After School Throw Down

The day was finally near it's end. It was now the last hour of school and Ted couldn't be happier. History turned out to be a really relaxed class which often gave him time to catch up on any extra class work or just to think. Every once and awhile Jim or Oscar would pop in since they had the last hour free every other day. Today he was on his own and simply enjoyed the silence while everyone worked or talked as the teacher graded papers in the back of the class. He was confused about Redmond's ambush on the rooftop since it was his sister who approached him and not the other way around.

His thoughts were interrupted by the door opening and two people walking in. Eve and someone else he didn't know. She was another girl in their grade and he had seen her around helping the Student Council here and there. She was a blonde haired girl who always wore her hair in a braid. The two were walking towards the back when Eve noticed him and gave a playful wink. Ted gave a small wave, unaware that everyone was now looking at the two of them, and went back to his English homework. In the back corner of the class, a boy his age glared at him. He slid his phone out of his pocket and sent a text before turning his attention to the two girls. Ted tried to read his book but soon realized that the girl in front of him was staring. He looked up but the girl quickly looked away.

"Did you need something?" Ted asked. The girl shook her head and continued her work. Ted rolled his eyes and looked over his shoulder to see the two girls talking to his teacher. They finished up their conversation and turned to leave but Eve stopped and walked over to Ted. She leaned over the desk causing Ted to look up. She held her head up with her arm and gave him a cute smile. "We should go to that cafe after school. I want to try their cakes. Olivia made them sound so good." She suggested. Ted gave it some thought before realizing how boring his life was. "Sure. My treat." He said looking back down to his book. Eve pouted. "No. I can pay for myself."

The two went back and forth about who was paying before the other girl cleared her throat to get Eve's attention. Eve silently apologized. She ended up leaving with Ted having the final say, with a shit eating grin, before he went back to his book. The boy in the back bit down on his lip. "That asshole is going to get it." He hissed. He reached back into his pocket with a wicked grin.

--------

Ted stood near the front gate as he looked down at his phone. Eve had sent him a text that she would have to run by the office for a quick minute so he opted to wait for her after saying goodbye to his siblings. He noticed Pip and Jim walking his way while talking about something They spotted him and Pip gave a dramatic wave with a wide smile. Ted waved back and stood up straight. "Hey guys." Ted greeted. Jim nodded and leaned against the wall as he pulled out a cigarette. He lit it and looked back to say something when four boys caught his eye.

"Heads up. The Rowdy Brothers are heading this way." He warned. Ted and Pip looked to see who he was talking about. Four boys, all different sizes, were walking towards them with murderous intent. The first boy was wearing a pair of red glasses and was the shortest of the four. The second one had his hair slicked back and seemed to be the strongest. The third, probably the leader, had a hat on. Ted reconfigured him from his class. The last was actually quite tall.

"Who the hell are the Rowdy Brothers?" Ted asked. Pip slid his hand into his bag and seemed to grab something. Jim didn't answer and instead pulled Ted away. "They're with the Demons. We need to get away from the school. The SDC are everywhere." He explained. Ted and Pip decided to follow and rushed off down the street. The brothers all noticed and gave chase. Across the courtyard Ned watched with some interest. He decided to follow along as well. The trio ran with Jim leading. Ted watched as Jim pulled out the knuckles and Pip pulled out the start of a handle. Ted sighed as he quickly pulled on the gloves. Looks like there's gonna be a fight.

They finally ended in a lot behind some buildings where they took their stances. Ted looked over to see Pip now holding a, wait. Isn't that Hammer Fatty's hammer? Ted had locked it in his closest how did he...you know what? Whatever. Why question it? Soon the four brothers rounded the corner and the leader stepped forward. "Well, you done running?" He asked. Ted reached into his pocket and pulled out two Boom Booms. "Just trying to find a better battleground. Drake send you?" He questioned. The brother pulled out their own weapons. Glasses pulled out a large chain, buff guy pulled out a pair of boxing gloves, the tall one pulled out a bat, and the leader pulled out a baton. Looks like everyone in school was packing.

"This doesn't involve you two. Just the twerp." The leader warned. Pip and Jim stepped forward. "Mess with one of us, mess with all of us." Jim warned. The leader rolled his eyes. "Well, he did start this. First he tries to get close to Olivia Scaleless and now he's dating Eve Baldwin. Someone needs to put him in his place." He explained hitting the stick in his hand. Jim and Pip looked to their friend with a glare. Ted put his hands up defensibly. "I'm not dating anyone!" He swore. The leader cleared his throat. "Enough talking. It's time to fight!"

The tall one rushed forward but Pip stepped up and swung the hammer with ease which connected with the boy's bat. Buff guy seemed unaffected and simply swung again. Pip went flying and the boy followed, intending to finish the job. Jim dashed forward and began to trade blows with Beef Cakes which was a sight to see. They were moving so fast and with such power, it was as if the titans themselves were fighting. Ted turned back to the other two and placed one boom in each hand.

