Ghost From The Past
We make it back to Jenny's house, Missouri riding along with us. We get out of the car and head to the door where Sam knocks on it. Jenny answers it and seesthe four of us. "Sam, (y/n), Dean. What are you doing here?" Jenny asked us, shocked. "Hey, Jenny. This is our friend, Missouri." Sam said as he gestures towards Missouri. "If it’s not too much trouble, we were hoping to show her the old house. You know, for old time’s sake." Dean said to her.
"You know, this isn’t a good time. I’m kind of busy." Jenny said, exasperated. "Listen, Jenny, it’s important." Dean said when Missouri smacks him on the back of the head. "Ow!" He exclaims. "Give the poor girl a break, can’t you see she’s upset?" Missouri said to him before she turns to Jenny while Sam and I share a silent chuckle.
"Forgive this boy, he means well, he’s just not the sharpest tool in the shed, but hear me out." Missouri said as Dean stands there and looks stunned while Sam and I bite our lips to keep the laughs back. "About what?" Jenny asked Missouri. "About this house." Missouri replied.
"What are you talking about?" Jenny asked. "I think you know what I’m talking about. You think there’s something in this house, something that wants to hurt your family. Am I mistaken?" Missouri asked and Jenny's eyes widen.
"Who are you?" She asked her. "We’re people who can help, who can stop this thing. But you’re gonna have to trust us, just a little." Missouri said while Jenny looks unsure but she let's us in.
"If there’s a dark energy around here, this room should be the center of it." Missouri said after we enter Sari's room. "Why?" I asked her. "This used to be Sam's nursery. This is where it all happened." Missouri replied as Sam glances at the ceiling.
While Missour looks around the room, Dean pulls out his EMF meter. "That an EMF?" She asked him. "Yeah." Dean replied. "Amateur." She scoffs then Dean glares at her. He nudges me and shows him that the EMF is beeping frantically. "I don’t know if you boys should be disappointed or relieved, but this ain’t the thing that took your mom." Missouri said and the boys look up at her, shocked.
"Wait, are you sure?" Sam asked her and she nods. "How do you know?" Sam asked her. "It isn’t the same energy I felt the last time I was here. It’s somethin’ different." Missouri replied.
"What is it?" Dean asked her. "Not it." Missouri said then she opens the closet. "Them. There’s more than one spirit in this place." She said as she points at the closet. "What are they doing here?" I asked her. "They’re here because of what happened to the boys family." She said then she turns around to look at the boys. "You see, all those years ago, real evil came to you. It walked this house. That kind of evil leaves wounds. And sometimes, wounds get infected." She said. "I don’t understand." Sam said, confused.
"This place is a magnet for paranormal energy. It’s attracted a poltergeist. A nasty one. And it won’t rest until Jenny and her babies are dead." Missouri replied. "You said there was more than one spirit." I said to her. "There is. I just can’t quite make out the second one." Missouri said. "Well, one thing’s for damn sure –- nobody’s dyin’ in this house ever again. So whatever is here, how do we stop it?" Dean asked her.
Later, we were back at Missouri's house and the four of us were sitting around a table, where there were different herbs and roots. "So, what is all this stuff, anyway?" Dean asked her. "Angelica Root, Van Van oil, crossroad dirt, a few other odds and ends." Missouri replied. "Yeah? What are we supposed to do with it?" Dean asked her. "We’re gonna put them inside the walls in the north, south, east, west corners on each floor of the house." She replied.
"We’ll be punchin’ holes in the dry wall. Jenny’s gonna love that." I grumbled and Missouri looks over at me. "She’ll live." She said, slyly. "And this’ll destroy the spirits?" Sam asked her. "It should. It should purify the house completely. We’ll each take a floor. But we work fast. Once the spirits realize what we’re up to, things are gonna get bad." She informs us.
Inside Jenny's house, the boys and I go around into each rooms with a hammer and make holes in the wall then put in these herbs that Missouri made, while she leads Jenny and her kids out of the house. I was in one room and bashed a hole in the wall when I heard a noise in the room next to me. I looked around for a moment then put the herb in the wall and head to the room next to me.
I stopped in my tracks as I get to the door and see Sam on the ground with the lamp cord wrapped around his neck. I gasped as I realized this looked exactly like the dream I had a few days ago. "SAM!" I shout as I run into the room and tried to pull the cord off.
Then I hear hurried footsteps and I look up and see that Dean had arrived. "Sam!" He said as I try to pull the cord but it wouldn't budge. I looked up at him and shake my head.
Dean then kicks a hole in the wall and places the bag of herbs inside, causing a blinding white light leave the room. Once the spirit is gone, Dean and I go back over to Sam, who is completely weak. I unravel the cord from around Sam's neck and Dean and I pull him into a fierce hug.
