(I had some free time on my hands so I thought I'd finish it!)

You walked silently through the fogged up forest, pushing branches put of your way and stepping over tree roots. Your eyebrows were constantly furrowed. You didn't really want to be here but you had to figure out who's been kidnapping and killing the teenagers in this town.

You stopped suddenly and turned around in a circle, observing your environment. The rock in the distance looked familiar, it had a marking on it that looked like a snake.

You shut your eyes and sighed loudly. You realised that you have been walking around in circles. "Great... just great," You mumbled to yourself and took a seat on top of a fallen tree trunk.

You rested your chin on your palms and looked at the forest floor that was covered in scrunchy brown leaves and pokey twigs.

You were out on a hunt with Gabriel, one of your closest friends. He's a brother to you, he always has your back no matter what.

But on this particular hunt you've grown distant, ever since you had an extremely heated argument with him about attitude. It boiled into this mess of hatred and you split your ways while walking through the forest to find the supernatural creature.

You couldn't argue, he did make logical points about your stubbornness and rashness but he isn't perfect either, even though his arrogant self acts like it.

You just didn't want to hate as much as you do right now... You missed him and you had no clue about where in this densed forest could he be.

You took a deep breath then got up from your seat. You stepped over the trunk then continued to walk forward, gathering the energy to call out Gabriel's name.

You cupped your mouth and were about to yell for him when-

SCRUNCH!

You turned back swiftly. A shadow scurried passed and hid behind the bushes. You gulped and reached for the machete hanging from your belt.

You tip-toed ahead with the machete held up, ready to attack anything that would threaten you.

WHOOSH!

You looked behind you, eyes wide open end senses at their peak. "H-Hello?" You called out, hands trembling, "Gab-briel?"

You stepped ahead cautiously towards a large group of bushes, keeping an eye for anything that moves.

You cleared your throat and blinked your eyes to stop the burning feeling growing in-

"Olivia-"

Someone placed a hand on your shoulder and you jumped in terror, almost slicing the person's head off with your machete after you turned back.

You rolled your eyes and wiped your forehead, "GABRIEL WHAT THE HELL?!"

"Sorry about that," He bit his lip and looked around, "Any sign of the shapeshifter?"

You shook your head, "N-No nothing, I just-Wait... shapeshifter? How do you know that it's a shapeshifter?"

"Well, I found the remains of skin and other matter on the ground in a pile," He explained, "It was disgusting."

You sighed with relief then turned to walk forward, "Well I'm glad you're here now Gabe. This forest was starting to creep on me..."

A moment of silence ensued and you furrowed your eyebrows. You looked over your shoulder and-

THUMP!

You were pushed to the ground, the air from your lungs knocked out. You gasped suddenly, looking around and scrambling to your feet only to be kicked in the stomach and cause you agonizing pain.

"G-Gabriel what are y-y-you doing?!" You stuttered as you out your hands out in front of you to shield yourself as best as you could while shifting away from your attacker.

But Gabriel continued to beat you up, punching you repeatedly and grabbing you by your clothes and throwing you around.

"STOP IT P-PLEASE!" You screamed at him, blood pouring out of your mouth and temple.

"You know how much pain you've caused me? A LOT Olivia... A lot of pain and misery and-You're a freaking burden, you know that?!" He shook his head after putting his hands on his waist then gave you a long cold stare after completing his dialogue.

He charged at you once again, punching you two times on your face then holding the collar of your shirt and retrieving the Angel blade from his sleeve.

"Any last words sweetheart?" He smirked.

A tear rolled down your cheek from your half opened eye. You couldn't focus on him clearly, you were a complete mess.

"Y-Y-You're... not G-Gabriel," You shut your eyes and sighed, "You'd never say words like-"

"What are you, my mom? How would you know that?" He clenched his jaw, "These feelings have been buried inside me for too long and it needs to end NOW-"

You kneed him in the balls, causing him to fall back onto the forest floor crying his heart out.

As he curled into a ball, you grabbed your machete and walked over to him, looking down at his while struggling to hold your body up on your two feet.

"You're nothing b-but a sh-sh-shifter," You stated and raised the machete over your head, aiming to decapitate 'Gabriel's' head. You sucked in a sharp breath and tightened your grip on the machete's handle, ready to swing the blade at any...

CLANG!

You dropped the blade to the floor. You couldn't kill him, even though you were sure that it wasn't really him. You could see the lies in his eyes. Gabriel may be a trickster but you know when he's telling the truth... and you know when you're actually talking to him.

You started to cry and he looked up at you then at the machete with caution. "What? You're not going to kill me?" He raised an eyebrow and you drooped your shoulders.

"I can't k-kill you... You mean too much-"

THUMP!

Gabriel kicked your legs and you fell to the ground, hitting the side of your head in the process. For a moment you couldn't see a thing, as you cried out in pain.

Now just a blurred figure, you noticed Gabriel stand up and rush to you to pin you down. You tries your best to push him off as you yelled for help but he was too strong.

He stuck the Angel blade to your neck and pressed down on it till it actually cut through your skin lightly. He started to move the blade across your neck, making you yell im pain.

"Well lucky for me, you don't mean anything-"

BANG! BANG!

You shut your eyes at the deafening gun shots, blood splattering all over your face. You opened your eyes momentarily to watch Gabriel fall to your side and the blade slipping out of his hands.

You started breathing heavily, with relief, and you heard footsteps approach you hurriedly.

"Please don't hurt me-"

"Olivia! Oh my-I'm so sorry," A man collapsed onto your side and held you in his arms. You squinted your eyes to clear your vision, hugging onto the individual when you noticed that it was Gabriel.

You quickly glanced at the forest floor, still seeing the shapeshifter body of Gabriel laying completely still.

"It's the real me Liv, you're safe now," He rubbed your back to calm your nerves, "I'm so sorry I wasn't there for you. This is all my fault Olivia."

You remained silent, feeling calm and protected in his embrace. But you still continued to cry...

"All he said... Is it true?" You questioned quietly and he shook his head.

"No no no, of course not! I care about you so much-"

"Am I a burden for you?"

He held your head and made you look straight into his eyes. "Don't EVER think that whatever that... THING said could ever be real," He demanded then wiped the tears on your cheeks, "And I'm sorry for the things unsaid when we had that argument. Sure I meant most of it, no lie, but I care about you so much Olivia. You have no idea."

You smiled softly then hugged him lightly, "I'm sorry too Gabe."

Gabriel took a deep breath then held your hands. "Let's go home now," He said and you nodded your head slowly, "I have a feeling we're going to be sleeping for three days straight."
