Looking down onto Earth, Gabriel looked at his human. (F/L) (L/N) was the girl he was a guardian angel to. She was continuously messing up because his guidance was absent from her life. That's was he was meant to be there for, to help her. But instead he was getting into trouble with the other angels. 

"You know, you need to help her out." Balthazar appeared next to Gabe, holding a glass of wine,

"Shut up. I know. But how?" He sighed, putting his head in his hands.

"Help her in the right direction, show her that she isn't alone." Balthazar told the sweet tooth angel.

"Okay, here goes nothing." Gabe flashed to (Y/N)'s side. She was studying for a test the next day.

"I know you cant see me, but I'm Gabriel. Uhhhh... what are you doing?" He walked over to her side. "Studying! That's boring! You know what you should do? Get some candy, I saw a really nice candy store a few blocks out."

"I suddenly think I need.... a KitKat bar. Because I need to take a break from studying." (Y/N) left her books and left to the candy shop. Not only did she buy a whole shitload of candy, but Gabe also told her to go home and watch a few movies. (Y/N) ended up failing that test.

"That was some nice help you gave her, Gabe." Balthazar popped my Gabe after he returned to heaven.

'I don't understand! I'm not good at this shit." He threw his hands up in the air, frustrated with this job he didn't want in the first place.

"But you said that studying was boring and that she needed candy. So she listened. What you think she needs to do, is what she is going to do. So maybe not recommend those things to her."

The next few weeks, gabe did his best to help out (Y/N). But she ended up failing another test, got in a car accident, got fined for playing to many pranks on her neighbors, and almost didn't get the job she wanted. All because of a certain candy loving archangel.

"ARGH! Why am I always wanting candy when I'm working! I've gained 5 pounds over a month." (Y/N) looked at the clock, decided her shift was over, clocked out and went home.

"I've made so many bad choices over the last month! what is it! I mean c'mon! Don't I get guardian angel, too?" She headed to bed, happy that tomorrow was the weekend.

"I'm going to have to do something about this. I'm going to have to show myself tomorrow." Gabe decided. 

The morning came, Gabe sat at the dining room table, legs crossed and sucking on a sucker. (Y/N) came out, her hair a mess. She screamed when she saw Gabe sitting at the table.

"Who, who are you?" She asked, scared out of her mind of this man just sitting at her table.

"I'm Gabriel, and angel. Blah blah blah, angelic stuff, lets get to the point here. I'm your guardian angel and I was supposed to be helping you out since you were born. And I kinda didn't. But! I'm here to make things right." Gabe stood up and walked over to (Y/N), who held a large frying pan.

"You? Your my guardian angel!? Prove it!" She yelled, holding the frying pan closer to Gabe's face.

"Okay, you see me," Gabe flashed behind (Y/N)." And now you don't." (Y/N) spun around to face he archangel.

"Okay, okay. Still magicians can do that, sort of. Do something else or I'm gonna hit you." She threatened.

"Fine, that frying pan is getting annoying. Why don't you just set it down." Gabe flung the pan across the room. It hit the couch lightly with a soft thud.

"Okay, I guess you really are and angel." She ran up to him and started hitting him." YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO HELP ME AND YOU DIDN'T, WHAT GIVES MAN? WHAT DID I EVER DO?"

"Yes, I know, but just give me another chance, please! I need to make this right." Gabe begged, not affected by her hits.

"Fine, I still don't trust you. I'm going out." (Y/N) got ready for the day, grabbed her car keys and just about left before a hand on her wrist stopped her in her tracks.

"Wait. You get in a car accident when you go. And you die. I can't let my one chance go, now can I? Stay." He pulled her away from the door, leading her to the couch.

"Why should I trust you? It's not like you have given me any help over the years." She reluctantly followed him.

"You don't have to trust me, but I'm just trying to make my second chance worth something."

The two talked for hours. (Y/N) came to trust the candy loving archangel. He was funny and could always make her smile. And true to his word, (Y/N) would have gotten killed by a drunk driver on her way home form the bar. They saw it on the news, the guy ran into a stop sign, rather than her car.

"Thank you for saving me." (Y/N) whispered as she climbed into bed, drowsiness over coming her.

"Anytime." Gabe whispered, kissing her forehead.

He flashed back heaven, happy that he actually did his job. Smiling, Gabe looked down on his sleeping human. 

"You finally did it." Balthazar appeared next to him.

"Yeah, I guess I did."

Over the next few years, the pair become very close. (Y/N) passed more tests, avoided losing her job on multiple occasions, and Gabe helped defend her against some drunk guy in a bar. She had fallen love for the trickster in disguise. He had as well, fallen for the girl that he was watching over. But technically he couldn't be in a relationship with a human. The two snuggled next to eachother on (Y/N) chouch, watching her favorite movie.

"Gabe?" (Y/N) spoke softly, wrapping her arms around his neck.

"What is it?" He asked.

"I- I... like you. A lot. And I know you like me, I can tell by the way you look at me and talk to me. But I know he can't be together. I am human, and you are an angel. We can't." A tear ran down her face, falling onto his shoulder.

"I know. I like you too. I wish there was some way to be together. I need you like my next sugar rush. I won't ever leave you, you hear me? Never." Gabe put his arms around her waist, holding her close.

'But when I die, you can't see me."

"I will visit your heaven, everyday. Because I love you."

"I love too."
