experimenting with andy park

Andy was next. He mentioned he didn't need much training. He knew his skills and how fast he could go. He knew his limitations. I watched him zoom around the golf course, coming back without breaking a sweat.

"Andy!" I called, my hair flying while Andy did another round around me. "Andy, stop first."

He stopped right in front of me with questioning eyes.

"Have you ever tried to run on water?" I asked and he shook his head. He said the thought never occurred to him. Not once. "Would you like to find out if you could? I mean, if you go fast enough... maybe. Just maybe, you'd be able to run on water."

"But I'm really fast. Really, really, really, fast," he insisted. "Do you think I can run on water?"

"I'm not sure. Should we find out?"

"What does science say?" he asked, motioning to the manor behind him. "Aro said that if science says it's possible, then it is."

I didn't have to meet Aro to know he abided by the rules of science based on what the others said about him. Except I failed chemistry and physics so I'm was not sure of the science.

"Most probably... Doesn't hurt to try!"

We both ended up by the massive pool, Andy jumping up and down to warm himself. I massaged his back, repeating the words "let's go, let's go, let's go," to hype him up when he knelt down on the ground and went for it.

"Wait! Andy! Do you know how to swim—Andy!"

Andy had sped towards the pool, but for some reason and that reason was nervousness as he would state later on, his legs stopped working and he was now drowning with two of his hands in the air as he screamed under water.

"Andy!"

Ready to jump in, he waddled to the edge of the pool, and I let out a sigh of relief. He busted out laughing and I joined in.

"Andy, you can't stop running when you reach the middle of the pool!"

"I know," he answered meekly with a new sense of determination in his eyes. "Let me try again!"

With my heart at ease with the fact that Andy could swim, he turned to the pool and in less than a second, he disappeared. I could tell he was nailing it from the water droplets spraying from the speed of his legs. Ripples of water expanded on the surface of the pool, his body becoming a blur.

He stopped, having crossed the pool.

"Amazing," I whispered. "Andy, you did it!"

"I did it, didn't I?" he asked, jumping excitedly. "Can I do that again?"

It was funny how he asked for permission, but I nodded and monitored the rest of his training session until he got exhausted. I told him to rest, and I wondered why the other managers did not enjoy their jobs – this was honestly the most fun I've had in a while.
