Chapter 4

As Juvia walked away, she was curious.

Confused as to what he meant, why he didn't want to hang out with her longer. Going too fast? What did he mean?

It's not like she wanted to date him. So, then, why did the man with raven hair push her aside?

Did he not like her? She hadn't really listened to the last thing Rogue had said, did not hear him proclaim that it was love at first sight, and the only reason why she would be pushed away is that if he didn't like her.

But, it's obvious he did.

Somehow, Juvia felt better.

She didn't know why, but after meeting with that mysterious man- Rogue, her spirits were lifted. So, happily, she returned to the guild, trying to push aside the thought of a second rejection,  humming along the way.

"I can't wait to see Gajeel-kun, Levy-chan, Natsu-san, Lov-," She stopped herself. Lucy wasn't her love rival anymore. Lucy loved Natsu, and Juvia was not in love with the ice mage. "Lucy-san, Mira-san, Lissanna-chan...." The list went on and on, but there was one name she didn't say. And the name of that person was Gray Fullbuster.

Even though she was excited to reunite with her guild and she knew her guild would be happy to see her, as she saw the guild getting closer, she was getting nervous.

This was the guild, where everyone saw her get rejected. The guild, where she fawned over Gray. She didn't know what to feel. How to act. Should she look heartbroken? Tough? Mad? Angry? Or should she just be herself? She seriously considered ignoring all of Gray's friends, but then she thought that was stupid. Gray's friends are also her's, and she shouldn't give them to him. Instead, she could hate on Gray with them! She tried thinking of these things, but still, the thought of seeing Gray killed her inside.

This is the man that shattered her heart.

She mustered up her strength, and entered the guild hall. She had to look happy, and act as if nothing happened. That's the easiest solution.

When she entered, the guild froze. Almost as if under Gray's magic. Nobody expected the bluenette to come back so fast, and some thought she wouldn't come back at all.

"Juvia...." Gray started. He wanted to apologize for his mistakes, and ask the bluenette if they could possibly be friends, although he knew it was all for naught. After all, why would someone come back to you when you told them you hate them even being around you?

"Welcome back!!" Cana interrupted Gray and broke the silence. She welcomed Juvia with open arms and a drunk smile. Everyone followed Cana, and welcomed her with similar smiles, just nobody looked as drunk as Cana did.

Everyone chatted, drank, and had fun, acting as if nothing ever happened. Gray, on the other hand, kept fighting Natsu, getting yelled at Erza, and looking at Juvia. He would look at her joking with the other girls, and there was only one thing he noticed.

Her smile was fake.

He couldn't believe he hurt her this badly, and came up with an excuse to leave the guild earlier than usual, however, everyone knew. Everyone knew Gray left because he didn't want to see Juvia. Not after what he did to her. A couple of minutes after Gray's departure, Juvia left, which sparked questions.

Almost as if reading everyone's mind, Juvia deadpanned, "I'm not going to stalk Gray anymore. Those days are over. I just want to go home and relax... I haven't done that in a while."

"...Oh." Her other guildmates sighed, and one asked a question.

"What do you mean you haven't done that in a while?" Mira asked.

Juvia sighed and started talking, loud enough for her friends to hear. "When I was in...." She hesitated, "love...." That word didn't even sound right anymore. "with Gray, every night I would stay up late, or go to bed extremely early, thinking of him. How to make him happy, surprised. How not to hurt him, and how I should celebrate our anniversaries. Of course, Gray didn't even notice me after that. So, what did I do? Spent my time relaxing thinking of him. Now that I have no one on my mind", which was a lie, she was thinking about the mysterious man Rogue, "I can think about myself, and just... relax. Without a man on my mind."

Mira looked shocked. "Go along, then, enjoy your day of relaxation." After they talked about what Juvia had said, they continued on with their night.

The following day was different, however. Right when Juvia got to her dorm in Fairy Hills, the door slammed behind her and she was welcomed by seven or so girls.

"SURPRISE!" The girls, Erza, Lucy, Cana, Wendy, Lissanna, Mirajane, Evergreen, Levy and more screamed. "Hi Juvia!"

"H-Hi," Juvia stammered, startled. How were they here before her when she didn't even see the bunch leave? And, moreover, how did they get the key to her room?

"Hi! Now, let's get down and dirty."

"Down and dirty?" Juvia raised an eyebrow.

"Down and dirty into what happened after you left." Erza sighed. "Such an innapropriate mind."

"Tell us the dets!" Lucy squealed.

"You too?"

