Karl decided to travel once more. This time, he travelled to a past where two lovers destined together lived.

"Charles!" bubbly laughter snapped his eyes open. The wind passed by, causing the grass to dance along gently. Tickling his back and little parts of bare skin. Before he could sit up, arms wrapped themselves around his torso, snuggling against his side. The touch had him melting almost immediately.

Here, he felt serene, as if this is where he belonged. He had the urge to never go back but he knew he didn't fit in this timeline, this was a few hundred or thousand years back. His head turned to look at the person who hugged him, seeing a face that reminded him of his own beloved.
