Only One Glance

Jensen x Reader

Rounding the corner of my trailer, I stopped as soon as she came into my view. Standing in the middle of the concrete courtyard, dressed simply in a pair of jeans and a light blue sweater, she captured my attention immediately.

Maybe it was the way the sun was shining that day, sending golden strands throughout her hair. Or maybe it was the way her head was tilted back, her eyes closed as she stared up at the vibrant sky. As if nothing else mattered in that moment except the feel of the sun on her face.

Whatever it was, I knew I was smitten. Completely and utterly in love with this woman standing in front of me. Sure, I knew her name, and that she was starting to work on the set of Supernatural, but this was the first time we had spent together. But I had this feeling, deep within my soul that we weren't meant to be together. That this truly was love at first site. Something he had never believed in before now.

"Hello?" She asked, her voice music to his ears, as she tilted her face down, her eyes searching his. No doubt he looked like a fool, standing there, staring at her in awe like some creep. "You're Jensen, aren't you?"

"Yeah, my name's Jensen," I stuttered, blushing when I realized I just repeated my name like a fool.

"I know that," she giggled, holding her hand out. "My name's Y/N, but I heard you were normally a lot smoother with ladies than that."

"And who told you that?" I asked.

"Jared. I told him how nervous I was about meeting you, and he said not to worry about it. That you would be, quote, smooth and debonaire with me," she giggled again. "But don't' worry, I like you this way even better."

"Do you want to eat dinner?" I blurted out, rolling my eyes when I realized once again how stupid I sounded. Trying to get control of myself, I took a deep breath. "I mean, after you're done getting acquainted with the set and crew, maybe we could get dinner together. As a date."

"I'd like that," she answered, just as my name was called. Smiling widely, I quickly set up a time to meet before rushing off. Turning to glance at her one last time, I almost ran into the side of my trailer. She shook her head before moving on to the makeup trailer.

"So, I see you met Y/N," Jared spoke up, leaning against his trailer, an apple in his hand.

"Yeah," I sighed dreamily. "Jared, I'm in love."

I knew it had to be love filtering through my body, giving me butterflies in my belly, making my step light. That and a joy I had never felt before. This joy spread through my entire body, filling me with a light, giving me more energy than I knew what to do with.

"Sure, love," Jared didn't seem convinced. "Jensen, you just met the girl."

"That doesn't matter. I finally believe in love at first sight!" I exclaimed over my shoulder, heading towards the wardrobe set, even though my mind was on my upcoming date.

"And that's how your Mother and I met," I told Addy as I held her on my lap. Tristan sat on the floor at my feet, listening to every word. Y/N stood off to the side, listening, her hand resting on her swollen belly. "She was kind enough to give an awkward man a second chance, and I made sure she never regretted it."

"Ugh," Tristan mumbled, standing up. Only five years old, he wasn't afraid to have his own opinion, often different than what his mother and I thought it should be. He was stubborn, and smart, and kept us on our toes. Addy was our little sweetheart, only three, but sweeter than candy. "I don't care for this lovey dovey stuff," he muttered, leaving the room.

"I love it," Addy assured me. "I love both you and Mommy."

"And I love both my favorite girls. From the very first moment I saw them," I said, my eyes meeting Y/N's, letting her know how truthful my words were.
