"Who the Hell are you?" asked an appetizing voice when you popped next to your boss.
"Y/N. I'm guessing you're the short Winchester," you said, cocking an eyebrow at him.
"Clean up Ramsey for me if you would dear," said Crowley and you glared at him. "You're free to go after that."
"Really?" you asked, feeling the closest thing to actual happiness since you turned in the first place.
"Enjoy unemployment," said Crowley popping out of there as you smiled.
"I will," you said, quickly going over to the hellhound and setting it aflame, the Winchesters watching you carefully. When it was gone you stood with a huge smile. Finally free. "Oh, this is the best day ever."
"Maybe not," said Dean when you turned around. He had the infamous demon knife in hand and you saw Sam with an angel blade drawn.
"Oh come on," you said, looking between them before settling your gaze on Dean. "I'll be good, I swear. Pinky promise guys."
"Not really something we want to take a chance on," said Sam, taking a step forward. You groaned and held up your hands.
"I'm not going to fight good people anymore. I won't," you said, holding firm in your footing. Dean came over to you fast, his blade out and pointed at you. You realized after a moment that you could easily steal it if you wanted. You realized in the next that Dean had done it on purpose. "If you want to end me then do it. I'd prefer you give me a chance but you're hunters and I understand where you're coming from."
"Do you?" asked Dean, moving his blade away, your hands falling to your sides. "You seem a little too...happy for a demon."
"Well I used to hunt too before I sold my soul for my partner. Then the dick had to go and cheat on me before my ten years were even up. I wasn't a bad person when I was one," you said. Dean started walking around you as you turned your attention to Sam. "Are you going to kill me or no?"
"As long as you keep to your word and stay out of trouble, I think we can let you pass," said Sam reluctantly. You sighed in relief as Dean came back into view, giving you a strange look.
"I don't know. It might be safer to keep an eye on her at first until we can really trust her," said Dean. You shook your head and managed to keep calm. You'd been trapped for so long you weren't about to just let it happen again.
"Dean please, don't lock me up in some devil's trap or-"
"That's not what I meant," said Dean. "We bring her home, have her stay with us for a little while. Sort of like a half-way house. You won't be a prisoner there."
"Dean, can I talk to you?" asked Sam, grabbing Dean and dragging him out of earshot. It didn't matter, you knew Sam was telling Dean he was insane for asking you to come with them. Truth be told, Dean was being ridiculous. For all they knew, you could very well hurt them or worse. But there was something about the older Winchester that made you trust him and frankly, like him.
"So," you said when they came back over. "Am I getting a bedroom or a cell?"
"You do one thing we don't like and it's in the dungeon," said Sam. "Understand?"
"You guys sound like you'll be fun roommates."
You tried to make yourself useful while you were at the bunker. They didn't say it but it was unspoken that you didn't go out without one of them, at least not for hours on end. Well...Dean let you do as you please but you tried not to stay away too long for Sam's peace of mind. That was fine with you. You wanted a home again and this place had certainly become one for you after a few months of being there.
"Laundry Sammy," you said, carrying the basket into his room and taking his clothes out, placing them at the end of the bed. "Sorry. Sam," you said, scolding yourself for calling him that aloud. You couldn't trick yourself into thinking he was your friend, not really. Sam didn't like you you were pretty certain.
"Y/N," said Sam, looking up from his book. "You've got to stop apologizing all the time. It's getting on my nerves."
"Sorry," you said, wincing when you saw Sam's face. "I don't want to get in trouble is all."
"Go tell Dean that I'm done," said Sam, seeing the confusion cross your face. "You can come and go as you please, ya little devil. Go do what you want. He's trusted you from the start. I was the one who was wary of you."
"I know," you said. Sam had always been the hurdle, the one you didn't want to cross or upset. You always knew Dean would be more forgiving of you if you slipped up.
"You're family, Y/N," said Sam, your eyes going wide. "Yeah, I don't see you as the horrible monster you think I do. I haven't for a long, long time. I don't want you to be scared of me anymore, okay?"
"Thank you, Sam," you said, smiling wide at him before turning to leave.
"And Y/N? You can call me Sammy."
"Dean, guess what?" you asked, bouncing into his room with the laundry. "Sammy likes me."
"Son of a bitch," said Dean, tossing his magazine to the side. Well you weren't expecting that reaction. "He knows how much I like you. You didn't say yes did you?"
"Say yes to what?" you asked. Dean was fuming and you were afraid he might go actually beat Sam up if you didn't find out what was going on.
"When he asked you out. I told him I was going to do it this week finally," said Dean, looking at you and hoping he had a chance.
"Dean, Sam didn't ask me out. He told me he liked me, that I was family. On account of the whole I'm a demon thing I always thought he hated me," you said, giving Dean a shy smile. He groaned for a second before putting his head in his hands. "You like me?"
"Is it wrong that I do?" asked Dean. "Is it wrong that you're a demon and still a kinder person than I am?"
"That's not true," you said, taking a seat beside him. "You're an incredible man Dean. A good one too."
Dean was quiet but had a small smile on his face. You reached over and put a hand on his leg, opening it palm up for him. You felt his gaze on you as you did your best to not return it, patiently waiting for him to make his move.
"Well," he said, wrapping his hand around yours and giving it a gentle squeeze. "We already know how I feel. What about you sweetheart? I got a chance?"
"I would never have let you get that close to me with that blade if I didn't like you Dean," you said. "Demons... you know our souls are a little different, tarnished and everything."
"Yeah, I know that all too well," said Dean.
"You make me feel like I'm human again. It's...surreal. I thought I'd lost that. You gave it back to me the second I saw you. I think it's pretty clear that I like you too," you said. Dean smiled and you knew he was thinking about that thing you'd discussed, about the cure to turn you back.
You could only imagine how head over heels he'd be in love with you when you could return it fully.
