"Will somebody please tell me what's going on?!" Sapnap exclaims, frustrated. Dream is the first one of us to speak up.
"George isn't leaving Florida, he's going to live here with me! So he needs a visa, and I'm marrying him so he can get one," he explains proudly, chin up. He's full of himself, but in a way that makes you want to laugh. Dream is, for lack of a better word, goofy. And I love that about him.
God, this man has me falling faster than I could've ever predicted.
George's P.O.V.
It had been a few days since Dream and I had agreed to get married, and things were really looking up. I was able to sort things out with my landlord, and he was glad to help me get my stuff shipped to Florida. I ended up selling most of my possessions, only getting my PC and wardrobe shipped overseas. I didn't really need the rest of it, none of it meant anything to me. My apartment was cleaned out and, from what I heard, already resold. It all felt awfully quick to me, but what do I know about real estate?
My stuff was supposed to arrive any day now, and I was hoping it would show up by Monday. Sapnap and Karl were set to leave Sunday night, and I was really hoping to have something to occupy myself once they were gone. Honestly, the thought of being alone with Dream was a bit nerve-wracking.
Don't get me wrong, he's been nothing short of amazing the whole time I've been here. But now that I'm a permanent guest in his house, I fear that friendliness will wear off. He might grow tired of me, or notice something that annoys him, or ignore my existence... and I don't want to lose Dream. Not ever.
It may be weird to hear that, considering he was willing to commit marriage fraud just so I could be his roommate. But feelings can change pretty quickly, especially when you spend every day with a person. And I just didn't want this to divide us.
~
On Saturday afternoon, Dream and I went down to the town hall, accompanied by Sapnap and Karl. All the paperwork was done, we just had to get legally married and apply for a visa. Simple enough. Before we got out of the car, Dream spoke up.
"Hey, George?" Dream looked somewhat unsure of himself, fiddling with his hands behind his back. "I know this is just a fake marriage and all, but I thought maybe... well, I got you this." He brings his hand forward, opening his fist to reveal a smooth, silver ring. I gasp softly, looking at it, then back up at Dream.
"Do you like it?" He questions, glancing to the side. His cheeks seem a bit darker than usual. "I got the same one for myself." He holds the ring in between his fingers, looking me in the eyes. "May I?" I nod slowly, offering up my hand. He takes it gently, slipping the ring onto my finger. It fits perfectly, and I admire it with awe.
"Dream..." God, I want to kiss him, I think, blushing a little at the thought. This boy had me hooked...
"I just thought we should have rings, y'know? Oh, and we'll have to act like a couple, so nobody suspects anything, okay? I don't know if we'll have to kiss or not to make it official, but I'm willing to do it if you are," Dream shrugs. My mouth feels oddly dry and I'm struggling to form words.
"Uh... y-yeah..." I mumble, spinning the ring on my finger. He eyes it, tilting his head.
"Does it fit okay? I did my best with measurements." I look up, nodding quickly.
"It's perfect," I say truthfully. He smiles, eyes crinkling with happiness.
"Ahem." Sapnap clears his throat, reminding us both of the other people in the car. "If you two lovebirds are done sucking each other's dicks, can we go inside now? It's starting to get hot," he complains. Dream just rolls his eyes, still smiling.
"Nobody's stopping you from going inside," the blond points out. "Why don't you and Karl go wait for us? We'll be right out, I just want to talk to George about something really quick." He glances down at me, adding: "If that's okay."
"Yeah, sure," I agree, nodding. Sapnap opens the door quickly, Karl doing the same. They walk into the building together, and I'm left in the car with Dream. Just the two of us.
"So, George..."
"Yeah?" I'm curious about what he wants to talk about in private, but I can't help but feel a twinge of anxiety in the pit of my stomach.
"I don't know. I just wanted Sapnap to stop complaining," he chuckles dryly, avoiding eye contact. "I just... need a moment to relax before getting married, I guess."
"Are you nervous?" I ask quietly, finally looking at him. Dream bites his lip, staring at his lap.
"Yeah. Yeah, I guess I am." He says it with a bit of a laugh behind his voice. "God, George... this is such a big deal... I mean, we're getting married..."
"We are," I murmur. We're sitting in the front seats, and I suddenly have a burst of confidence. "Here, let's move to the back seat." He raises an eyebrow, but doesn't protest, and we both move to the back seat of his car. "I'm nervous too," I admit, leaning my head against his shoulder.
