"No I think the latter is a much more pleasing piece for a garment. What do you think dear?" Your mother asked while stroking the weaved cloth of the highest value and quality. You nodded your head with disinterest then gave her a forceful smile.

"Yes mother, it's... lovely," You answered and she furrowed her eyebrows. She gestured for the tailor to place the cloth on the table then walked closer to you.

"What's wrong Erin?" She placed her palm on your forehead and you moved away a little, "Are you ill?"

"Nothing, mother I'm all well," You placed your hands together in front of you then looked to the ground. Your mother squinted her eyes then sighed.

"Why don't you spend time with Dean? Get to know him more before the two of you start living together," She suggested and you groaned in your mind. You despised that idea, you wanted nothing to do with that man but your family, specifically your parents, pushed for you to become closer.

Dean, son of the Duke of Winchester, is your planned spouse in the arranged marriage for which your family and his are planning. You think he's a stuck-up, you don't even know him that well and you are expected to marry him and live together.

You are completely against the idea bit your parents would not hear a word of it. But you have put your foot down and have told them that you aren't going to be with him any time soon and surprisingly your parents understand that.

You walked towards the jousting audience tent after having a taste of the confectionaries served by one of the waiters with a tray.

You licked your lips after popping the round piece of cake into your mouth. You started walking to your seat at the front centre of the tent and-

"Good afternoon my lady."

You jumped at the sound of someone standing right behind after they spoke. You turned around with fright then took a deep breath after realising that it was the Duke of Winchester's son, Dean.

"Oh lord, Dean you had me startled!" You whispered and he smiled hesitantly.

"I apologise for that, I thought I'd... say hello," He explained and you looked to him flatly, completely unamused.

" Don't you have any tasks to complete?"

"No as a matter of fact, father told me to spend the rest of my day out here... with you."

"That's um, lovely," You frowned discreetly then rubbed your forehead, "I'm SO glad to have your company."

Dean smiled widely then sat beside you, crossing his legs and watching the men in armour walk to their horses. "So do you fancy this sport?" Dean questioned and you rolled your eyes.

"Dean if you wouldn't mind, I would like to have some quality time with my own presence," You smiled at him and he swallowed hard, maintaining his silence.

It remained that way for quite some time till Dean turned to you and furrowed his eyebrows.

"Why on earth do you dislike me Erin?" He asked and you shook your head.

"I feel no such-"

"You despise me being near you or interacting with you AND you denied the proposition of being married to me!" Dean argued, "I'm not a bad man Erin! I have not the faintest idea of how you have received such a thought process-"

"I just don't fancy the idea of being forced to marry someone Dean! I do not even know you!" You yelled rather loudly, making everyone in the tent and beyond look over to you.

You faced the front again then got up from your seat hurriedly, with Dean following you closely.

"Stop following me Dean!" You shouted as you exited the tent and lifted your dress a little so you wouldn't trip while you brisk-walked.

Once you reached an empty patch of land, with no one in sight, Dean grabbed your arm and pulled you back towards him. "Erin please listen to what I am saying," He said sadly, "I don't mean to cause you any harm or disturbance."

You crossed your arms and watched him blankly, giving him permission to speak. Dean took a breath, "You do not want to marry me and I am accepting of that, but please do not let it ruin our bond-"

"What bond? We have no bond."

"We have something between us and I would like it to stay," He sighed, "I'm no perfect man but I try to be one of the highest etiquette. Erin... I admire you and your way of living. I want to know you better, please don't isolate me."

You rubbed your face then kicked the leaves on the ground. "Will you stop following me?" You asked and he nodded his head quickly.

"Alright," You mumbled then stepped towards him, onto your tip-toes then planted a quick kiss on his lips. When you pulled away, he stared at you with no comment and watched you walk off in silence, no explanation given.

"I see you spent quite a lot of time with Dean today Erin," Your mother commented while slicing into her meatloaf piece on her plate.

You clenched your jaw, hoping the conversation wouldn't go in the direction you were anticipating. "Y-Yes I did, we only talked," You clarified and she raised an eyebrow.

"Well your father and I never stopped you from doing more than just that sweetheart," She placed her cutlery on her plate then looked straight at you, "You should be open with us and with especially him. When he is your husband, you will have to be very active and-"

You slammed your fork into the piece of meatloaf on your plate and glared at her. It was a look and attitude you would never dream of showing your parents but it had got far too much for you to handle.

"Please stop talking about marriage mother! Is it all that you know?!" You exclaimed and you looked at you with anger.

"How dare you speak to your mother like that?!" Your father shouted but you ignored him.

"Is intercourse the only thing you care about? What about genuine love? I do not think you know of such a thing, since you married father so you could be of royalty!" You yelled and your mother slammed her fist on the table.

"THAT'S ENOUGH ERIN, QUIET!"

You stood up suddenly and threw your cloth napkin onto the table. "NO I've had enough of this bogus romance! You think you know everything but you know NOTHING about me in reality!"

You stormed out of the room and hastened to your room, only to be stopped by Dean holding your shoulder tightly.

"Leave me alone Dean."

"What's the mat-"

"LEAVE ME ALONE!" You screamed after turning around and pushing him to the wall.

He gulped then tensed up, "Could I help with something?" You let go of him and furrowed your eyebrows.

"N-No... my parents do not understand me at all. I hate it."

"Do you... um, want to talk about it? We could go into the woods and-"

"Yes I would like that Dean," You said and he held your hand, leading you towards the main door then stepping outside.
