chapter 3

A/N: Hey is anyone of my readers/followers a fellow Potterhead? If so did you guys find the Cursed Child confusing? I started it today,  September 3rd, and totally lost in the story line. And i am almost finished with act 3. Can anyone help clear the storyline to me.

Disclaimer: Me no owns Naruto or Naruto Shippuden. All rights goes to Masashi Kishimoto Senpai. I also didn't write the first 8 chapters of this. Give thanks to Deathbyshykid to letting me give their fanfic a loving home.

Narumi stood in the greyish-white room with a curious eye. A week had passed by after the Mya Nye incident and the Jūbi had become very silent. The blonde felt a pang in her heart every time she had called out to her friend only to get nothing out of the beast. Though, now she stood in the wasteland of her mind, a growl echoing off of the walls. “Jūbi-san?” Narumi called out. A piercing scream made the girl cover her ears.

The blue eyed child started to run towards her friend’s cage, what sparked inside terrified her. The Jūbi’s eye was glowing in rage, his teeth shining with spit, and his ten tails smacking against his confinement. On instinct, Narumi backed up, but stopped herself before she could run away. Balling her fists, she thought to herself, “This is my friend. Friends help each other and Jūbi-san needs my help… But how?

“Jūbi-san…” The four yelled out, walking towards the cage, “What’s wrong?” Every instinct in her puny body told her to run, to flee, but she held her ground. She took a step… then another and another, through the bars of the cage and entered the room with a thrashing beast inside. She stepped shyly over to the Jūbi’s large legs. Her hand was shaking in fear as she stared up at her friend, the beast not noticing the girl.

“I hope nothing bad has happened. Please…” Slowly, Narumi placed her hand on the large creature’s leg. Everything in the wasteland stopped and the blonde thought she’d just disrupted the universe. The Jūbi had a look of confusion, staring at the cage with wonderment. Then, he glanced down. Narumi’s electric blue eyes met with a lone red eye. “Namikaze-chan?” The Jūbi mused, “When did you get here?”

“You’ve been ignoring me for a week… why?” Her voice wavered, showing how much that action made her feel, “Did I do something? Are you okay? What’s wrong?”

“The Rikudou Sennin told you I had been taken over by madness, didn’t he?” A nod, Well, I still have iansanity attacks, as Four liked to call them when he was still alive. They may have dimmed over the years, but it’s still there. I lose control of myself for a period of time and from what I’ve just heard, I was having an insanity attack for a week. I’m truly sorry, Namikaze-chan.”

    Narumi giggled, “That’s okay.

“Well, there is something I must discuss with you right now.” The beast stated, As I was having my insanity attack, you somehow stopped it. My mind is a little dazed as to what, but you managed to tame the attacks. How?

With a curious look, she spoke, “Huh? All I did was touch your leg and… I hoped that you would be okay. I don’t want to lose my friend.”

The Jūbi started to close his red eye, his jaw relaxed as he mused over the information. “Sunpō no sukuinushi.” He muttered, opening his eyes, “You are far too young to hold this information in…”

“I don’t understand what Sunpō no sukuinushi has to do with me.” Narumi sighed and crossed her arms, a pout on her lips, “I wish you wouldn’t keep secrets from me.”

“Namikaze-chan, I will tell you when the time is right and that time is not now.” The beast of ten tails grinned, “You may want to take your leave now due to your crazy siblings. They are poking you. Until then…”

“Until then…” Narumi grinned, waving as the darkness flooded into the cage, forcing the Jinchuuriki out into the world.

“Imouto.” A sweet, but whiny voice came into her ears as she opened her eyes, “Thank Kami you are finally awake. I thought Menma and I would have to make a prank to get you up.”

At the mere thought of a prank, the eldest of the three grinned. Menma chuckled, “Now I wish she didn’t wake up. I could just imagine the look on her face if we-”

“NAOMI! MENMA!” Kushina roared from downstairs, “If I hear either of you talk about pranks while you are in my house, so help me Kami, I will force your father to put you back in the academy!”

