Mario, Luigi and Yoshi continued through the forest until they reached a certain cave.

"YO YO YO!!!" Yoshi said.

"So this is the place according to Yoshi." Mario told Luigi.

"A-are you sure?" Luigi asked.

"Well let's go see." They leaped off of Yoshi.

"Yoshi, you should stay in the entrance of the cave. Come to us if anything happens." Luigi told him.

"YOSHI!" Yoshi nodded.

"Come on Luigi.

"We'll be back." Luigi said before following his brother inside.

Once they were inside, Luigi spotted Lightning tied in vines. Lightning looked up to see the brothers. "Mario!!! Luigi!!!" She gasped in joy.

"Lightning!!" Luigi ran towards her and pulled her into a big hug.

"Luigi, thank goodness you two are here and okay as well. My sister and her friends are out but I don't know when they'll be back. If they see you, they'll going to kill you." Lightning told them.

"Don't worry Lightning, we'll get you outta here." Luigi told her, attempting to bite through the vines.

"Please hurry Luigi..." Lightning said. "...You never know when they'll..."

Suddenly, Yoshi ran in the cave. "Yoshi? What are you doing in here? Is something wrong?" Mario asked.

"YOSHI!!!"

At that moment, Audra, Gir and Charlotte returned to the cave and saw the brothers. "You two!!! Get them Gir... You too Charlotte."

"Yes Master Audra" they hissed. Gir was heading towards Mario while Charlotte was heading towards Luigi.

"Oh no, Luigi, you need to go. I don't want them to hurt you."

"I-I don't want to leave you here."

"I know you don't want to leave me behind but I can't bear to see you get hurt."

Audra turned to see Luigi. "You stay away from my sister, fool!!!" Audra used Discharge, shocking poor Luigi and making him collapse to the ground.

"LUIGI!!! NO!!" Lightning shouts.

Mario turned away from Gir for a second to see Luigi laying on the ground. He growled at Audra. "How dare you! No one hurts my little brother!" Mario then ran towards Audra. She smirked, ready to attack at any moment.

"Mario stop!" Lightning warns.

Mario didn't listen and instead lunged forward with Iron Tail. Audra used her own Iron Tail and hit Mario in the side as he rolled across the floor.

Luigi slowly raised his head to see his big brother laying on his side on the ground. "M-Mario? Mario!"

Luigi slowly got to his paws and glared at Audra. "W-why are you so cruel?"

"Because I am" Audra answered. She used Thunderbolt but Luigi quickly dodged.

Luigi used a barrage of Shadow Ball attacks. Audra dodged a few of them but was unable to dodge some others.

"Yes! Go Luigi! I know you can do this!" Lightning chants.

Gir and Charlotte turned to each other and nodded their fake Pikachu faces. They slid towards Lightning.

"What do you want?" Lightning asked them.

The two Mimikyus didn't answer and instead started to charge a Shadow Ball aiming at her.

"Hey scaredy-cat!!"

Luigi turned around with a death stare. "I am not a-" he gasped once he saw what they were about to do.

"No, don't hurt her, please..." Luigi begged timidly.

"Luigi it's a trap. It's a distraction. Look out behind you!!" Luigi turned around only to get slapped across the face with Iron Tail. He glared at Audra while rubbing his right cheek in pain. "Two can play that game."

Luigi struck her with his own Iron Tail and used Shadow Ball. Suddenly a random Fire Blast hit Audra too. Luigi turned around to see a Flareon behind him get up from the ground. "Mario?"

"Luigi, are you alright?" Mario asked.

"I'm fine, don't worry about me. We need to worry about Lightning right now. She's more important."

"And so is beating her sister and her minions. I'll take care of Audra, you stop those two Mimikyus."

"Got it bro." Luigi ran towards Lightning and the Mimikyus.

Luigi used Iron Tail on Charlotte and Bite on Gir. They growled at him in anger.

Charlotte and Gir used Play Rough. They surrounded Luigi in a cloak of smoke and stars and repeatedly slapped him with their wooden stick tails.

"Stop!! Don't hurt him anymore please!!" Lightning begged.

Once they finished, Luigi collapsed to the ground at Lightning's paws.

"No, Luigi get up. Get up!"

"I-I can't..." he mumbled.

"Yes you can, just don't give up. Show them what you can do."

Luigi looked up at her and slowly got to his paws. He turned to the two Mimikyus angrily. Luigi used Bite.

Lightning smiled at him. "Come on Luigi, finish them."

Luigi glared at them and used Bite once more, the Mimikyus collapsed to the ground defeated.

"Luigi you did it!! You did a great job" Lightning commented.

"Thanks..." Luigi blushes profoundly from the praise he got.

"Let's get you outta there." He used Bite on the vines until they were finally torn through enough that Lightning was finally able to escape.

"Thank you Luigi." Lightning hugged him tightly.

"No problem. Oh... I almost forgot..." he searched through his pocket to find Lightning's bow. "Here... You dropped this." Luigi put her bow back around her right ear again like it was.

"Huh? My bow? I didn't even realized it fell off. Thank you so much. This bow means a lot to me." Lightning told him.

"I know... That's why I couldn't wait to give it back to you. Your bow means a lot to you just like my hat means a lot to me." Luigi said.

"That explains why you wear it all the time. It's adorable."

"Hehe.." Luigi giggled.

"Come on we should help Mario stop my sister."

"Right." Luigi nodded.

That's the end of chapter 44. I know what I said about not doing updates during the weekends but I got bored and I don't think I updated anything on Friday. I might do some more updates later today. I don't know... It depends. Anyways, more coming soon. I hope you enjoyed ^U^
