Bio:

Dina was born on June 22, 1992, in Mystic Falls the biological daughter of Isobel Fleming and Bran Stackhouse, bringing together traveller and fae genetics which created a unique individual in Dina.

and lived there peacefully for 17 years, with her adopted parents, Miranda and Grayson Gilbert, as well as with her adopted brother, Jeremy, and her half-sister and twin sister, Elena.

They led a quiet small town life, free of the supernatural. However, in Season One Elena learns that she was adopted and her biological parents are John Gilbert, her uncle, and Isobel Flemming. John's brother Grayson and his wife Miranda, who desperately wanted to have children but were having difficulties conceiving, adopted Elena following her birth. Because Grayson was a doctor, he was able to tamper with the birth records, making himself and Miranda appear as Elena's biological parents on her birth certificate. If anyone ever became suspicious, they would have the birth certificate as documentation proof.

Personality

The unique bonding of fae and traveller genetics granted Dina an alter-ego called the "Phoenix", also known as her 'Inner Phoenix'. The Phoenix is an Id-like manifestation of her deepest emotions, primarily rage and desire. The extent of Phoenix's control over Dina's mind is unclear, only appearing in times of emotional duress.

Loving: Dina has an incredible capacity for love, and this is one of her most important personality traits. It is one of the things that make Dina undoubtedly Dina. It isn't that she loves her family, friends, and those at the school; it's that she loves life, and she loves humanity. She has such grand hopes for people, and despite some of the more horrific things she's witnessed, she still has hope and love in her heart. There is nothing she would not do for what she loves, even if it means sacrificing herself to ensure the safety of that which she holds dear.

Determined: Some might call it pure stubbornness -- and they wouldn't exactly be wrong -- but Dina prefers to think of herself as determined. Driven. Feisty. She doesn't take crap from anyone, and when she has something to say she is not afraid to speak up. Dina might know when she is beaten, but she doesn't know when to stay down and give up.

Selfless: Dina is naturally selfless, always giving and genuinely concerned about the welfare and happiness of not only those nearest and dearest, but humanity as a whole. She is the type that would give her last money to someone in need, or do without lunch in order to feed someone less fortunate to herself. However, this all keeps Dina rather too busy to look after her own self, so she sometimes suffers because of it.

Soft-Hearted: Anyone with a sob story or just needs a little help to get them through gets Dina all tender-hearted and wanting to help. She is the sort of person who can't resist bringing home a lost or stray animal and trying to find it a good home. The problem is that this drives her to try and reach out, even when it puts her in danger. Sometimes, she just can't see the forest for the trees.

Wild Streak: Perhaps it's a red-head thing, but Dina, despite what some might think, has a wild streak in her. There's a part of her that just craves the freedom of breaking convention and going a little crazy. There are times when she even revels in the exhilaration of using her powers, which becomes especially dangerous when she's pushing her limits.

Powers

Dina is an extremely powerful witch. Originally a burgeoning psychic whose abilities were contained by a necklace until she could gain better control of them.

- When unleashing the full extent of her powers, Dina's powers manifested around her as a fiery raptor. Her powers is vastly amplified when the Phoenix is in charge, allowing her to accomplish feats impossible if attempted alone.

Inner Phoenix: Having an 'Inner Phoenix' grants Dina some unique and special abilities. Whilst Phoenix is in control of her, Dina's natural abilities are immensely amplified, allowing her to overcome powerful individuals. She also gains new powers when the Phoenix takes over.

- Telekinesis: Dina has the ability to move objects with her mind, ranging from doors to people, cars and even trains. She can sustain multiple telekinetic feats at once.

- Telekinetic Flight: Dina can fly using her telekinesis by levitating herself. Dina is even able to walk on and float in the air. She is able to simulate self-propelled flight at considerable speeds. She is even able to easily soar through outer space and the upper atmosphere.

- Telekinetic Shield: Dina can generate telekinetic shields or barriers to block, contain and impede targets. She can also project such fields as a means of offence, releasing them as waves of concussive force able to damage solid concrete. She is able to create multiple fields for individual people, all the while enacting various other telekinetic feats at the same time.

- Molecular Control: When letting Phoenix take control, she can manipulate matter at a molecular level at will.

- Disintegration: Dina is able to atomize nearly anything within her surroundings at will when Phoenix is in control of her. This is an extension of her telekinetic ability and she is seen being able to affect all manner of objects and even people with this power.

- Telepathy: Because of her Phoenix nature, Dina has a wide array of telepathic powers. She can telepathically communicate with others and even influence non-sentiments, such as animals and vampires.

- Mental Detection: Dina is able to sense where nearby people are.

- Mind Control: Dina is able to manipulate the minds of others to get them to do what she wants them to do. She does not like using this ability to make people do what she wants them to do all the time.

- Sleep Inducement: Dina can make others fall asleep simply by telling them to.

- Mental Link: Dina has the potential to be able to develop a mental link with any person which remains as a connection to that individual.

- Mnemokinesis: Dina could manipulate the memories individuals. She can erase, restore, or even implant false memories into a person's mind. She once threatened Damon by telling him that she could make him believe he was a six-year-old girl. Aside from erasing memories, Dina has the ability to restore memories as well.

- Amnesia Inducement: Dina had the ability to cause loss of particular memories and amnesia in another person or group of people.

- Telepathic Illusions: Dina has the ability to project realistic illusions through telepathic means, able to simulate invisibility for herself and other people, as well as being able to appear as a completely different person to multiple people.

- Telepathic Shielding: Dina has the ability to resist the telepathic intrusion of other psionics.

- Astral Projection: Dina is able to project her consciousness into the Astral Plane, where a psionic's powers are able to affect the physical world there. She is also capable of guiding another in the Astral Plane as well. She usually uses this to aid in mental healing.

- Heal Trauma: Dina has exhibited the ability to heal another's psychological trauma.

- Psionic Blasts: Dina has the ability to project psionic forces from her mind powerful enough to cause both physical and mental harm to her desired targets.

- Empath: Dina can sense and change the emotions of others, though she must be careful not to constantly manipulate those around her, so as not to create a false reality of others simply feeling what she wants them to feel. Although this power is useful, the mood she inflicts only lasts for as long as her targets are within her range.

- Energy Manipulation: Dina has the ability to harness the sheer power of the Phoenix in the form of what appears to be cosmic fire.

- Self-Sustenance: Empowered by the Phoenix, Dina is able to survive in the vacuum of space without the need of breathing equipment.