In the distant living room, Minato’s voice ran through, “DON’T BRING ME INTO THIS!”

“You were already into this the moment we got married!” The red haired beauty shouted back, “Hurry downstairs, breakfast is ready!” Narumi climbed out of bed as her older siblings left her room. She started to change into a long sleeved gray sweater and black shorts with equally black sandals. She walked down the stairs and into the kitchen where everyone was seated. Narumi quickly took her seat by the window.

“Well, sleepy head, you finally decided to get up?” Minato grinned, rubbing his nearly identical daughter’s hair. The young child giggled and smiled brightly at her father. She loved her family so much, too bad she was lying and keeping things from them.

“Oh! Menma! Did you hear?” Naomi shook with excitement.

“What?” The ravenette asked, his head cocked to the side.

Naomi grinned, “The Chunin exams are happening in less than six months! I’m so excited! During the last exams, my teammate was caught cheating and we were disqualified. I can’t wait to get back in there.”

“Wow!” Menma practically shouted, “Well, my team and I have been genin from only a week and a half, but six more months should be enough for us to get missions together to participate. Right dad?”

With a mouth full of food, Minato nodded and swallowed, “Though, I’m not allowed to give away potential evidence of the Chunnin exams, but I am allowed to tell you that you are correct.”

“Ah, the Chunin exams. How I’ve missed them. Four had failed his first time taking the test, but managed to become a Chūnin on his second try.” The ten tailed beast grinned, “I wonder if they still do the written and survival test. What about the tournament battle?

“I’ll ask.” Narumi stated back to his demon.

“The Chūnin exams?” Narumi questioned, “That would be the exams you take to become a Chūnin. A written and survival test then a tournament-like battle, right?”

“Where’d you hear that from?” Minato questioned.

The blonde Jinchuriki shrugged, “I read it somewhere.” For a second, a frown overtook her features. Her eyes were gray instead of the electrical blue that resembled her father’s. Her hair fell over these color ridden eyes and all that could be seen was that pitiful frown. Though, this was just a second. Her frown was gone and was replaced by a smile.

This small action didn’t pass Narumi’s parents. Kushina and Minato looked down at their child in worry as she started a conversation with her older siblings. The woman looked into her husband’s eyes, mentally telling him about their daughter’s condition. He nodded and grinned down at him. “Hey Narumi?” Minato smiled, “I want to talk to you for a second.”

“Okay.” Minato’s replica responded, her food having already been long gone. Hopping out of her seat, she started to walk into the living. The Hokage followed his youngest child. Once seated on the loveseat, Narumi looked into her father’s eyes, “You wanted to talk?”

He nodded, “Is there something bothering you? You’ve been a little distant. If there is something you need to tell me, I’m all ears.”

“No sir.” Narumi shook her head and tilted her head, deciding to change the subject, “When am I going to go to the academy?”

“Next year. You must be at the minimum age of five before you can get into the academy.” Minato chuckled, “Sorry sweetheart!”

“Hey Narumi!” Menma shouted, a grin on his face, “What to go hang out with my team? Mom said it was okay as long as I keep an eye on you!”

The only blonde child flashed him  smile, “Yeah! Can I ride on your back?”

Menma crouched down, “Sure thing, hurry up or I’m going to be late.” Narumi waltzed up to her older brother and climbed onto his back. He fastened his arms around her puny legs and started to walk out of the house. He flashed his mother a smile, “Later!”

“What are we doing?” Narumi asked after the two had left the house and started zooming through the village to one of the many training grounds.

“I’m supposed to be doing a few teamwork exercises and chakra control training. It might be boring, you don’t mind tending to yourself?” The ravenette asked, glancing at his sister out of the corner of his eye.

She shook her head, “No. I’ll find something to do. I won’t be bored.” Internally, she was already gazing into his demon’s red eye and grinning like an idiot.

