everyone in hawkins would say , and angie
would prefer it as such . he's sassy , he's
mean , and he's nasty toward people . he
is known for his comebacks and his insults .
that's what most people remember him for .
though , people don't know that this is his
way of keeping his guard up . he doesn't
trust very many people , which results him
in being so mean toward people . he's not
afraid to call you out on your behavior and
curse you in italian while he's at it . he's an
asshole , no doubt . but there is so much
more than that cold-hearted facade he
holds up .

── angelo is very in tune with his emotions
in private . who he is around friends ,
family , and when he's alone is totally
different from when he's at school or at
work , or any other place that isn't home .
no one truly knows this , but angie is quite
the sensitive soul . he's been through a lot ,
and his heart weighs heavy . he can be
sweet when he wants to , but he will not
let anyone take advantage of him , not
again . angelo can be very sensitive and
kind . but only if you are kind back to him .

BACKSTORY

── ANGELO ANTONIO ROSSI JR. IS THE
FIRST of twins. born three minutes before
his sister, he was placed into a somewhat
normal family. mother, father, sister, and
then another sister four years later . they
seemed to be just like any other italian
family , but they weren't . their parents
are part of a mafia . alessandra , shortly
after birthing the twins , left the mafia .
his father angelo sr. , however , continued
to be in that mafia in which he was the
current leader of . but pretty much their
life has been pretty normal , and both
parents raised their children as such .

── FROM A YOUNG AGE, ANGIE KNEW
WHO he was . would people in italy be
accepting of the fact? no , they would not .
by the time he was twelve he knew for sure
that he was gay . though , he pretty much
waited a year until he told his dad . to his
surprise , he was very accepting about it ,
and even told him that he was bisexual , so
he wasn't alone . alessandra also accepted
him . that weight was definitely lifted off
his shoulders . especially since he could now
tell them that he had a crush . his best
friend . a boy named raphael auclair .
french native , had moved to italy when
he was young . they had been best friends
since the fifth grade . his parents told him
to be careful , but to give it a shot . he did .
by the age of fourteen , the two of them
had started to date .

WAS NICE . RAPHAEL pulled angie in with
romantic gestures , though secret , so they
wouldn't get caught by others . angie was
happy for a while . up until the eight months
mark when they had gotten into some
argument . angie doesn't remember what ,
but what he did remember was the first
slap in the face . raphael apologized for
it severely . said that he would never hurt
angelo ever again . angie accepted that
apology . but he fell for the lie . raphael
would start to get more aggressive toward
him . first it was just the slaps in the face .
then it resorted to punches . and angie
continued to keep it a secret .

── UNTIL THE BRUISES STARTED TO SHOW.
it was getting harder and harder to hide
with just his mother's makeup . it had
started to affect his mental health , too .
the night terrors started . continuous
screaming through the night , he even
started sleep-walking . there were
attempts from his parents to get through
to him . nothing . angie wouldn't say a word
about raphael , and even then raphael
would beat him just off of the belief that he
told someone about this . that was the night
that raphael found some gun, threatened
to shoot angie's brains out with it . it wasn't
until that night , he finally spit it out to his
father . and angelo sr. had already started
digging . he found out the boy was the
son of an opposing mafia member .

── ANGIE BEGGED HIS FATHER NOT TO
CONFRONT him , but he didn't listen . all
he cared about was his son and him being
safe . all he saw was red . but that
confrontation with the boy's father would
end so poorly . the boy's father ? ends up
shooting angelo sr. with the same gun
that raphael threatened him with .
alessandra witnessed the whole thing ,
trying to help him . unfortunately , there
was nothing to be done . on july fourteenth ,
nineteen eighty-two , angelo rossi, sr.
passed away . angie was an absolute
wreck , and so were his mother and two
sisters . by august of the same year , the
rossis officially packed their things and
moved to hawkins . angie was finally free
if that horrible relationship , but was horribly
scarred .
