"Human Max, I am confused!"

Max looks up into the face of a beautiful girl, with short black hair and pretty blue eyes. If it wasn't for the red tentacles coming out if her back and forming a giant gloom monster with a thousand eyes, Max might have believed she's human.

She's not, by the way.

"What can I do for you Shfixi?" He asked, putting his fork down.

"Well," Shfixi said, stretching it's mouth further than any human ever could. "I recently got recommended some magazines by human Josh, and have taken to reading them in my free time."

Max nods, but inside he'd cursing Josh. Last time he introduced something to the aliens, it was a computer mouse, and Max had to spend hours explaining to them that yes, it's called a mouse, and no, it's not related to any species of field mouse.

He hopes it won't be another one of those cases.

"And so, I've started reading one called "Plants and House, and something in there confused me. What is a kitchen?"

Max hummed, and took another bite of food. "Kitchen is where most humans make our food. It's a room with cupboards to store all the tools and ingredients needed to prepare food."

"Ooooh," Shfixi said. "Thank you human Max, you're help is appreciated!" and then it squelched off down the corridors.

Max gave a shrug, and continued to eat.

"Human Max, human Max, help!"

Max shot up from his chair and hurried over to Shfixi where it was laying on the other side of the room.

"What happened, are you alright?" Max asked, scared to touch it in fear of making its pain worse, but wanting to help non the less.

"My human scull, it's leaking!"

Max froze.

"Say what now?"

Max knew that Shfixi was technically "wearing", as most people say, a dead human skeleton, and has just decorated it with its color changing slime. As a Mimicrest, Shfixi can copy any element of humans, even if it doesn't know what said element does.

"I'm leaking, human Max! This vessel's never done it before! Is it broken?"

Giving a sigh, Max struggled not to laugh.

"What happened before it started to leak Shfixi?"

"Well, human Josh allowed me to experience some of his vibrations from the small pods, and it felt like it moved my humans heart. It made me start leaking, and I didn't know how to stop! Do I have to go to the human repair shop?"

Max chuckled, and patted Shfixi on the head. "No Shfixi, you're fine. You just listened to some sad music and it made you feel sad. Humans cry when they feel sad."

A sniff. "So I'm not broken?"

"No, Shfixi, you're not broken."

"... thank you human Max."

Max smiled softly. "Any time."

Max was busy fixing his tie, when Josh burst into the room.

"Hey Max, Britney is saying something, but I don't believe her, but I decided to ask you and..." Then he saw what Max was wearing.

Josh's jaw hit the floor.

"You're going on a date?!"

Max rolled his eyes. "As hard as that is to believe, yes, I'm going on a date."

Giving a wolf whistle, Josh winked. "So you're finally taking Lucy out, huh?"

Max felt his ears heat. "Yes I am, what about it?"

"Nothing, nothing," Josh grinned. "You two have just been tiptoeing around each other and I though you'd never acknowledge it."

Rolling his eyes again, Max didn't get the chance to respond before there was a knock on the door.

"Human Max, it's Shfixi!"

"Come in," Max called back, putting on his jacket as the alien opened the door.

"What are you doing, human Max?" It asked, blinking all of its eyes at once.

"I'm going on a date," Max answered, grabbing his phone and keys. "I'm sorry I can't chat right now, Shfixi, but I'm sure Josh would love to spend time with you."

And then he was out the door.

Silence.

"What's a date, human Josh?"