'Pip has the strength and skill to handle Batboy while Jim is strong but fast. Chain seems like he's all brawn and no brain but Glasses is hard to get a read on. His weapon is small so maybe agility. Regardless, I have to stay alert.' Ted thought to himself. Both brothers split up and took both sides. Ted had to react fast and threw the booms towards them. He used the distraction to jump back and pull out two more booms. Before he had time to plan his next move, the two brothers were already attacking. Ted ducked down as the chain flew over his head. The chain wrapped around the baton and the two brothers slammed the chain down onto Ted's back. The ebony haired boy recovered quickly but was only met with a sharp pain on his side. Glasses retracted the baton and brought it down again but Ted grabbed it and delivered an uppercut to the boy causing a small explosion.

Chain came back and swung the chain at his leg causing Ted to drop to one knee. Meanwhile, Pip and Batboy continued their battle. The sounds of metal echoed against the walls of the buildings surrounding them. Pip swung the hammer up but the bat met it with great strength, pushing it back down and giving Batboy an opening. He took it and swung the bat which connected with the poor blonde's shoulder. This didn't bother him however. Pip brought the hammer up and slammed it against the bat wielder's thigh gaining a scream. Pip swung the hammer once again but Batboy jumped back and lifted the bat to bring it down upon Pip's head. Pip leaned to the left and felt the cold metal gaze his arm. They returned to blocking each other's blows when Pip caught a glimpse of someone running towards them.

Jim and Beef Cakes continued to fight. Jim was now bleeding from his nose and bruises were showing on both bodies. Jim looked over to quickly check on his friends when he saw a man bun. Ned leaped up and delivered a kick to Chain. His foot collided with the boy's head and he used the force to slam him down face first into the gravel. Ted looked up in surprised but was forced to return his attention to Glasses who was back on his assault. He throw a boom at the boy and leaped back as the explosion blocked his opponent's view. Ned stood his ground as he and Ted stood back to back. Chain recovered as did Glasses and they began to circle the two boys.

"You ever been in a fight before?" Ted asked. Ned nodded as he began to change his stance. Ted instantly recognized it. 'Western Boxing?' Ted wondered. The two brother attacked at the same time but both Ted and Ned pushed off each other and switched opponents which seemed to catch the brother's off guard. The fight quickly came to a stop before anyone could land a hit by the sounds of the police sirens rushing towards them. Glasses snapped his fingers and the brother quickly retreated. The four friends regrouped and looked at the fleeing brothers. "This isn't over yet Yelawolf!" Glasses yelled before joining his brothers.

"That's our cue to go." Jim decided. The boys rushed off as the police arrived.

---------

Jim hissed in pain as Ned dabbed his wounds with the cotton ball covered in alcohol. Ted gently touched the bandage wrapped around his ribs while Pip looked a little down as he sat there shirtless with his shoulder bandaged up as well. The four boys were currently hiding out at the local park where Ned was patching them up with the first aid kit he carried around. He hadn't gotten any injuries so he was able to fix them up without much trouble save for a complaint or two. Both Ted and Pip were shirtless while Jim had only his blazer off. The boys sat in silence as the sun began to set behind the hills.

"So you're not dating Baldwin?"Jim asked. Ted shook his head. He didn't understand anything. Why would the Demons care about Eve or Olivia. Especially Olivia. He felt his phone go off and decided against looking at it. His body hurt and he was tired. At least his hands weren't injured thanks to the new gloves. Jim pulled out a cigarette and let out a long sigh. "This sucks." He mumbled as he took a hit. Pip nodded as he kept his eyes down towards the floor. They had explained everything to Ned while he was working and he seemed to understand the gist of it. "Is Steph and Lilith involved in this as well?" He asked. Pip shook his head. "No. They are not fighters but they do indeed know about this." He explained. His voice was deprived of any excitement or joy. "How are you used to this?" He asked Ted.

Ted shrugged and felt his phone go off once again. He finally pulled it out and looked at it. 6 new messages from.....Eve.

"Shit." He remembered. He got up slowly and pulled on his shirt before grabbing his blazer. He gave a wave as he walked away. "I gotta go. See you guys tomorrow." He said.

--------

Eve looked at her phone and read over the text just as Ted walked into the cafe. She was going to lecture him before she saw him. She shot up from her seat catching everyone's attention She rushed over to him and immediately began to check him over. "What happened?! Was it another attack?" She asked worriedly. Ted noticed the audience they had gathered and blushed. "Can we take this somewhere else?" He asked. Eve noticed everyone looking as well and nodded. Ted took her hand and led her out of the cafe. "We'll come here another time." He promised. The two ended up outside on the sidewalk before stopping.

"What happened? The Demons?" She asked more calmly. Ted nodded. She seem to think about something. They couldn't talk about this in public. They were practically sitting ducks. She had an idea. "I know where we can talk." She said grabbing his hand and leading him away. "Where?"

"My house."
