[8] Reflection
The bell rang at exactly 3:20pm. Violet quickly shoved her things in her backpack, wanting to leave the theater where she had musical theater 1.
She made her way out the doors and instead of going to the bus loop, headed straight to the library.
Once inside she saw that the librarian, once again, wasn't at the desk.
Whatever, I'm just gonna leave it... Violet opened her backpack to take the book out and placed it on the desk.
"Can I help you with something, Dear?" An old voice croaked.
Violet looked up to see an elderly Goomba smiling at her.
"Oh um, I just came to drop off this book..." Her gaze went back to the black book.
"Oh, that old thing? Thank goodness you found it. I don't want it out and about. I've been meaning to trash it but I somehow end up losing it..." He mumbled.
Violet bit her lip. She was eager to know some information about the book... just in case.
"Say, the dark magic that it supposedly contains... is it real?" She asked quietly.
The Goomba froze. "You... read it?"
"I... uh... is it bad to read it?"
"Did you read it?" The Goomba's voice was harsh now.
"I—"
"DID YOU?" He screeched, giving her the creeps.
"I... gotta go!" Violet ran out.

"What took you so long? We almost missed the bus because we waited for you!" Daisy said as Violet approached them.
"Sorry girls. I was... taking some last-minute notes." Violet shrugged and hopped onto the bus.
Once sitting down, she plugged in her earbuds and put on some music to calm her. She wasn't planning on going to the school library for a looong time.
Rosalina rose a brow and tapped her shoulder.
"Yeah?" She took off one earbud.
"Well? How was your first day?" The galactic princess asked.
"Oh! Um, it was okay..." Vio shrugged and was about to place the bud back in.
"Did something happen?"
Violet shook her head almost too instantly. Rosalina wasn't dumb, she knew the Italian well enough.
"Violet, what happened? You know you can talk to me."
"It's something personal...okay?" She said as nicely as she could.
Rosalina sighed softly. "I saw that book in your backpack..."
Violet groaned. Of course you did. "Do you know about it?"
"'Course I do. I don't know why a school would have that book." Rosalina rolled her eyes. "Whoever reads it can get into serious trouble if they don't deal with magic."
Cripes, I'm done for. Violet thought.
"Girls! I have a wonderful idea. Let's go to the mall to celebrate Violet's first day of freshman year!" Peach said.
"Sounds like a great idea," Commented Rosie as she kept an eye on Violet.
Violet and Daisy simply nodded.
"And also to calm me down from first period..." Peach mumbled, for she was still upset.
"Yeah, okay..." Daisy said.

"Alright, let's go to Forever 21 first," Peach directed.
"Oh I love that store!" Rosalina exclaimed.
The princesses walked ahead as Violet slightly trailed behind. She was still listening to music because now she was more concerned than ever.
It's just my imagination, right? Violet looked at her reflection on a window.
For split second she saw something other than herself. All she could tell was that it had purple eyes...
"Violet, you like that outfit?" Peach asked.
"Hm?! O-oh, uh... yeah. I guess?"
The princesses stared at her for a moment. "Okay!" Peach went inside to get it.
Rosalina went to the girl's side. "What are you seeing?"
"Something other than me..." She muttered. "Like, another person."
"Dang it, Vi... Why'd you read it?" Rosalina asked.
"Is there a way to make it go away?"
"That's the thing, I don't think so... I could ask my Magic teacher if you want."
"Please."
Violet looked back at the window and saw it again. But longer this time. A shiver went down her spine.
She didn't like this one bit.
A/N: Honestly I rushed this chapter because I'm forcing myself to NOT delete this book like I've done millions of times BEFORE. So, forgive me. I know I can write better than this.
