Mario, Luigi, Lightning and Klefki made it to the entrance of the Starter Squad headquarters. Luigi took a step forward. Lightning walked beside him.

"You ready Luigi?"

"I'm ready." Luigi replied.

Mario walked ahead of them. "Then let's a go."

"Mario, wait! Don't rush in. You could get into trouble!" Lightning shouted at him, but Mario didn't listen and rushed into the cave.

"Come on Luigi!" Lightning told him.

"Okay." Luigi nodded. They rushed inside after Mario.

When they were inside, they saw Mario being tackled down by a Charmander and Squirtle.

"MARIO!!!" Luigi shouted, running towards them, But Lightning grabbed his paw.

"Luigi, wait."

The Charmander and Squirtle faced  them. Their red eyes stared at them with hatred. "More intruders!" The Charmander growled.

"Luigi, stay behind me." Lightning said, walking forward going in a battle stance.

Luigi walked to her side. "No, I want to help. They got my brother."

Lightning sighed. "Fine... Just be careful."

"Got it! Hang on Mario!" He called.

"Luigi! Be careful!" Mario cried, struggling to get out of their grasp.

"Don't worry Mario, I'm with Lightning." Luigi told him.

The Charmander used Ember at Luigi. He jumped to dodge and used Shadow Ball.

Lightning used Thunderbolt on the Squirtle. He was shocked by the powerful attack but didn't seem to give up or want to let go of Mario.

Luigi used Iron Tail on the Charmander. The Charmander lost his grip on Mario and he managed to break free out of the Squirtle's grasp. He ran to Luigi's side. "We can do this bro! Let's show them some Super Mario Teamwork."

"Oh, yeah." Luigi replied, shaking his brother's paw.

Mario and Luigi both used Shadow Ball and batted it at the two Starters while Lightning used Electro Ball. The Starters were easily taken down.

"Nice work guys." Lightning commented.

"Thanks" they replied in unison.

"Let's go, we still need to get to Paarthurnax."

The brothers nodded and followed Lightning.

                               ***
They made it to Paarthurnax who was right outside of his office. He spotted them.

"You need to leave now. This place is too dangerous." Paarthurnax warned.

"We see that. We just wanted to tell you that we have this case under control. Lightning said.

"Good. Now get to it and hur-" Suddenly Paarthurnax recoiled and put his claws to his forehead. He closed his eyes tightly and groaned.

"Paarthurnax!!! What's going on?" Lightning asked.

"Is everything okay?" Mario questioned.

Paarthurnax opened his eyes which were now red as well. He growled and used a random Flamethrower as if he was ready for a fight.

He glared at Lightning and the brothers and flew up in the sky towards them.

Lightning, Mario and Luigi backed up.

"RUN!!!!" Lightning shouted.

They bolted out of the headquarters and hid behind the closest trees to hide from Paarthurnax. He followed them out of the cave and roared in rage to find that he had lost them.

Luigi gulped and started to tremble. "I-I don't like this. This looks really bad." He pulled his hat over his eyes and quivered. Mario and Lightning both put a paw on his shoulders.

"It's okay. We'll figure this out together. Don't worry." Lightning said, kissing his cheek.

He looked up at her. "I hope so..."

Lightning gave him a small smile.

"We can do this bro. I know we can" Mario said.

"We'll find the culprit. I know we will." Lightning said.

"Hopefully..." Luigi thought.
