When the sun began to appear, Lightning and Luigi set off to rescue Mario. Luigi followed Lightning through the forest to an abandoned mansion. Luigi stopped and just stared at it with a scared expression. "Come on Luigi! Let's go save your brother" Lightning told him. Luigi snapped back into reality as he replied, "y-yeah let's a go!"

They both entered the mansion. Luigi has a bad feeling about it. Unbeknownst to them, three Gastly watched them from a distance.

"We must tell the king that the scaredy cat has arrived" one of the Gastly said. The other two nodded and disappeared in the darkness.

In a large room in the mansion was Mario and King Boo who was watching him with his dark stare. The three Gastly casually entered the room by going through the walls.

"Your majesty, we are happy to inform you that the scaredy cat brother has arrived" one of the Gastly told him.

"That's great, now it is finally time to track him down" King Boo replied.

"But it seems that he isn't alone. This yellow pest with a heart-shaped tail is with him" another one of the Gastly reported.

"A yellow pest?! Well then get rid of it. It might ruin our plan" King Boo ordered.

"Of course your majesty, I'm sure it won't take very long to get those two. Without his trusty vacuum he can't defeat us so easily. It'll be a piece of cake" the third Gastly said.

"Good! Now go my subjects. Bring them to me!" King Boo ordered. The three Gastly didn't have to be told twice. They left their King with Mario as they go track down Luigi and Lightning.

King Boo turned to Mario. "I had word with my Boos! You're pathetic little brother has finally arrived! My boos are already searching for him now!" King Boo told him. "He'll be mine soon enough!"

"Don't be cocky. You can't expect that you'll be able to get him. My brother reigned victorious on you and saved me twice now and he'll surely do it again" Mario replied.

"Don't be so sure! I got a master plan up my sleeve!" He responded with an evil grin.

"Master plan?! What master plan?!" Mario asked.

"Pfft, like I'd tell you!!" King Boo replied.

Mario growled at his statement. "I'll be back. Don't go anywhere, oh right you can't!!" King Boo cackled as he left Mario alone to yank at the chains.

Luigi and Lightning walked aimlessly through the mansion, checking rooms and watching each other's backs as they do.

Suddenly, the three Gastly surrounded them. Lightning and Luigi gasped. "We're trapped!!!" Luigi cried, trembling in fear. "Don't give up yet Luigi"Lightning tells him. Lightning uses Thunderbolt on the Gastly trio. The three were stunned but didn't seem to give up yet. The three use Dark Pulse as Lightning uses electro ball and Luigi uses Shadow Ball to counter the attacks. Lightning knocks one of the Gastly back with Iron Tail as Luigi does the same. Lightning attacks the third with Thunderbolt. The three Gastly then fled from the battle.

"W-we did it!!" Luigi smiled. Lightning smiled back at him. "You did great your first time battling."

Luigi blushes. "Aw! Thanks!"
