"And though she be but little, she is fierce."- Shakespeare

//

WHEN WE ARRIVED at the house, Gramps tried to help me out of the car. I chuckled. "Grandpa, all I did was break my arm, I didn't break my legs."

He gave me a glare and I started laughing, causing him to flash me a small smile. I got on the porch and sat on the swing, looking out onto the sky. Gramps sat beside me and furrowed his eyebrows. "What are you looking at?"

"Ponyboy told me to look at the sunset when I get home. I've never noticed it before, so I'm waiting for it."

He nodded his head and looked with me. I gasped. "It's beautiful!"

My Grandpa smiled. "I never really paid attention to how beautiful the sunset is."

"I haven't either, but now I'm going to." I spoke, instantly thinking of Pony.

He chuckled to himself and I glanced over at him in confusion. "What's so funny?"

"Love." He sighed, and I awkwardly looked away. I do NOT want to talk about this topic with my grandpa.

"I know you're thinking of him." He spoke and I buried my face into my hands, groaning. "Gramps, I don't want to talk about this right now."

"Look, even if you don't want to listen to me, just listen. I did the same thing with your grandma. I still think about her everyday." His voice changed when he talked about grandma. You could tell they were in love with each other.

I cracked a smile and we rocked back and forth on the porch swing until the sunset faded, leaving nothing but darkness. We stood up and walked inside and I instantly hopped in the shower, being careful about the huge cast on my arm.

Everything I did was difficult. I never realized how grateful I should be for my arm. After about an hour in the shower, I finally stomped out of the bathroom. My grandpa looked at me and busted out into laughter. I tried glaring at him, but miserably failed and started laughing too. "That cast is hard on ya, huh?"

I let out a big sigh and collapsed on the couch with a huge frown on my face. "I can't even brush my hair!"

He stood up and went to grab something while I continued my pity party on the couch. When he entered, I sat up and instantly ran over to him, hugging him so tight he literally pushed me off. He grabbed the brush and started brushing my hair, getting the tangles out one by one. Once he finished, I grabbed the brush and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "You're the best, Gramps. I don't know what I'd do without ya."

He winked at me. "You couldn't live without me."

"Really?" I questioned.

"Really?" He mocked me and I started laughing.

I told him goodnight and went to my bedroom. I'm actually.... excited for school tomorrow. Bob won't be bothering me, I get to see Ponyboy tomorrow, and everything will just be awesome.

AS SOON AS my alarm went off, I jumped out of bed and sprinted to my closet, throwing on clothes.

When I got downstairs, Gramps was in his rocking chair as usual. I blew him a goodbye kiss and ran out the door, catching up to Pony and Johnny just in the nick of time. I put my hand on each of their shoulders, causing them to jump.

I started giggling. "You guys were going to leave without me?"

Johnny shook his head. "Of course not. We were about to wait by the stop sign for you."

I nodded my head and we continued walking in silence. "I looked at the sunset last night like you told me." I exclaimed, looking for any sign of emotion on Pony's face.

He just shrugged his shoulders and I moved my hand away. "Somebody woke up on the wrong side of bed today." I mumbled under my breath and I walked ahead of them, not even trying to make conversation.

When we got inside of the school building, all of the Soc's were glaring at me, causing me to roll my eyes. "Oh boo hoo, I got your leader expelled. Big deal." I snapped and ran into Cherry's shoulders purposely, just because she gave me a dirty look.

I ran right past them and ran upstairs to Mr. Stilinski. I needed to talk to him. When I opened the door, he gave me a light smile. "I heard Bob got expelled."

I huffed and sat in my desk while rolling my eyes. "Yeah, and now all of his friends want to murder me."

He spotted my cast and furrowed his eyebrows. "What happened?"

I shrugged. "I punched Bob in the face."

His eyes went wide. "All you did was punch him in the face and you broke your arm?!"

I laughed. "No, he twisted my arm real bad a few weeks ago, and me punching him was kind of my last straw."

He shook his head. "You are something, Kieran."

I flipped my hair. "I know."

"I AM SO proud of you!" Eagan announced dramatically while putting her arm around me, causing me to drop the food on my spoon. I glared at her and she moved her hand away.

Pony and Johnny were completely quiet and I was getting pissed. What happened? Is it about me?

Eagan could not only see, but feel the tension, and excused herself so I could talk to them.

"What's wrong with you guys? Is it something I did because I don't understand how you can go from talking to me one day and completely ignoring me the rest." I crossed my arms and they both just still sat there not saying a word.

I was really pissed off now.

"Okay, you know what? I thought you guys were my best friends. You know you can tell me anything, right??" I asked, raising my voice.

Nothing.

I scoffed and stormed out of the cafeteria. If that's how they want to be, then two can play at that game.

Johnny

"I CAN'T KEEP not talking to her, Pony. Look! She just stormed out! We have to tell her sooner or later, you know that." I spoke while shaking my head.

Pony's eyes went wide. "You can't be serious, Johnny! Bob said he would kill her if we talked to her. I can't let her get hurt."

I shook my head in disagreement. "Us and the gang can protect her. We have to talk to her, Pony."

He hesitated, but then nodded at me. "We'll go to her house today and tell her everything."
