Chapter 4: Gravity Shifting Chaos!

At long last, Mario and his crew dash on to adventure! They pass right through their galaxy's edge, to find themselves in a whole new galaxy! And their first mission is already approaching...

The Mushroom Fleet traveled through the stars of a new sky. A purple tint colored said sky, and a blue, cold planet could be spotted from afar. Blistering asteroids also streaked the space sky in a graceful manner.

"Any updated reports, Blue?" Toad asked.

"Yes! We are in Meteor Sky, where I have located three galaxies! 2 have a Power Star, and the other one is currently out of our radar, so I could not gather much info." Blue Toad explained in reply.

"Very well!"

"So where are we going first, then?" Luigi asked.

"Wherever you want to! It's your adventure. Doesn't matter what you encounter you'll overcome it!" Toad answered gladly.

"Maybe if we got some extra detail on the galaxies, we could determine where to go first." Yoshi suggested.

"As you please!" Blue Toad overheard and responded. "South of us is the Gravitional Space Fleet Galaxy, and West of us is Fiery Moon Galaxy. The names speak for themselves, really."

"Hmm... The Space Fleet sounds good to me." Mario decided.

"Yeah, Fiery Moon doesn't sound too inviting..." Luigi added, nervous at the thought.

"We're gonna have to get there anyway." Yoshi said, and chuckled.

"Then the Fleet it is! Let's go!" Mario said, prepared.

"Great!" Toad said as he ordered Blue to open one of the capsules.

The capsule, which was labeled with a '#1' opened it's door, revealing a transparent Launch Star, giving off the look of it not being there.

"Alright, meet our newest invention, the Multi-Launch Star!" Toad proudly presented the particular artifact. "You can map the path yourself to the nearest source of Power Star energy! We have one per capsule because... well... If I were to tell you the scientific reason you'd be extremely confused." He went on explaining.

"I'm already confused..." Luigi commented.

"So in easy to understand terms, the Star energy varies between galaxies, so not all Launch Stars will detect it the same. Simple!" Blue added to the conversation.

"This feels like my 11th grade science class... What does a plumber need astronomy lessons for?" Luigi said, puzzled.

"For these types of adventures!" Toad replied.

".... Touché." Luigi simply rolled his eyes.

"Well, great gizmo and whatnot, but we must get that Power Star! Let's a go!" Mario said, and jumped into the Multi-Launch Star.

"Tracing Star Energy to Gravitational Space Fleet Galaxy! Off you go!" Blue Toad declared as he typed commands on the Panel, which turned the Launch Star a red blue color alternation, and activated, flinging Mario out of the ship to the heavens.

"HERE WE GO!!!" Mario happily yelled as he flew his way towards a space ship, with several parts of it orbiting it aimlessly.

"Okay..." Luigi said as he stepped in the invention, and was instantly sent as well. "AHHH!!! HELP!!!"

"Don't forget me!" Yoshi added as he jumped in, and blasted away. "YEAH! AWESOME!"

As the trio flew by the stars and approached their destination, the sky went from purple to a stormy gray. Clouds and the like were the main backdrop for this strange place.

"Man, pretty gloomy around here." Mario commented.

"Stormy skies are cool, but when it's all you can see in the horizon it's honestly odd." Yoshi added.

"Are you guys commenting on a bunch of gray clouds and sky? Doesn't seem inspired for me..." Luigi replied, indifferent.

"You got a point... But there's more than gray here." Yoshi said, and pointed to where they neared, the broken ship from earlier.

They passed through where the star was located; atop a platform, surrounded by malfunctioning parts that implied were protecting it.

"Looks like a simple ride from Point A to Point B. I'm quite used already." Mario said as the three landed on a metalic platform, not too far from the structure in front of them, a broken down, beaten space ship.

"The name doesn't imply such a simple walk...." Luigi said to Mario as they entered the ship.

Inside it, everything seemed destroyed and broken, although some screens on the ship were on, although they fell in static.

"Alright, let's get moving!" Mario told the other 2, and started running and jumping as normal, with Luigi and Yoshi following.

The walk was fairly easy until they stumbled upon a part of the ship's floor that was entirely missing, but at the other side of the jump electricity buzzed out of a run down machine.

"Okay, this jump requires some extra height we currently don't have..." Mario thought out loud.

"Maybe... we do a long jump!" Luigi suggested.

"A long jump will make you fall right in the electricity, Luigi!" Mario answered back.

"But I have electric powers..." Luigi replied as well, slightly puzzled.

Just as Mario was going to say something, the ship shook and moved wildly, as if it was attacked. The ship rotated around with the heroes inside, sending everything not attached to the ship everywhere.

"This is not good for my stomach... I ate breakfast!" Luigi said as he spun around, feeling dizzy.

"Man do you have a slow digestive system." Yoshi replied.

"Cut the chatter! Now's the chance!" Mario said to his friend and brother as the ship stopped spinning, and made the jump. "Woohoo! Easy peasy!"

"Uhh... Mario... The hole's not even there anymore." Yoshi pointed out, noticing that the hole they needed to jump across was instead, above them.

"Wha?" He looked up and saw the hole as well. "... Did we just switch gravity?"

"I thought walls were colored based on the gravity you were in... It's just plain gray around here." Luigi noticed as well. The three were now in the ceiling of the ship.

"Yeah... But this wasn't a switch by the ship. It's not even working at all." Yoshi replied.

"Well, let's keep moving." Mario said as he moved on forward.

The trio made it's way around the ship, passing broken machines and electric fences. They were halfway through the place.

