Bio:

Ravenna was born to Rosia Salvatore and Mad Sweeney on January 24th, 1840 in the small town of Mystic Falls, Virginia, following a very short term relationship, of which Rosie was unsure if Sweeney was aware of her pregnancy. Rosie died due to a very difficult labour leaving Ravenna without a caregiver.

Ravenna was taken in by her maternal uncle Giuseppe Salvatore and his wife Lillian. Ravenna was raised alongside their own children Damon and Stefan.

As she grew up, Ravenna developed psychic abilities, minor telekinetic and telepathy abilities.

Being close in age, Ravenna and Damon had a very close relationship and she was devastated when he joined the Confederate Army.

At some point in her teenaged years, Ravenna was romantically involved with George Lockwood which continued until her 'death'. She was also a close 'friend' of Katherine Pierce, as much as she could be when Katherine was simply using her to her own ends.

One day in 1864, George warned Katherine about the round-up of vampires and when it was scheduled to take place. Katherine insisted that before the church was set ablaze with the vampires inside, the body count must be officially listed as twenty-seven, the total vampire population of the town including herself. George said he would ensure that it was done, and ultimately was the person who helped her escape the church before it was set on fire (and, unbeknownst to the majority of those involved, secretly sealed with magic by Emily Bennett to protect the vampires inside, as she believed Katherine was among them), allowing Katherine to fake her death and move on to another town. In return, Katherine gave George the moonstone she had stolen from Klaus centuries earlier.

Following this, George wanted to leave town, to start a new life whilst investigating the Sun and Moon curse hoping to find a cure for his werewolf nature. But Ravenna argued that she wished to stay in Mystic Falls, leading to an argument as George physically tried to get Ravenna to leave her home, when pulling herself away from him, Ravenna fell back, tumbling down a flight of stairs and snapping her neck. Killing her. But Ravenna died with Katherine's blood in her system. Knowing this, Emily (Katherine's witch friend), stole Ravenna from the funeral home and took her to where she was currently awaiting Stefan and Damon to wake from their own 'deaths'.

Damon woke first, followed by Stefan, both of whom were surprised by the turn of events with Ravenna, as they had both asked Katherine to keep their sister out of the vampire stuff. Damon, being closer to Ravenna, took her aside when she woke and explained everything to her. Initially she felt betrayed that they never told her anything of what was going on.

Ravenna eventually decided to complete the transition, not wanting to die at all.

Stefan and Damon then both completed the transition, Stefan accidentally after feeding on, and killing, Giuseppe, and Damon having been forced into it by Stefan.

Weeks after he was newly turned and still lacked control of his bloodlust, Stefan went on a rampage, killing members of the Founding Families out of revenge for what they had done to Katherine. One member was Johnathan Gilbert, though he later came back to life with the help of his Gilbert Ring. Stefan continued on a blood-drinking bender to try to make the guilt and pain of what he had done to Damon and his father go away. He compelled young women to go home with him, so he could toy with them and feed on their blood. When Damon found Stefan like this, he was upset by his brother's uncontrollable behavior and compelled all of the women to leave and to never come back. Damon tried to convince Stefan to control his bloodlust and moderate his behavior, but could not get through to Stefan until he announced he was leaving town with Ravenna. Desperate to keep his siblings in his life, Stefan begged Damon not to leave, that he promised he would do better.

Damon showed no sympathy for his brother's pleas and left, saying he would not let Stefan get them all killed, and that he would leave him to do that to himself.

Ravenna would eventually leave Damon too due to his overprotective nature with her, his own guilt over what happened to her making causing him to be so with her.

Personality:

The sarcastic mean girl with a heart of gold. Ravenna puts on a tough exterior but secretly has a soft spot towards helping people. Ravenna's nature allows her to always find joy in the little things around her, even if that little something is murder or a cheap motel room. She's not afraid to be herself, even if it means that it sets her apart from the group. She isn't afraid to make suggestive comments and frequently flirts with those around her. Despite her willingness to use violence, she is a moral person who does not do so needlessly, nor does she attack innocent people. She has shown empathy to fellow outcasts and loners.

Ravenna has a deep loyalty to her family, a sense of protectiveness that Stefan states is as fierce as any animal. She takes her family seriously, and though she jokes about them a lot, when the cards are down and they need her, she won't ever hesitate.

Money means nothing to her and she will never make a choice or a decision based on an expected financial outcome.

She dislikes and completely ignores fashion, and is attracted to eccentric, strange, unpopular people. The popular "beautiful" but shallow people bore her to no end. She is not usually interested in politics but has a strong sense of justice.

She doesn't like to fuss in front of the mirror, but can be very charming and will take on a room full of men in any discussion, completely unconscious of the fact that many of them have something completely different in mind.

Despite not being one for a serious relationship, when Ravenna is in what she considers a firm relationship, she can be jealous and mean-spirited when other forces reach for her man. Because as gentle and loving as she is most of the time, her anger is formidable and another side of her comes out when she feels crossed or mistreated -- a side that can be mean and vengeful, cruel and unrelenting. She will claw her adversary to pieces and never look back in regret or remorse. What is hers is hers, and people are well-advised to remember that. As a partner and companion, Ravenna is an invaluable asset. She will defend those she loves and cares for at any cost and her loyalty is unshakeable.

She can be aloof, hates gossip and is immune to small-minded backstabbing.

There is a dry, usually misunderstood sense of humor to Ravenna, yet she is unable to remember a single joke.

