It was an ordinary day. I was taking a walk, when I heard a small sound coming from under the hedge. I was quite surprised, but when I heard it again I investigated.

Moving some of the leaves apart, I saw three kittens snuggled together for warmth, occasionally meowing. They looked dirty and really thin, so they could have been abandoned. My heart melted at the thought of leaving them alone, so I gently lifted them into the pocket of my coat and took them home.

After some food and water, they seemed so much healthier, and I kept them.
