A/N This starts with Kara attending the dinner and if there is any confusion feel free to ask me!!
Kara felt warm and awkward in her Stark armour. The iron breastplate that was decorated with two direwolves was heavy, and uncomfortable especially for a woman. Instead she opted for a light cream shirt, that loosely sat on her shoulders. She lost the bun as well, letting her blonde locks be loose.
She made no attempt as well to cover her scar that went over her brow down her cheek. Though it had faded she had been told to cover it, she never listened.
She was now left wearing a shirt with a Grey Stark tunic. A simple pair of grey trousers and a pair of boots.
There was a knock on her door, Kara went over and opened it. She was met by a man who was wearing unsullied gear.
"Her Grace is asking for you presence" He spoke, his accent was also foreign but perfectly clear to understand. He provided no emotion with the request which Kara knew wasn't a request
Kara smiled, an attempt to make the room a bit brighter. It didn't really work
"Right, we shouldn't keep her majesty waiting" Kara closed her door and followed the soldier, she was brought across large hallways to a room at the end.
The door was opened and Kara was let in. The door was immediately closed after her, she glanced around the room. In the middle sat a table ornate with carvings of dragons and fire.
She looked up to find the Dragon Queen leaning on her balcony. Kara cleared her throat to catch her attention, it came out more awkward than she intended
"Lady Snow" Lena turned around and walked over. She gestured to the small table and Kara took a seat after the Queen did.
"If we are going to continue with the titles might as well call me Kara" Kara smiled gently but she stopped when Lena didn't smile back
"Well then Kara, how does a woman gain as many ranks as yourself? Among men?" Lena started to eat the food provided
Kara blushed slightly, she ran her hand through her hair. Something she did every time she was nervous "I'm not the Queen of Meereen, or of the Andals"
"Yet somehow you were chosen to be queen of the North"
Kara bit into the chicken, slightly caught of guard by the spices. In the North is was mostly just stews
"Something my father instilled in me. A man should always stay true to their words. The truth is one of the few decent things that exist anymore, I live by that" Kara spoke from her heart. She missed her father, he was a good man. He got killed for his honour.
"You're no politician"
Kara laughed, Lena was slightly caught of guard by the Joy from the soldier "No that's my sister, to be honest most Starks aren't really politicians. We're stubborn and loyal"
Lena finally gave a natural smile, which made Kara smile
"Look I'm sorry about earlier but I cannot bend the knee. I serve a stubborn nation who has suffered at the hand of a southern ruler. I cannot bend the knee, especially to a southern ruler who hasn't proved themselves" Kara spoke as gently as she could. She braced herself for an angry rant, but instead she was met by genuine curiosity
"You do not see my as a foreign ruler?"
Kara was confused by the question but she answered truthfully "You said it yourself, you were born in Dragonstone" Kara gestured around the room "Which is in the south, well I mean I think it is" Kara tilted her head in slight confusion, she never really understood Westerosi history
"You are truly different Kara Snow" Lena sat back in her chair
Kara cheeks flushed, her hand made its way to her hair once again "I don't have three Dragons"
Lena continued to eat but her smile never left her face. She never expected Kara to be so kind. From experience women rarely ever treated her kindly, and people with Kara's experience were always egotistical.
"What are their names?" Kara asked as a dragon flew past the window
"The biggest is Drogon, named after my late husband Khal Drogo. The others are Viserion and Rhaegal named after my brothers" Lena had a sense of pride in her voice, she raised her children through thick and thin.
Kara felt like she had just lost something at the mention of a husband. She hated that she felt that way "I'm sorry to hear about your husband" she tried to sound as remorseful as she could
Lena shook her head "I am the Khaleesi of the great grass sea without him. I do not need a Khal anymore"
"I'm sorry I feel like I know nothing. What does Khaleesi mean?"
Lena stood up and walked over to the balcony and Kara followed suit. It was still a warm evening and the sun was setting lighting the sky on fire.
"It means queen in Dothraki. We both have our titles but what does 'the resurrected' mean?"
Kara immediately got nervous. She hated talking about it, especially to a woman she just met "one time beyond the wall. I got stuck in an icy cave and everyone assumed me dead but I managed to get home" Kara lied, she had practiced that story many times. Only a handful of people knew that she a blade to the heart and a red witch brought her back for a destiny she didn't want.
"Obviously beyond the wall is more dangerous than I thought" Lena sounded skeptical
There was a knock on the door and Tyrion walked in "I'm glad to see you haven't torn each other's throat out yet" He handed a piece of paper to Kara "Your sister sent you a Raven"
Kara took the piece of paper, it had the Stark Sigil which hadn't been broken yet. "I'm sorry Your Grace, I must excuse myself"
The queen nodded and Kara made her way back to her own room with a guard trailing behind her. Once she was in her own room she broke seal and started to read
This letter is for the eyes of Queen Kara Snow.
Kara chuckled at the mention of her title, it was Sansa's way of reminding her not to bend the knee
I have good news, Bran and Arya have returned.
Kara's eyes immediately started to mist up. Her siblings were still alive, especially Arya because she always had a special bond with her youngest sister
However the North is getting weary without it's Queen. Please return once you have got the dragonglass. Sincerely your sister
Sansa Stark.
Kara rolled up the scroll and sat down, Sansa was right. She needed to return home.
(Next day)
This time Kara wore her full uniform as she dubbed it when she met the queen. In the throne room once again she felt as if the friendliness from last night disappeared.
"Your Grace, my presence is needed in the North but I cannot leave without asking you for something"
Lena was wearing her black garbs. With a dragon pin sitting on her chest "Speak your request?"
"As much as your military aid would be helpful. My true intention is to mine the Dragonstone under this island. It's one of the few things that can kill a wight."
There was a moments silence
"Very well"
Kara let out a sigh of relief
"However I will not provide military aid until you bend the knee"
Kara shook her head remorsefully "I cannot but I thank you Your Grace. My men will start mining and I will return north"
Kara was standing on the cliff looking down at the sea. The breeze was blowing her hair out of her face. She enjoyed the way the cold wind nipped at her face, it reminded her of home. She found comfort in her sword had been returned to her.
That's when she heard a screech and a thud. She turned around to meet a giant creature with it's teeth bared at her. She noticed the red scales assuming it was Drogon
"Hey big guy" Kara looked at the creature as if it was a giant cat. She was nervous, in fact terrified but she wouldn't show it.
She slipped off her glove of her right hand, and slowly walked closer to the beast.
"You're a lot more handsome in person" Kara smiled, she knew that the creature probably didn't understand her.
The dragon leaned forward and let Kara place her hand on his muzzle. She ran her hand down his scales, it was surprisingly soft.
"Dragons don't usually warm up to people who aren't Targaryen"
Kara looked up in surprise to find Lena dismounting the dragon
"He's beautiful" Kara said as he flew away to join his brothers.
Kara glanced over to her left, to her horror an arrow came flying in Lena's direction. Without even think Kara threw herself in front of Lena. She grunted in pain as the arrow lodged itself in her left arm. She drew her sword with her good hand and placed herself in front of Lena to defend her.
That's when she saw a cloaked man rising from a rock
Kara pulled the arrow out of her arm. She bit her lip so not yell in pain. She handed the bloody arrow to Lena "Use this in case"
She knew that was going to be bloody fight.
So I'll do a part 3 if you guys are up for it
