S- what about me then?

He complained showing some anger, annika rubbed his shoulders to keep him calm.

A- ok

S- what ok?

A- I'll start packing too.

She shouted this in his ears and he felt so joyous that he immediately picked her up , and twirled her around continuously.

She reached office by noon and started working  , with certain things still running in her mind though . Shivaay didn't share anything about his conversation with meera and she didn't choose to dig in too. She waited for him to initiate about it but he didn't till the very end . Of course Annika is aware of his past, his broken relationship, his love and all, he didn't hide things from her but the fact that it's her own friend didn't sit well for her.

How much ever she tried to avoid those thoughts , it kept disturbing her. Not to forget, that stupid app which says they're  perfect together.

Night

Shakthi, shivaay's dad stood there like some immobile object while pinky was trying to shake him out from the shock. No, he wasn't ready for this. Shivaay can't leave them. When he came home one day and revealed his relationship , shakthi was the only person who directly prioritized his son's happiness over other things. He did have some issues with those different religion and all still he couldn't think of anything beyond shivaay at one point.

Pinky and Shakthi had to wait for 4 years to finally meet their baby boy, he was treasured , pampered and cherished so much , especially by Shakthi . He would never want to spend a day without seeing shivaay. Little shivaay once had to write an essay about his favourite super hero and he ended up writing about his dad. That special is their bond. He had a big hand in convincing pinky actually, shivaay couldn't thank him enough for that.

Even with other works ready to have him engaged, shakthi would never miss the job of taking shivaay to and from school, actually college too. He was very particular in handling things related to his son and he'd never take them lightly. Recently when he came to know about all this astrology and problematic stuffs surrounding his child, he didn't know how to react. He was scared of course but at the same time shivaay's need seemed important too. For the first time he felt helpless, clueless actually, to decide anything.

And today when he heard what shivaay just said, he was shocked.

P- shakthiji, stop him!

S- sorry dad, you know I don't believe all this .

Sh- so you think this is the solution .

S- I'm not throwing my decision at you daddy, in fact I wanted to bring her into this family only when you all approve. If it was some other reason, I would've waited , but this... this is stupid dad and you know that.

P- did Annika force you to do this?

S- please mom!

P- what please? You think all of this is some joke? Shivaay I didn't step back after just consulting one, I ran to nearly 5 to 6 people and checked. Everyone says the same, and how can you expect me to keep numb now!

Sh- pinky

P- no, I won't shut. Tell me shivaay, how can I play idle when everyone predicts danger for you within a year, if you marry her.

S- seriously mom! You want to blame Annika for earthquakes now?

P- I'm not blaming her shivaay, she's a very nice girl, I love her actually but maybe it is true that you both can't share a life together. It not in your destiny maybe.

Shivaay showed his faint smile.

S- sorry mom, I don't believe in destinies because I keep faith on my decisions .

He just left saying that.

Here Annika was struggling to open the topic to her parents. They found out something was running in her mind though, by the look she's been giving them for the past 10 minutes now.

Je- what did shivaay say?

A- mom?

Je- I'm your mother annie

Jo- are they going to give you next task or something? Trecking on the himalayas?

He- what!

Her father shouted suddenly for everyone wriggled out a second.

A- what! No, no daddy. Jo keep quiet!

Jo- I thought so.

A- stop thinking.

He- what is it annie?

She turned towards her father, and neared to sit with him. Just when she was about to say something, she got a call, it was from Rudra.

A- Rudra

R- bhabi!

Annika stood up suddenly on hearing his shaking voice.

A- why are you crying? Is everything ok, where's shivaay?

R- we, we got a call and they said... baiya had an accident it

A- what! Rudra what are you saying? That can't be possible, he just dropped me and went home. He was coming home only

She spoke in a hurry still carried away by the shock .

R- yes he came, but left soon after fighting with chotimaa. He's been admitted in the hospital.

The phone slipped off her hold immediately.

Sh- doctor, doctor how is he!

Shakthi who was still trying to support an almost unconscious pinky, asked .

' Thank God, another inch close and it would've been dangerous with skull damage .Stiches done , we figured out must be external injuries only. Still, we need to take some tests and scans in sometime to be 100 percent sure. '

Sh- ok... ok please proceed.

P- can I see him! Please!!

She cried, the doctor approved.

Shivaay felt pain in his head when he woke up, he exactly knew where he was now cause the last thing he saw is another car hitting his's. Actually he won't blame the other completely, he did do rash driving this day. The hard conversation he had at home bothered him so much that he didn't mind how much he even accelerated. Why won't they never understand ! He was angry.

Pinky and Shakthi rushed in to stand beside him on either sides, she kept tracing her palm on his head face and everywhere making sure her son is alright.

P- is it paining much?

S- no, I'm fine. Please don't cry, dad tell her!

Sh- you fought with us and left to end up like this? What have you done shivaay!

He inturn expressed his worries for shivaay didn't know whom to convince first. For once, he just decided to stay idle and lied quietly until he saw Annika walking in. Who told her now! Rudra dumbo for sure. He sighed.

She stood near the bed and watched him with tear filled eyes . Her palm automatically traced the bed to seek his hand and held it tight when she finally got the grip.

P- he fought with us for you and see what has happened!

S- mom!

A- I'm sorry aunty, maybe you are right. We shouldn't be together.

Shivaay tried to sit up immediately and his shoulders ached more this time, before Annika could comfort him pinky did and made him lay back .

S- Annika .

A- I'm sorry shivaay, I tried, I really did.

She started crying, shivaay looked at his parents once who didn't delay to leave them alone there.

S- you said you would pack.

He complained and she chuckled a bit between her cries.

A- you spoke of starting together , see what happened now? Whenever we try something for us, this keeps happening. And I can't bear  if anything happens to you.

S- don't be an idiot Annika, I drove rashly. It happens with anyone, the frequency is just coincidence .

A- I thought the same shivaay, but again and again? Sorry, I'm really really sorry shivaay I can't take any risk .

S- I swear I'll slap you if you don't stop this rubbish now!

A- let me complete shivaay! I know, in this condition I shouldn't be talking to you like this, but it's good thay we end this as soon as possible. Maybe someone better is waiting for you.

S- what!

He cringed, she held his hand to insist him again.

A- listen please. I know how mad you were for Meera.

S- get out Annika, please go out! Now!

He wriggled out of her hold to push her away, she kept shaking her head throughout while crying.

A- you can never know what I'm going through right now shivaay.

Shivaay looked up at her on hearing this, her helpless reaction haunted him like anything.

A- after all these years, why would meera suddenly appear before you again? Especially when we're having troubles like this?

S- if you wanna break up with me, say you don't love me anymore and walk away, I won't stop you . Dare you speak other such nonsense like this!

If it was anything else, Annika would've stood right with him till the end but they were talking about his life here and she could take no risk about it . She herself was really shocked with her behaviour cause she never believed such stuffs anytime, infact she wasn't even a very religiously devoted person.

As things started to happen one by one, she kinda got stuck . He got hurt again and again , just like they predicted. Only she knew how she's been suffering inside from the beginning , yet, she was greedy enough to ignore it all just to be with him. But today, when Rudra called to tell her about shivaay's accident, Annika could do nothing but blame herself. She's been punished for being greedy, she thought .

When Meera's profile matched perfectly well with shivaay's, she felt really bad. With all this happening around, their encounter with Meera just added her worries. What if... what if she's the one, and not her...?

She decided to leave him for his sake and she did.
