across the room

I saw you

in navy blue

and you looked

into my eyes

flashing a smile

we met on

the dance floor

surrounded by rhythms

that soon became

all background noise

to our chatter

we lost track

of passing time

until last call

we exchanged goodbyes

as my friends

pulled me away

and you disappeared

into the crowd

like a dream