“Menma!” A feminine voice called out once the two landed into a clearing. The two looked over to see a girl running towards them. The girl had a thigh high blue dress with a golden dragon circling around it. She had blue shinobi sandals on with a black headband around her throat. She had long, brown hair that was braided and folded over her shoulder. Her bangs were clipped off towards the sides to show off the most peculiar eyes Narumi had ever seen; they were white!

“A Hyūga.” The Jūbi spoke quietly.

“Aren’t they the people with the byakugan?” Narumi questioned. The Jūbi simply nodded.

“Hey!” Menma set down her sister, who slightly clung to his pants leg, “This is my sister, Narumi. Narumi, this is Livia.”

Stepping out from behind the boy, she stood still as a small smile pulled at the corners of her lips, “Hi Livia-chan.”

“Livia…-chan?” The girl blinked a few times.

Narumi’s brother started laughing, “Man! Did you have to break her?”

“Break her?” The blonde quickly looked over at Livia. She was turning red in the face and Narumi had only seen her mother do that after his father said something that she didn’t understand. The girl before her started to stutter out words that the girl couldn’t understand.

“Woah, guys, who’s the kid?” A voice sounded from the blonde’s left. Narumi looked in the direction and saw a boy. He was very lanky with black hair that was tied into a bun. He had spiky bangs, which half of it covered one of his eyes. He wore a black shirt with a red and white paddle on the shoulders and back. He had white knee long shorts with black shinobi sandals. He had a blue headband wrapped around his hips.

“An Uchiha… this is an interesting team.” The demon commented.

Narumi internally nodded to him, “Yeah, they have the sharingan. Mama was talking about it a few months ago. She has a friend who’s an Uchiha. I’ve never met her though.”

“Ray, this is my little sister.” He motioned to the small child standing in front of him, “Naruto, this is Ray, my teammate.”

“Hello, Ray-kun.” Narumi grinned, looking up at the three teenagers.

“Ray-kun?” The boy asked, pointing to himself.

“He called me Livia-chan earlier.” The brunette smirked, “Wonder what she’s going to call sensei.”

“Who are you talking about?” A deep voice called out, a man appearing in the middle of everyone. His hair was wild and bleach looking blonde, almost white. His eyes were an orange, much different than the people around here. His black headband was wrapped tightly around his left arm. He wore black skinny jeans and had a long sleeved white shirt with a green Jounin vest over it. He had simple combat boots on.

“We’re talking about blondie over there.” Ray stated bluntly, pointing at Narumi.

    “Menma?” Their sensei questioned.

“Oh right, sorry!” He sheepishly giggled, “This is my sister, Narumi.”

“Hello, Narumi.” The older man grinned evilly, kneeling down to his level, “My name’s Fuzen.”

The blonde child blinked a few times, her smile already a mile away. She cocked her head to the side and blinked once again. The team thought that the kid was going to be running away soon screaming that their sensei was scary. Narumi walked a little closer with wide eyes, “Wow...”

“Hm?” The four all questioned, staring curiously at the girl.

“Hey Menma?” She stated innocently, looking away from their sensei.

    “What is it?” He asked.

Pointing at Fuzen, the girl smiled happily, “Can I get my hair dyed like his?”

Stifling a laugh, Menma shrugged, “Why would you want hair like Fuzen-sensei?”

Throwing her hands in the air, Narumi grinned, “He’s so cool looking! Wow! His eyes are so cool and dangerous! I love it!”

Ray couldn’t help the laugh that came out of him and when he started, he couldn’t stop. Livia chuckled and put a hand over her mouth before speaking, “Well, Fuzen-sensei, looks like you owe us all twenty bucks!”

“Why does Fuz-san have to pay you guys?” Narumi cocked her head to the side and stared up at them all.

“Well, a few days ago, Fuz-sensei said that every kid under ten hated him. All of us are eleven or twelve, so we don’t count. The three of us betted that there is a kid out there that likes him.” Ray grinned as Fuzen started fishing out money for the growing teenagers, “How old are you? Five? Six? Well, we obviously won because you keep gawking over him!” The kids chuckled.

“Their sensei is very low on money. I’d say he had about ten or fifteen dollars. I can sense the anxiety and stress pooling off of him.” The Jūbi called out sadly.