"Yeah! Lu-chan and I, and probably the others too, wanna know!'

"Nothing much."

"Juvia, that's such a lie! The man you loved rejected you, and any chance of a relationship. How could you do nothing?" Erza pointed out aggressively.

"Yeah! Did you go crazy after the rejection? Did you get a tramp stamp? Did you have a one night stand?" Evergreen questioned.

"Like I said, nothing happened."

"Mhm..." Mira smirked, "Where'd you go, then?"

"Yeah, me and Mira-nii know you left Magnolia soon after that! We checked the security lacrima to find you and talk to you, but then we saw you running away swiftly in one of the cameras, crying."

"Doesnt everyone cry when their hearts are broken?" She deadpanned.

"Yep! But~~ You ran away! You went somewhere!!"

"I took the train that left in the shortest amount of time, so I didn't have to wait. I didn't want to make Magnolia rain, so I went away. I don't know where I ended up, honestly." Juvia spoke in a first person, monotone voice that was heartbreaking. They had already heard it before, but, they could never get used to it. The girls listened, but looked at her with huge, sympathetic eyes. "I had some Dippin  Dots, and thought for a while, then decided to come back here because I was feeling better."

"Well, as long as your better!" Lucy faked a smile.

"You weren't here. So, did you hear?"

"Hear what?"

"We are participating in the Grand Magic Games!" Erza explained the games to her, the practices, and more. Juvia listened, but couldn't help but wonder if Sabertooth was going to be there.

The guild Rogue was in.

They partied for a while- got drunk out of their minds, and woke up the next day with hangovers.

Juvia got up, and sighed, as she sloppily went to the kitchen, and tripped over the blue solo cups scattered along the floor.

"Lu-chyan!" A still drunk Levy hummed.

"Ugh." Lucy muttered. Juvia continued to trip, sifting through pots and pans to make muffins, although she knew something was destined to go wrong.

"Erzaah!" Levy continued to sexually harass all the girls there, as if she was having the time of her life.

"Levy! How aren't you hung over?"

"Whatcha mean~~?"

"We took shots of straight fireball last night." Evergreen complained.

"Yeah! But that's no biggie when you're having fun! Hangovers don't exist!"

"Whaddya mean hangovers don't exist?" Mira sighed, struggling from a hellish one herself.

"Well! Not for me anyways~!"

"Explain." Lissanna was dying to know her secret, and so was everyone else who was there.

"Yeah! When I get so drunk I pass out, I'm just more drunk the next day!"

"What?!" Cana clearly expressed her jealousy.

"Yep! Gajeel says I'm worse the next day, but I dont believe him!" She pouted, while getting up close and personal to the ladies. "He says this just because he has horrible hangovers himself! Hmmph!" This made all the girls laugh, even Juvia who was attempting to create blueberry muffins. The girls then ate the muffins which were surprisingly delicious, although they threw up alcohol residue a few times.

"I'm so happy I didn't leave Fairy Tail.", Juvia commented mid-muffin.

"We are too, Juvs!" The girls pitched in. After breakfast, they realized that they had to get to the guild hall. So, another hour of them tripping, puking, sighing, crying and more passed as they tried to scamper to the guild hall. When it was so close they could see it, Levy ran and opened the doors.

"HEY Y'ALL!" Levy sang. Levy was never this loud- this demanding, so everyone in the guild hall listened.

"Oh shit." Gajeel muttered under his breath. He knew she was hungover.

"I'M M.C. GARDEN AND I WANT TO SHOW YOU-" She pointed to herself, "SOME SICK BEATS!" Gajeel facepalmed as he took a video lacrima out to record this memorable event.

"All the time
these guys try to get in my rhyme.
But, baby, they don't know what it is.
I'm like 1, 2, 3, this is none of your buis." She rapped and rapped, until she was interrupted by the other women, Juvia had been leading them. Apparently, Juvia had taken B-12 drops and felt thousands of times better.

"GIRLS! Let's get in formation! GIRLS!" The only way Juvia could drag the women to the guild was by singing Beyonce songs. But hey, everyone loves Queen Bey.

When all of them entered the guild, they ran to their partners-to-be or their usual spots, and complained  about how all the liquor in Juvia's house is too strong, or annoyingly told the boys how Juvia only has blue solo cups.

Juvia faked a smile as she looked across the room, at all the obvious pairings and sighed. If Gray hadn't been mean to her and she still liked him, she would have someone to talk to right now.

But other than him, she doesn't.

And, she never will.
