Adoption Papers (Jared)
You placed the pregnancy test on the bathroom counter and stared at it. Jared had pushed you to try again, and you did, but he didn't understand... He didn't know about your condition.
You watched his face of excitement and impatience and sighed. "Jared, it's not going to-"
"You don't know. This could be our lucky time," He stated and crossed his arms. You looked at the test again and frowned.
It was negative.
You felt tears in your eyes. Not because of not having a child but because of how disappointed Jared would be.
"And just like the previous few times, it hasn't worked out sweetheart," You said sadly and showed him the stick.
"What, no..." He looked at it as well and ran a hand through his hair, "I don't understand what's wrong. We did everything to make sure you have a baby."
He sat on the bed, staring at the floor with his shoulders slumped. You held his hand and rubbed it softly.
"I think I have a problem. I should check myself at the doctor or something," He said, heartbreak in his voice.
You couldn't take it anymore, you had to tell him this time. You didn't want him to remain in his misery for the rest of your marriage. Plus, you wanted a child just as bad.
"Jared the problem's me," You said and he smiled slightly. "Don't say that-"
"No I'm telling you the truth," You faced him and took a deep breath, "I-I... I can't conceive. I'm sorry."
He didn't say anything at all and it worried you. "W-What?" He questioned and you looked to the ceiling to stop the tears from rolling down your cheeks.
"After we tried the first time, I was convinced that I was pregnant even after the test showed negative," You explained, "I went to the doctor the next day and she told me that I have some issues with my reproductive system. I can't have a baby Jared. I'm so sorry!"
You burst into tears and he pulled you closer, wrapping his arms around you and rubbing your back. "B-Because of me you won't have any children. It's better i-if you marry someone e-else," You sobbed and he furrowed his eyebrows.
"Hey I can only love you. I will never live anyone as much as I love you okay?" He clarified and kissed your head, "We'll figure something out, maybe we can fix it."
"I-I don't know..."
"From now on, tell me everything that going on with you as soon as it happens," He instructed softly and you nodded. You felt so guilty for not telling him before, as soon as you got to know.
You both sat in silence, your crying steadied. Jared sat up straight with a slight smile on his face. "Hey, I've got an idea," He said happily and you asked him what it is, "Do you trust me? If yes, then leave it to me to figure out."

The next afternoon...
Jared asked you to get dressed and you followed his orders. You were confused of course but he said, "Trust me, wear something casual."
You still felt like crap from yesterday. Jared looked like crap, he had bags under his eyes and he just looked... Tired, as if he was up all night on his laptop. Yet, he was still cheery. You decided to ditch the sorrow and looked forward to the trust you placed in your husband.
You both drive for a while, maybe half an hour and Jared doesn't tell you anything from the whole ride. It irritates you about but you remained motivated... For him.
Jared parked outside a building, that was painted a nice shade of light blue. You could see a couple of people walking in and others walking out with smiles.
He held your hand and squeezed it slightly, you could tell that he was nervous. You both walked towards the building and you immediately noticed the name. You knew what this place was... An adoption centre.
You stopped walking, getting Jared's idea about adopting a child. You looked at him with worry but he said two words, "Trust me."
You both walked inside the building and one of the ttendants came up to you, asking if you would like a tour. You told her about your condition, and how you and Jared really want a child.
There was a large playroom with different kids ranging from 2 to 7 years old, with their own special areas. They were running around and playing with each other and the countless toys that had been provided for them. The attendant told you that they had just had their lunch.
She then took you into another room where there were lines of transparent cribs standing, like in a hospital. You held Jared's hand tightly, watching the many babies sleeping or looking around quietly.
"This is where we care for the orphans of ages zero to one years," The attendant told and you nodded. There were about 7 in their care.
You couldn't look anywhere else than the idea of having an infant, not an older child. Why not have the whole parenting experience?
You walked around while Jared asked her about the formalities. All the babies looked adorable but the fact that they were orphans made you feel pity. Some of them may never meet their biological parents again.
You passed by the youngest babies and spotted one, a boy who looked as if he had just been born. You immediately feel in love with him and called Jared over.
"Honey look at him, isn't he beautiful?" You mumbled and he smiled softly. "Would you like to hold him?" The attendant asked and you looked at her hesitantly.
She picked the baby up and gave him to you, while telling you how to hold him correctly. Jared looked like he was in tears, seeing you so happy. He was over the moon at the fact that you were happy with his idea.
"His mother passed away soon after giving birth. His father was unfit to care for him and we had to bring him here. He's been with us for the past two weeks. He's three weeks old, no name," The attendant narrated then looked at the baby happily, "He is truly a sweetheart, already very responsive."
You looked at the baby in awe, completely in love with him. "He's comfortable with you, you may have found your child," The attendant looked at you and Jared excitedly.
You asked her if she could leave you and your husband in private. You looked at Jared, "Honey I think... I think I've fallen in love."
Jared kissed your head and you gave him the baby. He woke up a bit but he remained calm in both your hands. "He kind of looks like you... I don't know, his eyes are shaped like yours," You observed and Jared smirked.
"Let's adopt this guy-"
"But don't we need to talk about it? I mean this is a child not some pet, shouldn't we look at it from all angles?" You argued, while keeping your voice low to not wake up the babies in the room, "People would talk about how I-I... I'm infertile."
You frowned, realising that this is a bad idea.
"Hey, I don't care about other opinions. I care about you firstly then the rest of our extended family," Jared said, "This is our life and we make our decisions to our satisfaction right? If you think he is the one then let's give him a home where he'll be loved unconditionally."
You smiled and kissed the baby's forehead. "Anyways, while we were trying ourselves we already had talked about everything," Jared reminded and you nodded.
You took a deep breath, "Alright let's adopt him."

After the paperwork was filled out and all formalities settled, you walked out of the building with happiness in your arms. He didn't have a recorded name so you both decided to use the one you would have named your biological son.
The baby was awake now, looking around and surprised to see a new face carrying him. He had the prettiest hazel eyes and his cheeks were all rosy.
You sat on the back seat with your new son in your arms. You couldn't wait to tell everyone you know about him.
"Jared can you believe that we finally have what we wanted?" You were consumed with excitement and Jared felt exactly the same way.
"Even though he didn't grow in your stomach, he's still our boy and we'll give him whatever we would have given our own child," Jared turned back and looked at you with a smile.
"Now we need to go shopping for baby things. We have a lot of work to do," Jared said and drove towards the mall close to your house.
You thought life wouldn't be livable with your condition but now you have Jared and a little boy called [y/s/n].