Pouting slightly, Narumi’s eyes darkened, “That’s so sad. My brother and his teammates aren’t very nice to their sensei.”

“It’s not that their not nice, as you so kindly put it, Namikaze-chan.” His demon responded, closing his lone eye, “They just don’t notice that their sensei is suffering.” Narumi frowned at this. The laughing died down when they saw this.

“Now what’s gotten your underwear in a wad?” Menma huffed.

“You don’t notice, do you, Anki?” The blonde child stated sadly, walking up to Fuzen who was still looking through his wallet to find the money, “You don’t have to pay Menma… Fuz-san. He gets a monthly allowance from Da-Da and Mama. He always spends it the day he gets it.”

“Narumi!” Said boy cried out, “That’s personal.”

Ignoring him, she looked up at Fuzen, “How many missions have you guys gone on? All D-ranked missions because they’re still new genin?”

“We’ve gone on four D-ranked missions.” Fuzen stated, “Why?”

“I’m guessing that you only get paid twenty to thirty dollars per D-ranked mission and you have to split that between four people.” Naruto said, “You only get about five or six dollars per mission. You are an adult and I’m sure you have a family to take care of, so, you have to buy things like food and such to help your family.”

Shocked, their sensei slowly nodded, “I’m sorry… Menma. Ray. Livia. I only have three dollars in my wallet and Narumi, you are correct. My elderly father and my niece live with me. I’ve been trying to keep them fed and clothed.”

Suddenly, the teammates looked really guilty. Ray was looking on with wide eyes, glancing at nothing in particular. Livia was on the verge of tears and Menma, well, he was looking at the ground. The three had wanted to learn nothing from their sensei and supposed friend. “Keep your money to feed your family.” Ray quietly stated.

    “Yeah… we… we didn’t know. I’m s-sorry!” Livia’s voice shook.

“Can you forgive us?” Menma asked, his raven locks blocking her eyes.

Fuzen grinned, “Of course I can! Now, stop mopping, we’ve got training to do!” The three cheered with great enthusiasm and started to get to work. Narumi found a good spot at the base of a tree and sat down, ready to converse with his demon.

“I love helping people. Thanks for giving me the information, Jūbi-san.” She grinned internally.

“You’re welcome, Namikaze-chan but you put it all together in a reasonable statement. Great job.” A smirk lit up on the telepathic beast’s face, “Why don’t we join your brother and train a little ourselves?”

“What? How can we train, I don’t know anything.” Narumi furrowed her eyebrows.

The Jūbi shook his large head, “I said earlier that I can feel emotions, didn’t eye. Well, I can also tell when someone is lying or telling the truth. I’d been wanting to share this gift with someone. Want to try?”

She nodded her head, “Where do I start?”

“Well…” The Jūbi started to explain.

After a few hours of mental training, the blonde may have gotten it. She powered his chakra into her mind, which had been explained by the Jūbi, and closed her eyes. She pushed a wave of chakra out, letting it blanket the cleared area of the training ground. She could feel the presence of Menma’s team, the four training together.

“Good job. I want you to push your chakra into someone’s body slowly… there you go! Now, what do you feel?” The Jūbi asked Narumi.

“Frustration... and anger. It’s coming from Menma.” Narumi’s eyebrows titled together as the connection broke off in a hurry, “Whew! My mind is beat. Thanks for showing me how to do that. You’re the greatest friend a girl could have!”

“Friend? I’m your friend?” The demon stated, confusion lacing his words.

The blonde Jinchuriki grinned internally, “Of course you are. What did you think you were to me?”

    “A burden.”

“You could never be a burden to me. I care a lot about you.” Narumi said sincerely.

“Narumi!” Her brother called out. He glanced up. “Hey, it’s time to go. Mom wanted us back before dinner.” Narumi stood up as Menma was saying goodbye to his teams. “Well, squirt, let’s go home.” He smiled down at her as they started onward.

