You stared at the clock, counting the seconds that passed in-sync with the Ticking! sound that echoed in your silent bedroom.

You constantly tapped your pen on your notebook, procrastinating towards finishing your school work for the weekend. You sighed loudly, irritated at how slowly time was passing. Usually when your dad is around-
You sighed, quietly this time, and much more sadly than with irritation.
Your dad is Jared Padalecki, an actor who works on the show 'Supernatural' as Sam Winchester, a leading character. He's out filming for half of the year and comes to visit you every month for a week. The crew are very understanding, given the tragic history of your family.
You sighed once again, feeling tears in your eyes.
Your mother has passed away two years ago in a car accident. When the paramedics had reached she was conscious but they couldn't reach the hospital in time. Jared, being the soft and sweet person he is, doesn't want to or feel the need to marry anyone else. Anyways, he hasn't met anyone yet that could ever replace your mother.
Right now, you anxiously waited for your dad to come home but part of you actually feared it. His visits were starting to-
"Rose! Come on down for some dessert!" Your 'baby-sitter', more accurately 'temporary guardian', Rachel called out. She's a university student in the second year, taking care of you while Jared is away as a means of earning money to pay her tuition fees.
You huffed. You didn't know why you were really agitated this time around Jared had gone for filming...
*FLASHBACK* (2 months ago)
"Dad please, you don't have to do this. Please," You begged as you watched him fold his shirts and tuck them into his suitcase. "Rose, I need to. It's my job and otherwise, how am I supposed to earn?" He countered and you frowned.
"Take me with you PLEASE," You pleaded, bringing your hands together. Your father looked at you with sorrow, "You know I can't do that Roza. You've got school and I'm going for completing work."
You sulked and sat down on the bed, next to his suitcase. "Come on honey. I'll be back after a month and we'll spend all our time together. You're grown up enough to know I have no other choice," He kissed your head, "We'll talk everyday, I promise, even if I'm super busy okay?"
You fidgeted with your hands then nodded slowly. "Now come on, you want some icecream?" He smiled at you and you smiled back softly.
*FLASHBACK ENDED*
You didn't realise that a tear had fell down your cheek while remembering that memory from what seemed like a long time ago. A month after that, you weren't the same cheerful person Jared loved and knew as his daughter.
Something changed in you...
"Rose, where are you?" Rachel called with concern. "Coming," You replied when you opened your room door. You made sure there was no evidence of sadness, anger or tears on your face and put on a happy expression, even though you felt far from it.
"I thought you'd be excited for dessert," Rachel looked at you with an eyebrow raised. "Sorry Rachel, I was doing something," You said and she came over and side-hugged you. She's a really nice person.
"That's okay kiddo. If you want to talk about anything you can come to me comprende?" She said and you nodded with a smile.

A couple of hours later...
"H-Hi dad, how are you?" You asked flatly. He looked at you suspiciously then shrugged it off, coming up to you and giving you a hug. Rachel had just left. Jared paid her in advance every month.
You felt odd but something forced you to hug back. "Hey, you okay?" He questioned. "I'm... I-I," You felt stressed for a reason, "I need a minute dad."
You pulled away from the hug and rushed to your bedroom. Jared followed behind you, constantly asking what's wrong and calling your name. All you did was ignore him and slam the door shut, locking it.
You brought your knees close to your chest and hugged them, trembling and crying as your dad banged on your door and called your name.
You tried your best to block his voice out. It hurt more now that he was hear and there was no way of solving your grief.

You peeked up to see that your dad was opening the bedroom door. You stared in horror as the door creaked open, hugging your knees more tightly. You had forgotten that your dad has keys to all the rooms of the house.
"Go away dad! PLEASE GO!" You yelled as you sobbed. He looked at you with heartbreak, "Is this how I should be welcomed when I come back after a month Rose? I thought you'd be happy."
You didn't respond, you didn't know how to or what to say. You felt your bed slump a bit then a large hand was placed on your shoulder.
"Rose, talk to me," He requested and you sighed. "Dad p-please, I don't want to t-talk," You trembled, wiping your cheeks and holding your arms.
"Come on sweetheart, I hate seeing you like this. Tell me what's-"
Your blood started to boil, "Okay, you want you know what's up?! Every time you go away for your job, I have a GREAT time on my own growing up without a father. That's fine right? Because in this world you have to be independent and responsible and all that other crap!"
Jared looked at you with shock. He was completely speechless right now, and you kept expressing your deepest feelings.
"Every time you go away... The moment I start to get used to you being away from me, you come back home. It doesn't help dad. Coming back for just a week after a whole month doesn't help one bit! You think it does but it hurts worse because... because I-"
You broke into a wave of tears. You buried your face in your hands. "It's like I don't have parents anymore. It's like you don't care about me and only care about your stupid job!" You cried out and he pulled you into his chest, rubbing your back slowly. Jared's eyes moistened while you spoke.
"Y-You know, with mom gone it's been horrible and I... I don't want to lose you too dad. I need you in my life," You stuttered, "I love you dad."
Jared held your face in his hands and looked you straight in the eye, "Look at me Rose. I would give my life up for you. I love you more than you can imagine and don't you dare think there isn't anything I would give to make sure you're my happy girl okay?"
Tears rolled down his cheeks and it made you want to cry more. "I-I miss mom, of course I do. I think of her everyday but... do you think she'd feel happy seeing us like this? Seeing both of us grieving and completely messed up?" He said and you shook your head.
He wiped your tears with his thumbs, "I would take you with me, I wouldn't even think twice but..."
He stopped abruptly, a thought coming into his mind.
"You know what? Let me take you to the set this time around. You can stay for a month atleast," Jared said and you looked at him with confusion.
"B-But school-"
"Screw school! You can catch up, you're so smart Roza," He smiled softly and kissed your forehead, "Your happiness is more important to me than your grades. Hey, you'll study better when you're happy."
"Now let's go downstairs. I've got a surprise from Misha and Jensen," He grinned and you looked at him with excitement.
