Yayyy, it was my Birthday yesterday (29th April) so I thought why not?! 😂😋

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

You turned to your side, glaring at your ringing phone on the bedside table. You shut your alarm off, set for 9:30 AM.

You picked it and sat up on the bed. You scrolled through your notifications, groaning at each of them.

You sighed, and hopped out of bed. You ignored the wishes, even though you hated yourself for doing it. You eventually decided that you'd reply later on in the day. You didn't feel like earning a reminder of today.

You took a shower, as relaxing as it was, and wore a cozy sweater. The Bunker was much cooler than usual. You dried your hair with a towel then combed it, letting it air dry.

You put on some fuzzy slippers and walked out of your room. You looked behind you, eyebrows furrowed at how quiet the Bunker is.

"Dean? Sam?" You called out, "Cassie? Where are you guys?" You stopped, peering into every room that you passed. With no luck of seeing the boys, You shrugged and decided to go to the kitchen.

You made yourself a cup of coffee and grabbed a granola bar. You munched on it all the way to the library, your favourite place in the Bunker.

You began to grow worried at the lack of males in the place. You were about to call out when-

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY  [Y/N]!"

Voices exclaimed and cheered, deep voices. Party poppers exploded and confetti flew around. Three guys emmerged from their hiding places as you stood their stunned but more horrified.

Sam, Dean and Cas walked over and hugged you one by one, wishing you individually. All you did was nod... You were angry, more than happy.

"What's wrong  [y/n]?" Sam asked and Dean nodded. "You not saying anything is starting to creep me out," He said and you knocked yourself out of your trance.

"H-How did you know it's my birthday?" You trembled slightly. "Cas told us," Dean smiled widely and the Angel nodded, "He kind of... read your mind."

You looked at them with disbelief, "Why... why would you do that?!" Castiel frowned, "I know it wasn't right of me to read your mind but-"

"No not that! I mean, that isn't right but it's not what I'm mad about," You were about to explode, "Why would you do this? I didn't ask for it." You were about to cry.

"Because it's a surprise and it's your birthday!" Sam said and smiled. You couldnt take it, the memory was too much to handle.

You covered your mouth, tears streaming down your face, and ran to your bedroom. Dean looked at his brother with concern and followed behind you.

"[y/n] what's wrong?!" Dean banged on your door, hearing only sniffles for a reply. You heard the door click and it opened up. The three guys peered in, Dean was infront.

"Please, I don't want to talk about it," You pleaded, head still buried in your knees. "That's not going to stop us. Seeing you cry on your birthday-"

"Don't mention my birthday! PLEASE!" You yelled and Dean stepped back, clearly alarmed. Your eyes brought forward another wave of tears and you hugged your knees tighter.

The side of the bed infront of you slumped as Sam sat down. You felt Castiel's hand on your shoulder. He bent down till he had to look up to you to see your face. He smiled softly and you couldn't help but smile yourself, through your tears.

"What's the matter [y/n]? We hate seeing you like this," Sam said and you sighed. You wiped your tears with the tissues Dean gave you. You took a moment before replying.

"I hate my birthday, the date itself," You said with fury, "It's when... when my parents died." The guys looked to the floor in sadness.

"You know if I just... didn't go for that dumb party they would have been with me right now," You said and held your forehead in guilt.

"I was in university studying law and these people organised this useless party that almost everyone was invited to. My parents..." You chuckled in grief and shook your head, "They didn't find the idea too welcoming. They tried to reason with me but I was so stubborn."

"I came home, tipsy, to find my parents..." You covered your mouth, the image of blood sprayed on the walls and your parents in the floor lifeless piercing your mind.

You burst into tears again. Castiel hugged you and rocked you slowly. He kissed your head and whispered, "Shh, it's okay. You don't need to go on."

Once you relaxed, you wiped your eyes and said, "It was my birthday that day and from then I hate my birth date because it reminds me of that night."

"It's the reason I got into hunting," You said and the boys looked at you with sorrow. Hunting always seems to pull people at times of grief.

"I hate my birthday because my parents died on it."

You sat up straight and took a deep breath.

"But it's also the day I met you three, two years ago," You said, a smile crept in your lips, "And my life changed."

"You guys saved me, from my loneliness, from the pain... and I can't thank you enough," You said and Dean looked at his brother.

"You never told us that we met you on your birthday," He said and you shrugged. "It never came up and anyways, like I said, I hate the date," You smiled. You felt a bit better right now, after telling the story and reason to the people you love with all your heart.

"Are you feeling better?" Castiel asked and you nodded. You squeezed his hand then kissed his cheek, "Yes, thank you Cassie." He smiled.

"Okay, I hate sad teary moments," Dean said and put his hands together, "I say we get on with what we three have planned... if it's okay with you."

You thought for a moment then nodded with a grin. "I say lead the way Team Free Will!" You laughed and the boys smiled, happy to see you happy.

You clinged onto Castiel's arm as you both followed the Winchesters to the library. Castiel immediately gave you a card he made:

You laughed, then kissed his cheek and hugged him. It was just so... Cas!

You decide to the leave the past behind. It is the 'past' afterall isn't it?

There's a saying:

'Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That's why they call it present'

Why not just live by that? And it's a perfect saying for your special day too!