"We've made some considerate progress!" Mario commented as they made their way around.

"Yep, no biggie." Yoshi said back as he jumped two electric fences.

"And the ship hasn't spun again!" Luigi happily said as he also made the jump, but one of his hands inadvertentdly smacked a lever on the roof... Er, ground. "What was that?"

"Shouldn't have said that Luigi..." Yoshi told him as he expected the ship to crazily spin again.

Instead, the ship rumbled quickly, displaying several colored lights with arrows on its walls on the remainder of the road, pointing to several directions based on its color.

"There are the walls I was talking about..." Luigi said, met with annoyed stares from his brother and buddy.

"DId we really need that?!" Mario and Yoshi yelled at Luigi in unison.

"... I'm sorry..." Luigi said shyly.

"Oh well. That's gonna make the ride much more trickier." Mario said to himself.

He signaled his companions to keep on moving, and so they all did. The group continued along, dodging obstacles and adjusting to gravity.

At one part, the gravity walls started shifting at weird rates, right above a hole in the floor, down to the stormy sky.

"This can't get any more convenient, am I right?!" Mario said as he examined what he had to do.

"Don't say that..." Yoshi replied, remembering what Luigi said.

Then, the walls shifted color right where they were, from blue to green, indicating a shift from down to right, making the three fall past the hole.

"Okay, we're good!" Mario said as he made it past the hole, where gravity faced down instead. Just as he crossed, gravity near the hole shifted upward, making Yoshi and Luigi fall safely above.

"Yikes, that was a sudden switch..." Yoshi thought as he planned out how to make the jump.

"Lets hurry before gravity changes again!" Luigi said as he ran to the other side.

"Yeah! Wait for me!" Yoshi followed along, but just then, gravity shifted downward.

"AHH!!!" Luigi yelled in panic and dove towards Mario amidst the gravity shift.

"Watch ou- OW!" Mario was interrupted as Luigi crashed on him, making both roll briefly.

"Ouch... Did Yoshi make it?" Luigi asked as he adjusted his cap.

"Yoshi?" Mario asked as well and looked towards the hole, to see that gravity had already shifted up, but Yoshi was nowhere to be seen.

"Are you there?!" Luigi started worrying and crawled towards the hole's edge to look.

"Yoshi!" Mario called out and went to Luigi's side.

"I don't see him... He fell down Mario!!" Luigi said and broke in tears.

"No, he didn't!" Mario said, attempting to calm down his brother.

"No I didn't!" Yoshi suddenly yelled, still not being seen.

"Wha?!" Luigi took a full look downward.

Yoshi was barely holding on to a worn down rope coming from the ship's side. "I could use some help instead of tears though!" He told the bros.

"Yes! But how?" Mario asked just as the ship rumbled again. "OH, COME ON!!" He yelled, angry, as the ship started moving horizontally.

"Hey the ship's not rotating!" Luigi said as he and Mario were pushed back down the road due to the ship's movement. "Ouch!"

"But it is going somewhere! What do we do?!" Mario said as he dodged several flying parts of the ship bouncing around.

"But, Yoshi's out there! We can't leave him!" Luigi reminded Mario and pointed back to the hole, where they were quite far from.

"You're right!" Mario exclaimed, and looked around. "There must be something we can use to go to him!" Mario thought out loud.

"Or... We can make him go towards us..." Luigi suggested, not fully aware.

"That's a great idea! You're a genius!" Mario replied happily, and hugged his brother.

"I am?" Luigi simply replied, a bit confused.

"Indeed! All we need is one of those gravity shifting walls! Do you have your suitcase with you?" Mario asked.

"Yeah... Here." Luigi nodded and took out his suitcase, and opened it.

Mario inmediately started rummaging around it. He ocassionally muttered things such as "We'll need this" and "Great!", and sometimes, "What is this doing here?", the last of which made Luigi blush a little.

Shortly after, Mario had taken out a toolbox, an ordinary hammer, and several Bob-Ombs.

"One. Since when did I have all that? Two. What are you gonna do?" Luigi asked.

"One. I dunno. Two. Simple. We'll bring the walls towards Yoshi so he can come up here, or we can go over to him! Versatile, isn't it?" Mario determinedly answered.

"But how exactly?" Luigi asked yet again.

"You'll see!" Mario answered as he handed Luigi the toolbox and grabbed the hammer and Bob-Ombs. "Now, let's a go!" He said as he ran towards the infamous hole. Luigi simply looked at the toolbox, closed his suitcase, and took it with him, following Mario.

Meanwhile, Yoshi held on to the rope, looking down, fearful.

"Guys... Don't leave me hanging here... I'm starting to get scared..." He said to particularly nothing, expecting an answer.

"Don't worry Yosh! We're gonna bring you up here swiftly!" Mario called out to Yoshi as he looked at the wall. "Let's get going Luigi!" He told to his brother, and started preparing the Bob-Ombs.

What is Mario going to do to save Yoshi?! Find out the crazy plan first thing next chapter! ;D
I hope you enjoyed the chap! This is where my galaxy and world ideas start to kick in! :P
Aside the Mushroom Kingdom, there are three more places from the Galaxy games that make an appearance in this story. Otherwise all galaxies you'll see are my own original ideas, and from friends too, so I hope you like them as they play out!
I'm also sorry for not updating last week, since I was busy with YouTube, and then I got sick during the rest of the week. At least it's here now! I also apologize if the chapter seems a bit rushed, due to my rocky week.
Voting and/or commenting is highly appreciated! I thank you in advance for your support. :)
See ya next chapter!