Ravenna can be opinionated and tend to knows something about everything, which can be annoying. She's not always honest, often choosing a more "interesting" truth than the actual truth. Many people are uncomfortable around her due to her penetrating eyes and the sense that even when she seems to be listening, she is actually analyzing the shape of their eyes and the crevices of their earlobes.

Despite her courageous façade, Ravenna's underlying fears and insecurities motivate her every move, prompting her to plunge headlong into battle. She is the rugged individualist.

- Ravenna can survive without blood by psionically draining life force, she is the only known vampire that can do this, and she has become known as a psi-vampire.

Life-Force Absorption: Ravenna can psionically drain the life forces of human beings into herself, by physical touch. If she drained a person's entire life force from him or her, the victim dies and the victim's body crumbles into dust. It is unknown how often Ravenna must drain life force from another human in order to survive. A side-effect of this absorption is that Ravenna takes on the memories of her victims.

- Psychic Vampire: If Ravenna drains only part of a victim's life force, she achieves a measure of psychic control over her victim's mind. Through unknown means, Ravenna can cause a human being to become a psychic vampire like herself, but be subordinate to Ravenna's own will.

Superhumanly Acute Hearing: Ravenna's sense of hearing is heightened to superhuman levels. Her hearing is enhanced to detect sounds that an ordinary human can't hear and enable her to hear sounds an ordinary human can hear but at greater distances.

- Lie Detection: Ravenna's hearing is so acute, that she can tell whether people are lying or not, based on the rate of their heartbeats.

Superhuman Sense of Smell: Ravenna possesses an incredibly pronounced sense of smell, easily able to discern what's human and what's not even from a good distance away.

Superhuman Sense of Taste: Ravenna is able to taste things even on in the air, as she was able to taste that a hunter had ripped stitches and was bleeding from across a crowded dive bar.

Empathy: With her enhanced senses, Ravenna can read peoples emotions by reading shifts in the air around them, including the tasting and scenting of pheromones.

Superhuman Strength: Ravenna possesses the strength of a vampire, allowing her to lift about 1 ton due to her vampire side. Ravenna has routinely makes prodigious jumps of hundreds of feet through the air, and has sufficient strength to easily rip the head off of another with her bare hands.

Superhuman Speed: Ravenna is capable of running and moving at speeds greater than even the finest human athlete. She can also accelerate her movements to cover short distances in an instant, faster than the human eye can see. Her reflexes are similarly heightened. She moves so fast that everything else when compared to her, appears to be moving in slow motion.

Superhuman Agility: Ravenna's agility, balance, and bodily coordination are enhanced to levels that are beyond the natural physical limits of the finest human athlete. She can leap several feet into the air and is able to move, jump, climb, flip, and run at incredibly fast speeds without difficulty or exhaustion. She can perform above-human parkour feats and virtually always land on her feet.

Superhuman Stamina: Ravenna's musculature generates less lactic acid (i.e. muscle fatigue) during physical activity than the musculature of an ordinary human. She can exert herself at peak capacity for several hours before fatigue begins to impair her.

Regenerative Healing Factor: Ravenna, like other vampires, possesses an accelerated healing ability that allows her to heal mild to moderate injuries with much greater speed and efficiency than ordinary humans. She is capable of healing from severe slashes and puncture wounds within a matter of minutes.

Immortality: Ravenna, like all vampires, is immune to the effects of ageing and is immune to all known Earthly diseases as long as she ingests life forces on a regular basis to maintain her vitality.

True Face/Fangs: Like all vampires, Ravenna has fangs. She can quickly drain a victim of blood.

'Gold Coin'/Currency Generation: Being the daughter of Mad Sweeney, Ravenna is able to summon an endless amount of golden coins, though she has also been seen generating other currency, implying that her power is not limited to gold coins. She can also make them disappear, or make other coins disappear.

Psionics: With psychic and leprechaun genetic, Ravenna has psychic abilities, enabling her to scan the superficial thoughts of any mind less adept than her own.

Telepathy: Ravenna is capable of displaying various psionic feats with the minds of others including reading and communicating with thoughts over vast distances.

- Psi-Screen: Ravenna is able to shield herself from psionic intrusion, meaning that she is immune to compulsion by original vampires.

- Mental Bolts: She can project psionic force bolts which have no physical effects but which can affect a victim's mind so as to cause the victim pain or unconsciousness.

- Hypnotic Trance: She can induce a momentary hypnotic trance state in people around her. Often used along with her speed to create the illusion of teleportation.

- Mind Compulsion: Ravenna can compel the minds of most sentient creatures.

- Dream Manipulation: Ravenna can control dreams and the subconscious of humans and vampires. She can produce and modify dreams, bestow nightmares or lucid dreaming.

- Illusions: Ravenna has the power to trick the minds of others into seeing/feeling things that aren't actually happening.

Telekinesis: Ravenna is a highly adept psychokinetic, capable of moving things with a simple thought, though she usually uses hand movement for better control.

- Telekinetic Animation: She can cause inanimate objects to move according to her will by projecting part of her absorbed life force into them.

- Inanimate Disintegration: She can cause inanimate objects in her presence to disintegrate.

Pyrokinesis: Likely because Mad Sweeney was once a sun god, Ravenna can psionically generate and project intense heat and flame from and around her body or direct it at certain distances. The exact radius remains unknown. She is also able to manipulate flame created from other sources and can magnify their intensity or snuff them. The flames Ravenna generates can also be illusory in effect; for example, she can focus the power on an object making it appear to be on fire while it was not being damaged by the flames at all. Ravenna instinctively created a psionic force field about her entire body that protects her from the effects of the heat and flame she creates and is capable of doing so if the fire were to come from other sources as well.
