It had been only a few days since Sam had died. You were on a hunt with Sam and Dean and when you went to shoot the demon, Sam got caught in the crossfire.

"The five stages of Grief" Cas said to Sam's spirit as the two secretly watched you. "Denial."

"Sammy, please wake up... It's not that bad... You can come back from this... You'd be good as new" You whispered holding Sam's lifeless hand, kneeling beside the bed in the motel room.

"Anger" Cas mumbled.

You let go of Sam's hand standing up and grabbing the nearest breakable object, an empty bottle of Whiskey, and threw it at a wall, watching it smash to small pieces of glass.

"Bargaining" Cas said watching you.

"Please... I'd do anything to see his smile again... Just once... I need him... Please..." You mumbled shrinking down to the floor.

"Depression" Cas whispered as days passed by.

"(Y/N), you need to eat..." Dean said in a sympathetic tone.

"I'm fine..." You mumbled not looking at him, only looking at Sam's lifeless body.

"And finally... Acceptance"

"I can't just sit here... I'm sorry this happened Sam... It's time I move on... I need to hunt down the son of a bitch that caused this to happen... I love you Sammy..." You whispered as you stood next to Dean.

Sam's body was wrapped up. Ready for a hunters funeral... It was time for him to be put to rest.

"I'll take care of her Sam... I promise... See you in a while Sammy. When our time is up..." Dean said as he lit the Pyre.

The two of you stood there for a couple of hours before you both got back in the Impala. Silent tears ran down your face as Dean drove off into the distance.

"What now?" Sam asked Cas.

"You move on and wait for them..."
