Chapter One
My life had been nothing but lies and the selfishness of my brothers, Sam and Dean. Ever since I was born, I had a responsibility. I honestly hate the idea of how I was the only girl in their lives that they had to care about. That is why, on Sam's seventeenth birthday, I got up and left, copying dad's journal before leaving. I left a note on the bed, telling them to leave me be. I hated it there, but now that I found out he was dead,I wanted to see my brothers.
~I run towards the Impala, getting a steady grip on my knife. He charges towards Sam in a way that scared me to death. Sam stood there, his finger on his twelve gauge's trigger, ready to shoot at any moment. Sam shoots at it, stopping it in it's tracks, and then slits its throat, the thick black ooze coming out of it. "Well, get the borax," I gasp, trying not to show weakness,"And decapitate this sonofabitch Levithian." Sam smiles, grasping the bottle filled with the stuff. He pours it over the already reviving creature, not caring about the horrid screams that tore at my ears. Sam wipes his hands on his now blood stained jeans. "Another one down, " he laughs, putting his slightly bloody hand up for a high five. I leave him hanging, only to receive a roll of the eyes once more. The laughter soon dies down, leaving us in total silence ,until Sam'a phone rings, cutting through the silence.
~"Hello," I answer, wondering why she is calling this late,"Rebecca. Crap, Becca! You know..." She cuts me off. "Sammy," she whines,"Please listen to me. I need you and Dean to get your ass to Sedona. Now. A few Levithians are here. In a hotel where a ghost crew is going for a so called lockdown." I stay silent, not sure what to expect. "What is the name of the crew?" I ask, hesitating before doing so. I hear shuffling of papers and the clicking of keys on a laptop."A crew named Ghost Adventures," she says with a hintof distraction. She hangs up, leaving dead silence on the other end. I hate those people. I remember that time when we chased down a ghost chasing crew, and they almost killed themselves, twice. I tell Dean, and he just hops in the impala, not saying word, leaving me to myself.
~Becca is a fool. She left the life, and Sam is naïve half the time, the only reason why she called is because of this job. I hate these idjits. I make the sad decision to go to Sedona, along with the fact that some idiots are getting ready for an investigation in a Grand Jerome Hotel. I can't help but wonder what she looks like. My mind instantly goes back to the day she left.
"Dean, " she whispered harshly," I am not sure I need this lifestyle. I am leaving sister,I am your twin. I can't handle the fact that I was left alone with Sam on a regular basis. I need to leave. " She shakes her arm free from my grip. I feel frozen as she gives me a hug, whispering something about Sam, and tells me not to mention anything to Sam. I let go of her now cold hand, and watch her walk out of the life.
~I turn down a narrow path inside the huge home, fumbling with my flashlight. I hear a small thud from the other side of the hallway. "Nick," I whisper,"Grab the recorder and hand it to me." I hear thoughts creep into my mind as I feel the tingling of chills go up my spine. "If there are spirits here, please listen to us. We want to help you and the people who live here. I need you to cross over." I get no response ,but as I turn, I hear a small amount of whispering into my ear. "The Winchesters are coming ," the voice says,a hint of familiarity at the sound of those names. Aaron stood there, looking at me with a worried look. The investigation was over, thank god. Then I realize that we are headed to a Grand Jerome Hotel in Arizona.
Two days later
~I get a phone call from Sam as soon as I see the Impala pull up next to a van with a title scrawled out in bold letters. Ghost Adventures. The lead investigator, Zak Bagans, ran into me yesterday, sending chills down my spine. In a good way, and, he was pretty cute and cool. I flashback to the moment I ran into him.
I was looking for a paper in the hallway to my room, 665,when he ran into me, he seemed like a brat most of the time I saw him. "I apologize for this," I said, picking up the papers quickly, not wanting him to think I was crazy by reading any of my research. "Rebecca Winchester," I say, holding my hand ,watching him flinch as the name is said. He stares at my arm, looking at the intricate tattoos that had several stories. He touches my hand as we both grab a paper, and I feel a tingling sensation in my heart.
~I see Becca come out of the small office, holding a small amount of money. I feel like Sam is willing to kill someone else for her. He is way too protective of her. I feel like a piece of crap, letting her go. I can't help but notice that she has more tattoos than before, and damn, was she tall. She had silky, auburn hair, with a small strand of it sticking out, like it had its own mind. Her green eyes were brighter than ever, shining in the bright light of the sun. I couldn't help but wonder how many people she has fallen in love with, and broken their hearts. I remember when we chased down a wendigo together, before she left.
"Dean," she says, knocking me out of a daydream,"How is my brother? Come on,get in my car,we can talk on the way there." She walks over to her car, a purple Pontiac GTO,a beauty. She gets in, grabbing a tape, labeled: MCR. I know they aren't classic rock, but they aren't that bad. I choose to ignore her ,and she rolls her eyes repeatedly.
~A few people talked to us, and it seems as there is something far from sinister in this town. "Zak," Aaron questions ,"What are you looking at? Is it that girl from 665? I don't blame you, but..." I cut him off, not caring about his comments. "Aaron," I mutter under my breath,"I went to high school with her. We graduated ahead of our class. It can't be coincidence that she is here, after the incident at the Stanley Hotel ,we finally meet." Aaron and Nick stood there, looking at me like I was crazy. I get the sense that she knew I was here. I can't help but wonder how many people she had left brokenhearted. I never thought she was going to end up like this. I see her flash a quick smile at me as she drives off with who I assume are her brothers.
We walk into the small office,my shoes clicking on the pale tile floors. Sam and Dean need to hurry up with the impala. I can't take this anymore. People talking about how much Ghost Adventures is amazing. It gets on my nerves, I need to escape this. Those guys don't know the half of it, they don't even think before they step into a haunted location. The tall one has some major balls, speaking of ghosts like they are toys.People died because of the Levithian demons, and he asks questions directed towards them. Someone should slap them. I take my mind off of it and leave the cramped office. Dean and Sam can find me in town.
~We walk on the road to the police station, when I see the girl from the hotel. I tell Nick and Aaron to start rolling the cameras as I see her come out of the station. I feel like asking her questions if she is a skeptic."Miss, " I call out,her beautiful green eyes stare up at me," we would like to have a chance to ask questions,if you have time." She smiles, leaving me breathless. "Why not," she replies,"I have time." She looks at Nick, then at Aaron, and back to me. I smile at her enthusiasm, and nod.
