Bored Part 2
"Oooooo, let's go there! No, wait there! Wow! Look over there!" Jon was yelling at the top of his lungs. Everyone at the Metropolis Mall gave them weird stares.
"Shut up Jon, your attracting too much attention," said Damian. He sighed as he rubbed his temples. Jon's yelling was starting to give him a headache.
Jon sheepishly smiled at him. He then walked proceeded to look around everywhere, taking in everything. Damian found the curious look on the younger boy's face very amusing. He secretly smiled, knowing that he made the right decision inviting, well more like forcing, Jon to hang out with him. He could tell that Jon was happy too.
"Let's go get ice cream Damian!" yelled Jon. He had the most excited look on his face.
"-Tt-, ice cream is not healthy for your body. It will not benefit you in crime fighting at all-"
Damian was cut off by Jon grabbing Damian's arm and sprinting off. Jon suddenly stopped at let go of Damian. "Last one to the ice cream store is a rotten fish!"
Damian smirked at Jon. There was no way that he was going to pass up a chance to beat Jon in something.
"No super speed alien!"
Jon pouted but began to start sprinting. Damian caught up to him and they both ran through the mall. Everyone gave them weird looks, but they both ignored them. The boys were smiling, happy to be in each other's presence.
"Damian? Didn't we pass the ice cream place?" panted Jon. Both boys stopped and looked at each other. They then turned around and realized that the ice cream store was about one-fourth of a mile behind.
Jon burst into laughter, and Damian actually joined him. They both were panting and laughing at the same time. Damian wiped the sweat from his forehead, but continued to laugh. Just being in the presence of Jon made him want to smile. Just being in the presence of the young alien just made Damian's day a whole lot better. He could stare into the taller boys eyes and never get bored.
Jon was also truly happy, he had just made Damian Wayne laugh! He rarely ever saw Damian's smile or heard Damian's laughter. Knowing that he had been the cause of this event made him feel special inside.
After a couple of moments, both boys began to walk back. Jon was still panting, while Damian had regained his strict composure.
Halfway between the walk, Jon spoke up. "I still won Damian."
"-Tt-, we both know that I won."
"Nuh-uh!"
"Yes, I won the race."
"No you didn't!"
Damian glared at him, while Jon stuck his tongue out at the older boy. They both then entered the ice cream store.
Jon's face immediately lit up with excitement.
"Oh my gosh! They have bubble-gum! And rocky road! And rainbow! And birthday cake!" exclaimed Jon.
"What can I get you boys?" asked the ice cream vendor. She gave them a warm smile, which Jon returned.
"Hmmmmm, I'm still thinking...You can go first Damian," said Jon. He scrunched his eyebrows in thought.
"I will have one scoop of vanilla," said Damian.
"Any toppings, hon?" asked the kind woman.
"No," replied Damian. Jon gave him an odd look, but decided to question him later. The lady scooped some vanilla ice cream and handed it to Damian,
"And you?" asked the woman.
"Ummm, I'll have half a scoop of bubble gum and half a scoop of rainbow!"
"Okay, any toppings?"
"I'll have, the M&Ms, skittles, chocolate chips, vanilla chocolate chips, Snickers, Kit Kats, gummy worms, Hersheys, annnndddd the brownies," said Jon. The lady chuckled and proceeded to make Jon's heavy ice cream order. She then handed it to a beaming Jon.
Damian, however, was cringing at Jon's ice cream. Who the heck puts that many that many toppings on an ice cream?
The lady walked over to the cash register. "Your total will be $5.33."
Jon suddenly realized that he had no money. "Erm, Damian? I left my allowance at home."
"Don't worry Jon, I have more than enough for the both of us. My father is Bruce Wayne," said Damian.
The ice cream vendor gaped at then. "Your dad is Bruce Wayne!"
Damian sighed. "Yes."
The lady snapped her fingers. "That's where I knew you from! Don't worry, it's on the house."
Damian sighed. He knew he was supposed to like the special treatment, but it sometimes got annoying.
"Oh my gosh, and your Damian's best friend, Jon Kent!"
Jon slightly blushed at being acknowledged as Damian's best friend. But both boys found it creepy how she knew their names.
"Can I get a selfie with you boys?" asked the lady.
"Absolutely not-"
Jon cut off Damian. "Sure! It's the least we could do for the free ice cream!"
Damian sighed but reluctantly agreed. The lady took out her phone and snapped a picture with both then boys. Jon was smiling, while Damian was glaring at the camera.
"Thanks so much!" exclaimed the lady.
"Anytime," beamed Jon. "Bye!" Both Jon and Damian found a table and sat down. Damian started to eat his vanilla ice cream. Jon took a big spoonful of his and shoved it in his mouth. He beamed continued to stuff the ice cream in his mouth, rapidly.
"-Tt, what the hell are you eating Jon?" asked Damian.
Jon stopped and looked at him. "I should be asking you the same question Damian."
"What? I find plain ice cream the most satisfying," said Damian. Jon gave him a curious look before staring down at his spoon. He smirked and filled his spoon up with ice cream. He then quickly thrusted the spoon into Damian's mouth. Damian gasped in shock, but slowly swallowed the ice cream.
"That tasted awesome, right?" asked Jon.
"-Tt-, now your alien germs are all over me!"
"But it was still awesome, right?"
"It tasted like shit."
Jon glared at him. "What's so great about plain vanilla?"
"It's just simply better."
"Can I have some then?"
Damian sighed. "I'm pretty sure that you have had plain vanilla ice cream before Jon."
"But I wanna taste yours," whined Jon.
Jon was about to thrust his spoon into Damian's ice cream, but Damian pulled it away.
"Hey!" exclaimed Jon .
"There is no way that you are sticking your disgusting spoon in my ice cream."
Jon looked down at his spoon and and realized that it was covered in candy and bubble gum ice cream. "Then feed me!"
Jon opened his mouth and closed his eyes. He wasn't actually excepting Damian to do anything.
Damian told himself to ignore Jon's behavior. But he couldn't help but think about what Jon suggested.
"Only because your so damm cute," thought Damian. He then scooped a spoonful of ice cream and gently placed it in Jon's mouth.
Jon opened his eyes in shock, but gulped down the ice cream.
"Still not as good as mine though," said Jon. Damian sighed in annoyance.
Both boys finished their ice creams and trashed the bowls.
Damian started to walk and realized that him and Jon had just shared ice cream. His first feeling was disgust, but then it turned into happiness. He was pretty sure that that counted as an indirect kiss.
He smiled at the thought and stopped to wait for Jon.
"Where to next Dami?"
Damian growled. "Do not call me that name."
"Fine...Dami."
Damian glared at the taller boy, but stopped when he saw his smiling face.
It was like the whole world stopped. Damian could stare at the smile forever. It captivated him, the way his light skin shined in the light, the way his smile lit up the word, the way his eyes grew bigger when he was happy. But damm, those eyes. They were the perfect shade of sky blue. They held such life and joy.
Damian had acknowledged that he was, in fact, in love with Jonathan Kent.
