Rapid Eye Movement (Castiel Pt. 1)

Dean paced around impatiently and frustrated. "What the hell is wrong with her?!" He yelled as he stared at your close-to-lifeless body. "I don't know Dean! Quit yelling, it's not helping," Sam argued.

You had been in a massive fight against some creature, till something really unexpected happened. You have been comatose for days. The only sign of you being alive was your steady, slow breathing.

"Cas, where have you been?!" Dean shouted after he heard the flapping of wings behind him. Castiel looked like a mess ever since you had gone in this state. He was more emotionless than usual, hair and clothes messy, stained with dried up tears. You're really close to him.

"Dean, s-she should be in a h-hospital," Cas struggled to say. He didn't dare to look at you, ever since what happened last time. He was drowned with guilt, even though he didn't do anything, and disappeared for two days completely, sobbing and crying himself throughout the day and night.

"Well we can't exactly tell them 'Oh our friend was attacked by a supernatural creature. We're not sure what it is but we think it sucks the life and dreams out of people, leaving them in a state like this'," Dean sat down and opened up a bottle of beer.

Cas was about to say something but Sam spoke. "He's right Cas, we can't take her. She's in this state because of supernatural powers and normal medication or care won't help," Sam sighed. Castiel sat on the couch, staring at the floor.

"We just need to keep searching," Sam looked to Cas, "She'll be fine, don't worry." Dean stepped forward, examining your hand.

He held it, looking at your fingers. "What is that? What's happening?!" Dean questioned and Sam moved closer. There were black veins on your hand that were growing onto the rest of your arm. "Some kind of spread of something. Not sure what," Sam said as he stood up.

Suddenly, you started twitching as if you were having a seizure. You couldn't breathe properly. You were still unconscious, eyes shut tight. Your feet started shaking, then you snatched your arm away from Dean.

They held you down once the movements grew. You screamed in pain, all of this happening without you aware of it.

"C-CAS!" You shouted, making the Angel get up and rush to you. "P-Pleasssee don't hurt m-my Cas," You cried out. Cas bit his lip to stop himself from breaking down. He held your hand and squeezed it. You calmed down a bit, but it didn't help much.

The boys stepped back a bit as Castiel bent down, so that he was eye level with your body that was laying down on the couch. He moved closer to your ear, whispering in Enochian:

'Elasa bolape en sunshine crp sunshine'
'Elasa conisa ol ci ta skies bolape grey'

*Zooms into your mind*

You screamed. The pain was too much. You felt faint, you would probably pass out in a few moments.

'Elasa bolape en sunshine crp sunshine'

You stopped, ignoring your pain. That voice, you hadn't heard it for a very long.

'Elasa conisa ol ci ta skies bolape grey'

You knew what those words translated to. "CAS! CAS! Are you there? Please help me!" You shouted at the top of your lungs.

The voice stopped. You were going to cry. It was lonely in your mind, there was no one with you.

"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are grey," You sang back through your tears. You had no will to finish the rest. Everything hurt so much.

You sat on the ground and pulled your knees to your chest. You burried your face into your hands and continued to sob... All alone.

*Zooms out of your mind*

"Cas..." You mumbled. You had calmed down completely.

He kissed your hand, placing his forehead on it and crying softly. "Come back to me [y/n], please," He pleaded.

"I'm going in," The Angel said with no second thoughts. "What? Cas, we know nothing about what's in her mind," Sam tried to reason. "Those veins... It could be bad and I'm not prepared to lose you too," Dean gave him a sad look.

"She's not gone... And I'll be fine," Cas said stepping closer to your body. He scanned your every part, filling with more grief. He turned to the brothers, giving them a look of sorrow.

"I have to do this. Right now we don't have anything. Maybe I can help her out," Castiel said and Sam nodded. Dean was weary about it, he sighed.

Castiel nodded and walked over to your body. The Winchesters stood up and walked over too, watching Castiel as he put his two fingers in your forehead. There was a bright light and all of a sudden, the Angel in the trench coat was gone.

*In your mind*

Castiel walked around on the gravel path. The ground made a crunching sound as he made his way towards a house. He had seen that house many times, he'd visit you sometimes in your dreams. This was where you had stayed after your were orphaned.

He saw you and smiled with relief.  He ran to you as you walked around in the lush green garden.

"[y/n]..." Cas said softly. You turned around, expecting to find nothing. You jumped into his arms, hugging him as tight as you could without suffocating him.

You pulled away, holding his arms. "What are you doing here?" You asked. "I couldn't see you like that any longer so I came to help you," Castiel explained.