The walk to the house was silent and it was quick and easy. They arrived at their house fairly quickly, Narumi being on her brother’s back the whole time, and entered the front door. “Da-Da! Mama!” The blonde child called out, hopping off of Menma’s back and ran through the house.

“We’re in here.” Kushina yelled from upstairs. She grinned and ran towards them, pacing quickly up the stairs with her tiny legs. Narumi was in the room only a few seconds after the words had left her mouth and Kushina couldn’t help, but laugh. “Hey, did you have fun with your brother?”

“Yeah! His sensei is so cool!” She commented, grinning from ear to ear, “I even trained a little myself!”

“Narumi Uzumaki-Namikaze!” Her mother yelled, “What have I said about training? I said that you weren’t allowed to train until you got into the academy.”

“What about training?” Minato questioned, poking his head out of his room.

“Yeah. What training were you doing?” Menma asked, reaching the top of the stairs.

Kushina’s rage drifted over to her second child, “Was your team training her? You know the rule! Were they?”

As Menma, Kushina, and Minato conversed/yelled about why their daughter had been training, the Jūbi was talking to his jailor. “I think we can get around this.” He stated, trying to calm the girl who was freaking out.

“They’re going to know and I’m going to end up like Rona! I don’t want to die. What do I do?” She moaned internally in agony, “Please tell me what to do!”

“Tell them the truth about your training, but leave out the part about where I taught you it.” The Jūbi said, “Tell them that you read it somewhere and decided to try it out. Trust me.”

    “Okay.”

“Minato! We promised each other that our kids wouldn’t train till they get in the academy.” Kushina wailed, her arms stiffly beside her, “He-”

“Mama!” Narumi yelled, gaining the three’s attention, “I was trying something out. It wasn’t going to involve me fighting or get me hurt. I promise!”

“What type of training were you doing?” She asked, her teeth stuck together. She obviously felt very strongly about her children becoming ninja who could potentially die in battle.

She looked her directly in her eyes, “I was training my mind. I’ve learned how to tell if someone is lying or what their feeling emotionally.”

“That’s impossible…” Minato murmured quietly, “How do you do it.”

“Um… I don’t know how to put it into words. How about we play two truths and a lie? Give three statements: two truths and one lie.” Narumi nodded, “These events have to take place before I was born.”

“When I was a kid, I met this man who gave me a golden sword. I had a kitten when I was four, but he ran away.” Kushina stopped to think a little more, “I hated my clan at one point.”

“Your lie is that you had a kitten when you were four.” He stated.

“Mom? You hated the Uzumaki clan?” Menma questioned, startled.

She nodded sadly, “Yes. I was a teenager and my mind wasn’t in the right place.”

“My turn, I guess. I never expected to be Hokage. I once had a crush on my teacher. I thought about running away from Konoha when I was younger.” Minato stated.

Shrugging, the blond child smirked, “Your lie is that you thought about running away from Konoha and you had a crush on your teacher! Think you could put two lies in there!”

“How did you do that?” Menma excitedly asked.

“I would also like to know. It isn’t something the Uzumaki or the Namikaze are able to do.” Her father said thoughtfully.

“Hey!” Naomi smiled, interrupting the conversation, “Dad? Have you seen my katana?”

“I’m not sure, need some help looking for it?” Minato looked over at his oldest daughter.

She breathed a sigh of relief and grinned, “Thank you! I’ve been searching for it for the past hour or two. My team and I have a C-ranked mission tomorrow. I’d rather be on the safe side.” Minato and Naomi left the upstairs hallway to look for her weapon.

Kushina blinked in confusion, until realization hit her, “MY CASSEROLE!” She bolted down the stairs into the slightly smoking kitchen. A series of curses were heard not even a second later.

Menma groaned, “Looks like its burnt casserole again.”

“I think I prefer the burnt casserole over the real thing.” Narumi shrugged, “Thanks for taking me to see your team train.”

“Your welcome.” He grinned down at me before leaving.

“That… was close.” The blonde mentally smiled before heading to her room to draw in a notebook or read something.
