Nanny Cassie (Castiel Ft. Winchesters)

"I still don't like this idea Sam, I don't want to be away from her," You but your lip with frustration and concern. He smiled sympathetically then held your hand.

"It'll be fine, she loves Cas and Dean and we've told them guy they can call us anytime they need," Sam told and you sighed, "Now we're going to have a stress free getaway okay?"

You nodded your head and then looked out of the car window, thinking and hoping that you daughter would be fine to spend three days with her uncles while you and Sam go into the country for your anniversary.

Back at the Bunker, Dean made himself a cup of coffee while Cas settled down with [y/d/n]. He could hear the young girl giggle loudly, he smiled. His niece was someone he could be with all the time.

"Cas, you doing okay?" Dean asked and took a sip of his drink. Cas stood up from kneeling down and walked over to his friend.

"She has the energy of a mustang but the capabilities of... of a infant," He told and Dean raised his eyebrows.

"Cas she's a four year old girl, she's supposed to run around and talk for hours on end," Dean chucked, "It's the way they grow."

Castiel frowned, he didn't seem to have the expertise for child care. "I think you should keep her company Dean. You seem more knowledgeable," Castiel sighed and Dean put a hand on his shoulder.

"Hey it's not rocket science, look," He walked over to [y/d/n] who was playing with her Barbie dolls, "Hi sweetheart, what are you doing?"

"Just pwaying with Polly, Rebecca and Stacy," She told while combing one of her dolls long brown hair. She looked up to her uncle Dean and noticed the cup in his hand.

"Can I... can I have some?" She bit her lip and Dean raised a brow. He shrugged his shoulders and gave her a sip.

"Dean I don't think-"

"Yuck!" [y/d/n] stuck her tongue out in disgust, the drink was too bitter for her.

"It's black coffee Cas, no sugar," Dean smiled, "I knew she wouldn't like it. That's the trick with kids Cas, you have to kill the curiosity so they don't keep going on about the thing they want."

Castiel nodded, taking his friend's advice into account. Dean got up and walked towards the door. "Hey Cas, do you want anything?" He asked and the Angel shook his head.

"Alright I'll be back in ten minutes then [y/d/n] needs to sle-"

TRING! TRING!

Dean looked at the notifications on his phone. It was flooded with news channels and websites informing about breaking news involving a murder of a middle-aged woman.

Dean frowned, the case was quite ambiguous and it involved the victim having been clawed to death, supposedly.

"Cas hey, there's a case close in town, I think I have to go check it out," He told, "Will you be okay here with [y/d/n]?"

"Dean I don't think that's a good-"

"Alright great Cas, thanks," Dean patted his shoulder then walked to his bedroom, "I'll be back in about two or three hours."

He heard Dean walk off and a THUD! later, he knew that he was the only adult in the Bunker now.

"Uncle Cashel, let's pway something new!" [y/d/n] said cheerfully. Castiel smiled softly, watching the little girl put her dolls away.

"Its uncle 'Castiel' not...Cashel," He corrected.

She paused for a moment and thought, "Ca... She... El!"

Castiel shrugged his shoulders, "Good enough for you little one."

She walked over to her uncle and put a crown on his head. "You be the Pwince and I'll be the Pwincess!" [y/d/n] instructed, "You're in danger and I'll save you."

Castiel patted her shoulder then stroked her messy hair to fix it. "I'm sorry but the princess is the one who is always on danger and I'm not a prince, I'm an Angel. Plus, you can't be a princess. You're not of marrying age and you're just a normal civilian, not part of a royal family."

[y/d/n] stared at him, completely lost and unable to comprehend his words. She then broke into laughter, "You're funny Uncle Cashel! Now Pwince, tell me why you're so sad?"

Castiel raised an eyebrow and watched her for a long moment, "I'm sad because I haven't had any cake!"

"Oh no, that is sad! I shall bake you the bestest cake ever!" She told and walked over to her toy oven and put in a pot that had 'imaginary' cake batter.

*****

Dean turned up the volume, listening to good ol' Blue Oyster Cult happily. He was two minutes away from the Bunker, the case went decently alright. He has some leads, it's a pretty basic case. It'll be done in a couple of days.

"Cas?" Dean called out, though the only reply he received was the echo of his own voice. He furrowed his brows and walked to [y/d/n]'s bedroom, where he saw Cas last.

"Cas where are-"

He paused then smield softly and chuckled. "It couldn't get cuter than this," He said to himself and walked into the room.

Castiel was laying on [y/d/n]'s bed, with a storybook in his hands and her in his arms. They were both fast asleep, they had been for the past one hour.

Dean brought over an extra blanket to cover Castiel's legs and he kissed your daughter in the forehead. "Goodnight guys," He whispered then shut off the room light, the night light left a subtle glow.

He shut the door till a tiny crack let light in from the corridor outside. Dean took a deep breath then walked to his bedroom, planning to have another movie marathon.

In the end, Cas ended up doing the job right. Who knew he'd make a lovely step-in dad?
