Klefki flew past the other cells filled with many other criminals. However, they didn't seem to notice her presence as some of them were sleeping while others were staring at the wall muttering to themselves.

Suddenly, Klefki heard something and saw a Blastoise carrying a bunch of keys on a key chain. She quickly hid in the corner. She watched the Blastoise put a slightly larger key in a key hole to a glass case that had a big red bottom on it that said, "release".

He pressed it as all the cell doors opened. "It's dinner time you ragamuffins!" He shouted. "Get out of your cells and go to the lunchroom unless you don't want to eat!" He announced harshly.

"Dinner time?" Mario questioned.

A green Espeon with diamond earrings turned to look at them. "Yup, and if you want some you better hurry because the fat Snorlax's will eat it all." She muttered. "Now move it scrubs. I don't have all day." She grabbed ahold of Mario's scruff and threw him out of the cage roughly.

Luigi stood up and glared at the green Espeon. "Hey, that's my big brother, Mario, you just shoved. You need to learn some respect!" Luigi told her.

"Excuse me... Was that back talking I heard criminal? I don't like when criminals back talk me. I don't take orders from criminals, boy!" She then head butted Luigi with such force that he hit the cell wall with a thud.

"Now, move it or lose it, clod!" The Espeon shouted at him before walking off.

Lightning walked towards Luigi and helped him up. "Are you okay, Luigi?" She asked.

"I'm fine... Just a little bruise in the back of the head." He answered.

"Peridot isn't the nicest Pokémon here. She was abandoned and treated as an outcast for her coloring until she was hired to be a guard here. I'm sorry about how she treated you guys. She thinks you two are criminals and it's not true. We'll get out of here soon. Then we won't have to deal with Pokémon like her. Just be calm and stay strong. Now come on..." Lightning told them. She helped Mario back up and they walked to the lunchroom.

Klefki watched as Lightning and the brothers were forced to leave their cell to eat.

A Muk dropped a spoon full of berry soup in a few bowls and gave it to Mario, Luigi and Lightning. They sat down at an old lunch table. Luigi didn't feel at all hungry and surprisingly Mario didn't either. Lightning just pushed her bowl away from her with disgust. "This isn't at all advertising. I like to eat berries that are not on a disgusting looking soup that a bunch of Muk and Grimer made. Why did they even have to mess with it? It was good as it was." She whined.

"Yeah... Maybe this is what gullible soup looks like..." Mario muttered to himself.

Luigi just sighed in despair. Mario turned to him with a concerned look. "What's wrong, Luigi?" He asked.

"I just miss home." Luigi answered.

Lightning put a paw on Luigi's shoulder. "Don't worry I'll get you home soon. We'll save your Princess and bring you all back home where you belong."

Suddenly, Lightning was grabbed by a Seviper. He wrapped himself around her. "Ah... If it isn't the former Ssssstarter Squad member Lightning." He hissed.

"Hi Venom... How has being in prison been, eh?" Lightning responded, trying to hide fear.

"Oh... It's going sssswell." He told her sarcastically.

Mario and Luigi glared at Venom. "Let her go!" They yelled.

"Oh... Are you friend's of herssss. How very interesssting." He hissed, sarcastically. He unwrapped Lightning and stared at the brothers.

"Don't touch them!" Lightning yells.

"Oh relax, Scaredy-Chu. I just want to play with them." Venom almost snapped at them with his fangs until the metal  ring around his neck, zapped him, making him recoil.  He groaned in frustration, "sssstupid thing."

Venom hissed loudly as an Arbok appeared. He slapped Lightning with his tail, as she collapsed to the ground.

     "Lightning!" Mario and Luigi cried. They both threw their soup at the Arbok and Seviper as they flinched. "You leave her alone!" Luigi cried.

Suddenly, a bunch of Garchomps and Gabite's surround them. "Alright, you mischievous bunch. Fun time is over!! Back to your cells now!!" One of the Garchomp said. The Gabite leads them back to their cells to lock them in. They managed to get Lightning and the brothers in but they were having trouble with the two snakes.

Klefki watched in the darkness, waiting for her chance to steal the key to unlock their door. The Gabite carrying the keys had to help with Venom and the Arbok. He was slapped in the face with Venom's tail as he loses the keys. Klefki got ahold of the keys in her key ring and hid back in the darkness to avoid being caught.

Once the Gabites were brought in their cages. A different Gabite who has another set of keys locked them in. He twirled the keys in victory before leaving.

Klefki hoped she got the right set of keys as she flew towards their cage. "I think I got them. We'll just have to wait until the perfect time to escape." She whispered. 

"Nice work" they whispered.

"We'll try them tonight when everyone is asleep." Lightning whispered. "Hopefully they don't find out they're missing in the mean time."

Mario and Luigi nodded in agreement.
