You sulked as you sat on your bed, hugging your knees. You continued to stare at that one spot on your bed where your dad has sat, wishing you a final farewell before he left in the taxi to go to the airport.

You love your father more than anything in the world. They don't call you 'Daddy's girl' for no particular reason. But he travels a lot and everyone he leaves, all you do is sulk and put in the effort of making yourself happy, even though you're not.

He's an actor, your father. His name is Jared Padalecki and he plays Sam Winchester on a TV show called Supernatural, on the CW. He's been playing the character for twelve years, you've known him through all of them, plus an extra two years.

"Hey sweetheart, daddy sent me a video. He says it's for you," Your mom informed and walked into your room, handing you her phone. She rubbed your back softly and kissed your head, then walked out of the room.

You looked at the phone screen and sighed. Your Dad was on it, wearing a beanie and having a slight stubble.

You gathered your courage and clicked the play button, watching the screen and your dad talk.

"Hi [y/m/n], hi [y/n]. I just wanted to update you guys on what's happening. Jensen and I have a big fight scene coming up, I can see Misha having a snack on a chair... all alone," He chuckled as he narrated what happened around him, "Jensen and I, and Misha, miss you [y/n]. We loved it when you had come last time on the set. Everyone misses you. Bobby was even thinking of maybe casting you as an extra in one episode, I just gave him a thumbs up and a big smile."

He took a deep breath, looking straight at the screen as if he could see your face right now... even though it was a recorded video.

"I really miss you [y/n]. Don't think that I'm here just focusing on my work. I think about you at every moment in the day, every second. I think about you and mom and wonder how great it would he if they were here right now," He said and you felt your eyes moisten with tears, "I think about how much fun it would be with you around, goofing off. No one would stop you because you're my daughter."

He smiled then sighed, "I uh... Even though I have Jen and Misha and the rest of the cast and crew, I still feel lonely. I've gotten used to being around you and mom that now I can't live without you. At night I'd always think that you'd come over and give me a kiss on the cheek then say 'goodnight', or how mom would lay as close to me as possible and hug my arm as we fall asleep."

He sniffed a bit then smiled, "I miss you both so much and I wish I could come there for a little bit. I love you guys to the moon and back, you're my whole world."

He kissed the screen then furrowed his eyebrows, "Man I wish I could hug you through the screen!" You laughed slightly, But it turned back into a frown.

"Hey, if you're frowning right now, you need to stop because I love your smile, it makes my day better," He said and you couldn't help but smile, "I love you both and I think I can hear Jensen calling. Bye guys, we'll talk later."

The video stopped, the last frame was of your father smiling and looking at the screen.

You wiped the tears that streamed down your face and ran out of your room. You rushed to the kitchen and hugged your mom as soon as you saw her. She gasped a bit, in shock, then wrapped her arms around you.

"Mom I miss dad. I miss him so much!" You sobbed and she kissed your head. "Sweetheart, I miss him too," She ran her hand through your hair, "You know what, that's why I got these."

She walked over to one of her cook books and took out an envelope. She gave it to you and you looked at her with confusion.

You opened the envelope carefully then took out what was contained inside.

"OH MY GOD! NO WAY!" You exclaimed with excitement, staring at the two plane tickets to Vancouver in your hands, "Mom we're going to see dad?!"

She nodded with a grin and you continued to jump around in excitement. "Hey, don't tell him. It's a surprise."
