"Runt."

"Worthless."

"You should've been an omega, you'd be much more useful."

The constant words of torment and pain targeted him since he came out as an alpha. He was tinier than the others and was often left behind on hunting trips when they were training. No one wanted to be his friend, they all thought he was too weak.

The older he got, and the more he acted different, the more even adults didn't want anything to do with him. His mother was the only one who sympathized with him. He was caring and kind like her, and even submitted to some alphas. Alphas never submitted, Seonghwa submitting to easily made the head alpha think of him as a disgrace.

He along with other alphas had tried to torment and pick on Seonghwa so much that he willingly left. Seonghwa would grit his teeth and bare the harsh words that were thrown his way. No one knew him, yet everyone acted as if he was a horrible creature.

What was so horrible about a misplaced alpha?

He begged the moon goddess every night to make him an omega instead so he wouldn't be bullied anymore, and often asked if there was a potion to change statuses. He hated being an alpha, he hated it with a passion.

One day, he was walking home from hunting when his father and the head alpha stepped outside on the porch, crossing their arms over their chests and staring him down. Seonghwa stopped and dropped the quails he killed in the field, "Is everything alright?"

They were silent for a moment before his father clears his throat, "Seonghwa, there's been an accident-"

Seonghwa's heart races as his father goes to tell his son that his mother had a heart attack in her sleep while he was hunting. He shook his head, not believing his father as he tried to move past them to go see her and his father steps in the way, a scowl on his face. Seonghwa frowns, "Why can't I see her?"

"Because I want you out of here," the head alpha growls, his eye flash red in warning, "An alpha like you doesn't belong here. You don't belong anywhere."

"My mother died. She's not even cold yet, and you're kicking me out? I knew you all didn't like me, so the whole reason for me being allowed to stay was because of her? Am I really that shameful to you all?" Seonghwa scoffs as he grips the quails tighter in his hand, blood pooling in between his fingers.

"You've brought nothing but shame into this pack since the day you came out as a worthless, pathetic alpha," his father snarls, "You don't act nor look like one and your mother was the only person in this pack who wanted you alive. And now that she's gone, we want you gone."

Seonghwa couldn't believe his ears as he stares at his father, his eyes narrow and before he can say anything he heard growls from all around. He looks, seeing all kinds of alphas surrounding him and he freezes.

"Leave. Or we will make you," the head alpha snarls, his pheromones over power Seonghwa's and almost makes him drop to his knees.

Seonghwa didn't even get a chance to respond before one of the alphas snapped at his heels and made him snarl. Another grabs him when he turned to face the alpha and grabs him by his shirt, dragging him to the ground and back away from the house.

He was dragged to the pack border, blood still covered his hands from the quails, but those were ripped out of his hands from another alpha that wasn't dragging him away from his home. The head alpha stops at the border of their territory and snorts, "Leave. And don't ever come back."

And Seonghwa never did. He roamed along the forests for months trying to survive on his own from hunters and other things in the wild. One day, he was hunting for a decent meal, when something caught his attention. It was a snap of a twig to his right, and he growls lowly as he listens for more.

It sounded heavy whatever it was. But wait, it smelt like an...

Omega.

Wooyoung sighed as he glanced at himself in the mirror while running his hands over the sides of his blonde hair to slick it back. One stubborn chunk fell loose to hang in front of his left eye, but he just hummed and nodded his head. It actually added to the look.

And he hoped it did.

His father was due in here any second and if he didn't pass inspection, he was likely to be punished by being locked in the tiny stone cell hidden beneath his room.

It was his father's favorite way to let Wooyoung know he was in charge. And it terrified him.

As an omega, Wooyoung had always been bottom of the food-chain in the pack, even though his father was the head alpha. He had been trained from a young age to serve an alpha. He knew how to cook, clean, heal, and assist in hunting.

He would be the 'perfect' mate. That was his duty as an omega and heir to the pack.

At least his father gave him that much and still considered him his heir.

Although Wooyoung didn't know how much of a blessing it really was. He was going to meet his intended mate soon. A powerful alpha from a neighboring pack by the name of Rex.

Wooyoung scoffed as he thought about it. Who names their kid something as dumb as Rex? They probably intended him to be some 'all mighty alpha' that would 'rule over everyone'. Which it sounded like what this union was intended for.

And as much as he didn't like it, Wooyoung would follow orders. If he did then nothing bad would happen to him.

The door opened and his father walked in, his eyes traveling up and down his son's body as he took in the nice suit he wore and his slicked back hair. Surprisingly, he nodded in approval, then turned and stepped aside. "Son, I'd like you to meet your fiancé."

Wooyoung's breath hitched as the alpha stalked into the room. We was even taller than his father, standing a good head and a half taller than Wooyoung himself, and the muscles on his arms were almost the size of the omega's head.

He'd be lying if he said that Rex wasn't handsome. He was incredibly attractive with his chiseled face and slight stubble that covered his upper lip, chin, and part of his neck.

But for as handsome as he was, he was twice as intimidating as he looked down at Wooyoung.

The omega's eyes dropped to the floor immediately, both out of instinct and out of respect.

"So, you're Wooyoung?" His deep voice said with a hint of amusement.

"Yes, Sir." Wooyoung answered, just as his father had told him to.

A hand came up to cup Wooyoung's chin, raising his head up to look at the alpha.

Red eyes replaced the blue-grey ones that were Rex's natural color, making Wooyoung's wolf shrink back in submission and his body started to tremble.

"You'll do."

The ceremony was planned for a month out. That would give Wooyoung and Rex time to mingle and get to know the two packs.

It didn't seem like it would be all bad. Rex had sworn to protect him as long as Wooyoung did as he was told and gave him pups.

That was as much as any omega could ask for. An alpha to protect them.

A week before the ceremony, Wooyoung found himself wandering the woods, wanting to get out of the house and enjoy some fresh air.

Rex was with his father, checking on this here before he went back to his pack to prepare for Wooyoung's arrival. The ceremony would be there and that would be their main home, although there was one here for them too since they would eventually lead both packs once both head alphas passed on the mantle.

He huffed as he trotted forward, doing his best to avoid any muddy patches in the ground so he could keep his paws clean.

One of Rex's rules. No dirt.

He was just about to head home when he sensed another wolf nearby. It was unfamiliar to him and a bit confusing. He could tell it was an alpha, but something seemed off, like it was weak or something.

His curiosity got the better of him and Wooyoung changed direction. Part of him was worried that maybe the alpha was wounded and needed help.

Then he heard a low growl and paused.

Wooyoung lowered his head in submission, which confirmed to him that it was an alpha.

The grey and white wolf appeared around the corner, his red eyes locked onto Wooyoung as his lips curled in a snarl.

Wooyoung whimpered and lowered himself to the forest floor.

He was going to be in so much trouble...