You caressed his cheek, you were so happy to see him. He was going to say something else but you cut him off by kissing him. You didn't realised how much you had missed him. He kissed you so passionately, it was as if everything was normal, everything was fine. His hand was in your hair, while your arms were around his neck.

You pulled away, placing your forehead on his. "I'm so happy you're here with me," You said breathlessly.

You squeezed your eyes shut, your hand immediately going to the side of your head, pressing it. You would have fallen to the ground if Castiel hadn't held you up. Tears started flow long down your cheeks as you screamed in agony.

He held your arms, panicking as he tried to keep your standing. "[y/n]? Are you okay?!" Castiel questioned  with worry. The world around you darkened, the sky turned dark grey while a shadow draped you from above.

You screamed again, this time shrill. Even Castiel flinched, looking up at the sky with concern. "[y/n]... You need to get a hold of yourself," Castiel said. You struggled to breathe, the pain was too intense.

"I can't Cas! I CAN'T! IT'S TOO MUCH!" You yelled at him. He held the sides of your head, looking staring into your eyes. "Look at me, [y/n] you can survive this," He said strongly, while tears rolled down your cheeks, "I can't lose you..."

He pulled you into a hug, rocking you from side to side. "En Angel en turbs Angel. Elasa will paaotza, ol om," He whispered into your ear as he rubbed your back.

You smiled, understanding each word. "I will survive," You repeated Castiel's words to yourself.

"The only thing you need to do, and I think it will work, is find the exit door," Castiel said and you thought for a second.

"How am I supposed to do that?" You asked and he held your hand. "Just close your eyes, relax, and think about... memories," Castiel answered and looked to the floor. You lifted his chin a bit, asking, "What's wrong?"

He sighed, "To wake up, it's been said that you need to find your deepest darkest memory." He looked up to you and kissed your forehead, "I-I... I'm sorry."

You took a deep breath, "It's fine. As long as I get to be with you for the rest of my life."

You shut your eyes slowly and when you opened them again, you took a step back, shocked to find yourself standing in an old dusty hallway with wooden floors and walls. To your relief, Castiel was still next to you.

You could hear sounds, people talking. It sounded extremely familiar. You squeezed Castiel's hand and walked to the closest door to you on the right. It was ajar, and you slowly pushed it, revealing... You and Cas sitting on your bed. It was your bedroom.

"Okay so 'En dooain boolapee [y/n]'? Is that correct?" You heard yourself in the memory say. Cas chuckled, "En dooain 'bolape', not boolapee." You laughed, "I'm horrible at Enochian. I'll never learn it." Cas kissed your hand, "You'll learn, you're so intelligent." You blushed a bit because of how kindly he said it. "Ol aziazor elasa," He said softly. You thought for a moment then smirked, "What does that mean?" Castiel ran a hand through his hair, "I-I love you."

You smiled. Castiel teaching you Enochian was probably one of your most treasured memories. You had so much fun and you got to know him better.

You shut the door and walked ahead. You could hear voices and noises from the room to your left as well. It was shut tight and you peeked in quietly. You took yourself away from the door, red in the face, and shut it quickly.

"Oh uh, we don't need to go in there... Hehe, private stuff," You said, a bit embarrassed. "What memory is inside?" Cas asked with curiosity. If he wasn't holding your hand he would've opened the door. You were glad he was.

"Oh nothing just-"

"Cassss," You heard your memory self moan loudly. "Say it louder [y/n]," Castiel from the memory demanded.

You pulled Cas away from the door.

"MOVING ON!" You hurried to the next one, then the next and then the next. It was happy memory, after happy, after happy. Virtually all your memories with Cas were happy ones.

To your dread, you had reached the dark side of the hallway, the one that literally screamed out 'DARKEST MEMORY OF ALL'. You looked at Cas with hesitation but he nodded as he squeezed your hand.

You opened the door, it creaked eerily. You were expecting the memory of when you had been possessed by a demon and you had beaten Castiel to bits, he didn't touch a finger on you that day, he didn't fight back. It was the worst thing ever and you felt extremely guilty after the event.

But it wasn't that one. It was a memory where you had to think for a moment on whether it was real of made up, whether it actually happened to you or not.

But then it came back, drowning you in despair, anger and sorrow. You feared going in, the memory... It was too horrid. You were about to run and cry.

It was the memory that you made an effort to forget. You tucked it away on the top shelf in your 'memory rack', a shelf that rarely anyone reaches to get something.

It was the memory of that day... The day that-
