"Y/N!".

You heard your name being shouted by your boss Ms Grant.

You had brought in a report you worked on for the last couple of weeks and thought she only shouted you over due to it not having enough work into it.

You stepped into her office, hands behind your back.

"you uh, called me Ms Grant?"

"do you have any idea how long it has been since this was first published?"

She points to the report you brought in, finding out about Supergirl's identity and who she is.

"oh, that is the Supergirl identity thing you told me to work on... Wait... When did you last ask me?"

"it's been over 6 months and now I get it back?"

Back then, you were the one to have the report done and finished within 2 to 3 days, but now, you were always very late bringing in reports, you had so much going on in your life, mostly family issues, you didn't have enough time to work on reports as much as you used to.

"I... I apologise Ms Grant, I just don't have enough time to..."

"well done" Cat smiles, thinking you've done an excellent job.

"oh, um... Thank you".

"but it still doesn't earn you a high pay check for 6 months work".

You rolled your eyes and groaned.

"um, Ms Grant, oh... Hello Y/N" Cat's assistant and Journalist of Cat-Co walks through the door and stops in her tracks.

"hi Kara" you smile at her.

She had 2 coffees in her hand, one was for you apparently.

"I uh, got your coffee Ms Grant and one for you too Y/N, since you've been low on energy recently" Kara smiles at you while handing you the coffee mug.

"thank you very much" you smiled brightly at her, taking a sip and realising she got you your favourite coffee.

"you got my favourite, how did you know?"

"James".

"ah" you chuckled.

Cat clears her throat, grabbing your attention.

"oh, apologies Ms Grant, I'll uh, dismiss myself".

You turned to leave her office, leaving Kara to speak with Cat alone, you popped into James' office and spoke with him.

"so, Kara told me you told her about my favourite Latte?"

"yeah, she's a keeper, she knows you've been struggling and wanted to help you".

"oh? That's very kind of her" you smiled thinking about her.

The fact is, you had a small crush on the Girl of Steel and she looks a lot like Kara, they both have the same voice, facial structure, same eyes, same hair, etc.

Kara then walks into James' office and sees you speaking with him.

"hi you two, what you talking about?"

"oh you know? Y/N's asking me if I told him about well... Y'know?"

"I was just curious, that's all".

"oh uh, yeah yeah, it's ok, I saw that you were low on energy recently and I thought it would be nice to help you, and I also like you" she immediately covers her mouth with her hands, almost letting out something she's kept secret to herself.

You almost spat your coffee and widened your eyes, James stood in disbelief.

"wait, what was that? You like him?"

Kara starts blushing immediately "uh... I-I-I, uhhh? No I... I mean? Yes I... Oh Rao".

She covers her mouth once again, you stood there confused and shocked while James looked at you and Kara back in fourth.

"Who's... Rao? What's a Rao?" you question?

"Kara's just speaking jibberish" James saves her other hidden secret, a secret you are skeptical about.

"wait a second, I've heard Supergirl say that once after she rescued me one time" you look at James and Kara, "so, if Supergirl said that, and Kara said that then *realises* holy crap!".

You put your coffee and immediately hug Kara.

"you're her! I freaking knew it!"

"Y/N keep your voice down" James whispered.

"oh *pulls back from hugging Kara* sorry, I'm just, surprised that's all" you say smiling like an idiot.

"um" was the only thing Kara could say, she was embarrassed and felt awkward.

"so uh... Does that mean, you're literally wearing the suit underneath your clothes?"

"y-y-yeah" she unbuttons her shirt and reveals the S symbol on her suit.

You tried to contain your inner excitement, you only met Kara 8 months ago and became good friends and Co-Workers with her but learning her secret? Was something you've been trying to uncover since she mostly bailed when danger was reported on the TV screens at Cat-Co.

"I... Wow... What's even awkward is... I actually have a small, just a small crush on Supergirl, so... This just made it awkward" you blush lightly and scratch the back of your neck, James stands there and chuckles at the both of you, Kara was blushing brightly, she has never felt so awkward in her life either as Kara Danvers or Supergirl.

"I uh, should get going now, maybe we uh, continue this later?" you pick up your coffee and immediately leave James' office, leaving Kara with James alone.

"well... I've never felt so awkward in my life" Kara buttons up her shirt to cover her suit.

"so, you like him huh?" James asked Kara, teasing her a little.

"well... Yeah I-I do" she was embarrassed to admit it, her face was bright red to prove it.

"why not ask him out?"

"but, how am I supposed to? He now knows I'm Supergirl, I can't just ask him out straight away, like how?" she questions.

"he likes you too, he just admitted it there".

"you do have a point but... I don't know how to ask him out though... It just... Feels awkward".

"want me to tell him?" James asks.

"no, I'll do it, I'll ask him out, tonight, we live beside each other so... Yeah".

Fast forward to tonight after a long and awkward day at Cat-Co, you and Kara exchanged smiles and she would only look when you weren't.

You were sitting on the couch, thinking of a way to speak to Kara after the whole big find out.

You were about to leave and go to Kara's door, and you opened the door and saw Kara standing there, her fist was in the air like she was about to knock.

"hi" she breathes out.

"hey" you say back.

"so, that was an interesting day at work wasn't it?"

"yeah, and you uh left early, guessing Supergirl was needed?"

She nods her head lightly while biting her bottom lip, eager to ask you something.

"I was wondering if you wanna go on a date with me?" her arms were behind her back, shy but felt confident to ask.

"yyyeah sure! I'd love to!" you chuckled.

"great!" she smiles, "tomorrow night?"

"yeah, I'm guessing that's when Supergirl is off duty?"

"yep, as long as there's no Alien attacking the city at that time" she giggles.

"cool, I'll see you then, I gotta work on another report again so... Yeah, I'll see you tomorrow".

"yeah, bye!" she scurries off.

"bye" you chuckle before closing the door and celebrate about scoring a date with Kara.

Kara closes the door behind her and grabs a pillow on the couch and screams happily into it, she couldn't wait to tell her adopted sister Alex about her date since she would need help of finding the perfect dress...