A few hours later, the boys, Missouri and I were standing in the extremely messy kitchen but I still feel like there was...something here. "You sure this is over?" I asked Missouri. "I’m sure. Why? Why do you ask?" She asked as she looks over at me. "Never mind." I said before I sigh. "It’s nothin’, I guess." I said then we hear Jenny entering the house.
"Hello? We’re home." She said as she comes into the kitchen and looks around. "What happened?" She asked. "Hi, sorry. Um, we’ll pay for all of this." Sam said while Dean looks confused. "Don’t you worry. Dean’s gonna clean up this mess." Missouri said and Dean stands there, not moving. "Well, what are you waiting for, boy? Get the mop." She tells him and he begins to walk away. "And don’t cuss at me!" She warns and Dean walks away, muttering under his breath while I chuckle and Missouri winks over at me.
After we left Jenny's house and got Missouri back to her house, I told the boys that we should go back and watch over Jenny's house. Dean was confused about this but Sam agreed with me and Dean sighs and takes us to Jenny's house while I explain why we have to go back. Sam even agreed and said that he had the same feeling as I did.
"All right, so, tell me again, what are we still doin’ here?" Dean asked sometime later as we sit in the car outside of the house. "I don’t know. I just…I still have a bad feeling." I said and Sam nods. "Yeah, same here." He said. "Why? Missouri did her whole Zelda Rubenstein thing, the house should be clean, it should be over." Dean said. "Yeah, well, probably." Sam said, shrugging. "I just wanna make sure, that’s all." I said.
"Yeah, well, problem is I could be sleeping in a bed right now." Dean said then he slides down in his seat and closes his eyes. Sam and I look up at at the bedroom window and see Jenny screaming, and I realized that this was who was screaming in my dream. "Dean. Look, Dean!" Sam and I shouted at the same time and he looks up then we rush out of the car and run towards the house.
"You guys grab the kids, I’ll get Jenny." Dean said and we nod and head up the stairs. We enter the room and see Sari, holding Ritchie in her arms, screaming for help while the other side of the room was a figure on fire. Sam goes to Sari and picks her up in his arms. "Don’t look. Don’t look!" Sam and I tell her and we leave the bedroom.
We rush down the stairs and Sam puts the kids down on the floor. "All right, Sari, take your brother outside as fast as you can, and don’t look back." Sam tells her just as an invisible force makes Sam and I fall to the floor. We slide backwards into another room, crashing into a table. Sari screams and runs outside with Ritchie.
In the kitchen, Sam and I were flung into a set of cabinets then both of us stand up but we get pinned against the wall by the invisible force. I couldn’t move any part of my body, and it seemed Sam couldn't either. Then the fire figure makes its way towards us and I noticed that the figure looked familiar as I've seen pictures of her before.
"Sam? (Y/n)? Sam! (Y/n)!" Dean shouts then he comes into the kitchen and sees us. As he looks at the fire figure, he raises his gun. "No, don’t! Don’t!" Sam and I shout at him. "What, why?!" Dean asked. "Because I know who it is. I can see her now." Sam replied. "Yeah, same here." I said.
Suddenly, the fire vanishes and standing in front of us is Mary Winchester. Dean's expression softens then he lowers his gun slowly. "Mom?" He said, softly, as Mary smiles and steps closer to him. "Dean." She said as I could see tears forming in Dean's eyes. Mary walks away from him and goes to Sam. Dean watches her, never taking his eyes off her.
"Sam." She said and Sam smiles weakly, crying. Mary’s smile fades. "I’m sorry." She said. "For what?" Sam asked. She looks at him sadly, but says nothing. Then she walks away from us and looks up at the ceiling. "You get out of my house. And let go of my son and their friend." She yells.
Once again, she bursts into flames. When she is entirely engulfed, the fire reaches the ceiling and disappears. The force holding Sam and I to the wall releases us. We walk over to Dean, and the three of us look at each other, stunned. "Now it’s over." I assured them.
"Well, there are no spirits in there anymore, this time for sure." Missour tells Sam and I the next morning while Dean was outside talking to Jenny. "Not even my mom?" Sam asked her. "No." She said. "What happened?" I asked her. "Their mom’s spirit and the poltergeist’s energy, they cancelled each other out." She replied then she turns to Sam. "Your mom destroyed herself goin’ after the thing."
"Why would she do something like that?" Sam asked. "Well, to protect her boys, of course. And their friend." She said and Sam nods, with tears in his eyes. I frown then I go and hug Sam and he hugs me back. "Sam...(y/n), I’m sorry." Missouri said and we look over at her.
"For what?" We asked her. "You two sensed it was here, didn’t you? Even when I couldn’t." She said and we look over at her. "What’s happening to us?" I asked her. "I know I should have all the answers, but I don’t know." She said just as Dean comes up to us. "Sam, (y/n), you guys ready?" Dean asked. Sam and I nod and go to the car while Jenny thanks all of us.
"Don’t you three be strangers." Missouri said to us. "We won’t." Dean said. "See you around." She said and Jenny waves. The boys and I smile, get in the car, and drive away.
