PONYBOY AND I walked home, the breeze flowing through my hair. Johnny was right beside me and didn't say a word as usual. The Bob incident was still bothering me. It happened only an hour ago, he can't catch up to me that fast can he?

I heard a Mustang roar up behind us and all of my blood left my body. Johnny looked like he was about to be sick and Ponyboy looked at both of us, concern evident on his face. The car doors slammed and I heard the familiar voice, making my whole stomach drop.

"Well, well, well, what do we have here? You thought you could just get away from me? Just because I'm not at school doesn't mean I can't kill you outside of it." Bob sneered, getting really close to my face.

He snapped his fingers and his minions, as I like to call them, grabbed Pony and tied him up with ropes so he couldn't break free. He then looked towards Johnny and I like we were his meal for dinner.

We are so dead.

"I swear if you lay a finger on either of them, I'll kill you!" Pony shouted, trying to wiggle out of the ropes.

Bob chuckled. "Randy, go get the duct tape since Horse boy over here can't keep quiet."

"His name is Ponyboy." I corrected in a rude tone, causing Bob to dig his cleats into my feet, making me yelp.

(she had sandals on and pretend Bob had cleats because he played soccer lol)

"Stop hurting her!" Johnny yelled, causing all of our eyes to go wide and look at him. Once Bob was finished being surprised that Johnny spoke up, he got right up in his face and held his rings up, carefully examining them. I've never seen Johnny so pale.

I punched Bob in his face, causing him to hold his cheek and look up at me in pure fury. "Don't mess with, Johnny! Mess with me!" I shouted, trying not to focus on the sharp pain that shot up through my arm.

He swung his fist at me and I dodged it just in time. "I'm glad my dad taught me volleyball." I spoke while smirking. I quickly snatched my volleyball out of my backpack and shouted. "Heads up!"

Before Bob could react, the volleyball connected with his face, causing him to fall backwards on the concrete. Johnny started laughing and I could tell Ponyboy was trying to, but he had about five layers of duct tape on his mouth.

I heard more people laughing and glanced up to see all of the gang cheering me on while laughing. I grinned and snatched my volleyball. "Looks like I'm going to have to wash this off once I get home. After all, it did come in contact with your face." I spoke with disgust while looking at Bob.

His minions helped Bob up and they drove away in their Mustang. I rushed over to Pony and removed all of the layers of duct tape from his face. "Are you okay?" I questioned and he laughed while nodding his head. "I think instead of asking me that, I should ask you."

I shrugged my shoulders. "I'm used to this. I just know when Bob gets the chance, he's going to bite back ten times harder than I did."

I helped Pony up and ran over to the gang who was with Johnny. Apparently, Johnny told them everything I did and they all praised me for it. I giggled. "Guys, you don't have to worship me. All I did was stick up for my friends. I'm absolutely positive you guys would do the same."

"Oh well, you saved my buddy. If it weren't for you, Johnny probably wouldn't be here right now. Let's all go to the Dingo and Jay's to celebrate." Dally patted me on the shoulder and Soda and Steve picked me up, putting me on both of their shoulders. I started laughing and didn't make them put me down. I didn't feel like walking anyway.

Once we got there, I jumped off of their shoulders and rushed inside the Dingo and Jay's. I came here all of the time with my parents, but ever since I've been with Gramps I've been having to live off can food.

The owner, Dale, gave me a hug and had a huge grin on his face. "It's about time you come back here, little Missy! How you holding up?" He asked and I looked down at the ground.

(ALSO, THIS IS PROBABLY HOW KIERAN FEELS WHEN BOB TALKS TO HER LMAO)

"I could be better, but Gramps and I are doing good." I spoke and he nodded and gave me a sympathetic smile while leading us to our seats.

Pony, Johnny, Dally, and I sat at one booth and the others sat at the booth behind us. I sat beside Pony and was across from Dally, while Dally and Johnny sat side by side and Johnny was across from Ponyboy.

"You know, Dale?" Ponyboy questioned with a shocked expression on his face. Dale and I said at the same time. "Of course I do!" Except he said, "Of course she does!"

"Her parents used to take her here every single day." He spoke and then realized he said too much. He wrote down my order because he already knew what I wanted and then walked away, leaving me to talk to the guys.

They all looked at me and Pony laid his hand on my shoulder. "You don't have to tell us if you don't want to."

I shook my head. "No, I need to tell you guys. You all are my best friends now. Y'all deserve to know. The others in the booth turned towards me and I took a deep breath.

"Two months ago, my life was completely normal. I had two parents who never fought around me, a dad who taught me all kinds of sports in our backyard, and a mom who never failed to make me smile and who could throw down on some cooking. My dad taught me two main sports though, and it was volleyball and basketball. I played volleyball and basketball all throughout high school, but dropped out this year. It was just too much for me to handle. I always thought of my dad every time I picked a volleyball or basketball up. I still keep my volleyball in my backpack though, so that's why I grabbed it out of my backpack today."

I took a deep breath and continued talking. "My mom always cooked the best chicken. My dad and I literally never got burnt out on her chicken." I chuckled at the thought and then frowned, realizing I didn't have them anymore. "So, I went over to my Gramps's house and I live with him now. I love him to death, it's just I basically have to live off can food with him, and he's so over-protective after what happened with my parents. I always have to be home by eight."

Everyone told me they were sorry - and I could tell they truly meant it. I gave them a light smile and they returned one. "Guys, let's go to the Nightly Double. We'll let Pony and Kieran talk." Soda announced in a weird way. I saw from the corner of my eye, Pony shot him a glare.

Soda gave us a huge smile and the rest of the gang walked out. It was awkwardly quiet, so I decided to break the ice. "Why weren't you there today when you said you were going to be?"

He gave me a confused look. "What are you talking about?"

"At lunch you said you were going to be there for me when Bob comes. You weren't there. I fought him off, so it's no biggie, it's just I wanted to know you were there for me." I explained and he gave me a light grin.

"I sit where the window is, so I can see if he's hurting you or not. I saw that you took care of him, so I didn't feel the need to go out there."

I nodded my head, relieved.

"So, I told you about my life. Tell me about yours." I remarked while taking a sip of my chocolate shake.

And that one sentence I said, started something between Pony and me.
