Backstory: Layla had found out about the supernatural pretty early. When she was 13 she was attacked by a Shtriga, her parents had been in the hunting life year before she was born but stopped when they found out her mom was with child. Once she recovered and was discharged from the hospital, her parents sat her down and explained that humans and animals weren't the only things that walked the earth. They gave her the choice of staying with them and hunting or going to live with her grandparents in Lawrence and as much as she wished she could help her parents go back to hunting she decided to go live with the grandparents and continue her education. Layla had gotten phone calls from her parents every other week but they suddenly stopped her senior year, she had figured the worst but there was no proof. Layla had graduated high school with a scholarship to Stanford where she was going to study journalism but as much as she wanted to go to college, she decided that she should get back into the hunting life.