"I can't even imagine how scary this whole thing must be for you," he sighs. "I mean, here I am getting all nervous about getting married, and you're going through the same thing... but also a huge transition from living in England to living in Florida," he sighs. "You're so brave, George. You never cease to amaze me." His voice is low and quiet, but he seems to mean his words.
"Thank you," I squeak, feeling rather red in the face. I'm glad he can't see how much I'm blushing right now.
"I know I've said this before, but I really am excited about you moving in with me," he says wistfully. "Having you here with Karl and Sap has been so much fun, and I don't want it to ever end. I don't want anybody to leave." He pauses for a moment, and I feel an arm wrap around my shoulders. "And now you're staying, and I'm even more excited..." Dream shakes his head. "It's weird to think that we only just met in person for the first time two weeks ago, and now we're moving in together." I hum in agreement.
"Well, we've known each other for years. I know pretty much everything about you," I point out. "It's not that weird."
"Oh, you know everything about me?" His tone switches to a more playful one and even though I can't see his face, I imagine he's smiling. "What color are my eyes?"
"Asshole," I mutter, biting back a grin. "They're green."
"You really do know everything, don't you?" He teases, soft wheezy laughs filling the silence. "Are you ready to go in?"
"Yeah," I exhale slowly, sitting up to look at him. "Let's go... get married." We get out of the car, walking up the steps to the town hall. I must've stopped walking, because Dream takes my hand and tugs at it gently.
"It's okay," he murmurs, and just hearing his voice is comforting. I take a deep breath as we walk up the steps together, hand in hand. Inside, Sapnap and Karl are sitting on a bench, and amazingly there's nobody else waiting. We get right to it, handing over the paperwork and signing an official marriage certificate.
"Alright, congrats on your marriage. The visa processing usually takes five to ten months, and you'll be contacted as soon as the visa is secured. Have a nice day." And just like that, it's over. Strange, I don't feel any different, even though I'm now, officially, Dream's husband. Now that's a weird thought.
"That was scarily easy," Dream notes, and I have to agree. Who knew getting married could be so simple?
"That didn't take long," Sapnap observed, looking up from where he and Karl are sitting. I nod, shrugging.
"Yeah, we can go home now. I still don't know why you two wanted to come, but we're done." All four of us walk to the car, getting back in the seats we sat in on the way here. Sapnap hadn't even fought me on sitting shotgun, and I had a feeling it had to do with Karl. Not that I minded.
"We should get McDonald's," Karl suggests.
"YES."
"Sure, okay." Dream drives us all to the closet McDonald's, while I try to figure out a plan. The drive is short, and I don't have enough time to think. Guess I'll wing it, then.
"Welcome to McDonald's, what'll it be today?" Dream lists off what he, Karl, and Sapnap wanted, then looks to me expectantly.
"George?"
"Um... no thanks, I'm not hungry," I reply quickly, shaking my head. He shrugs, turning back and ordering an extra thing of fries.
"That'll be all, thank you." Dream is incredibly polite, and I feel a swell of pride for whatever reason. He's a good person.
"Thank you, come again!" Bags of food are handed over, Sapnap and Karl searching through the bags and taking their stuff first before sending the rest up to Dream. He immediately reaches into the bag and picks up a bag of french fries, handing them to me with a smile. I take them hesitantly, not sure what to do.
"I know you said you weren't hungry, but you should probably eat something. It's lunchtime," he explains with a shrug. I stare at him, then at the small packet of fries in my hand. I must admit, they smell amazing... it couldn't hurt, right?
~
I sat over the toilet, breathing heavily.
It was just a few fries.
Fat.
It wasn't a big deal.
Ugly.
It's fine.
Weak.
My brain argues back and forth as I sit, poised with my hand in front of my lips. My body is trembling, even though I haven't actually done anything yet. I feel pathetic.
And, just like that, I'm pushed over the edge, shoving my fingers down my throat and gagging uncomfortably for a moment before the fries are out of me. Everything hurts, my throat feels like it's on fire and my stomach gurgles unhappily. I flush it down, washing my hands and drinking some of the water from the faucet.
My reflection in the mirror glares back at me, dark eye circles standing out against unhealthily pale skin. Disgusting.
"Hey, George?" It was Sapnap. "Um, are you almost done in there? I need to take a shit, and Dream locked everyone out of the upstairs bathroom by accident, so..."
"Yeah, be out in a minute." I wince at the sound of my voice. It's hoarse, scratchier than it usually should be.
"Uh... okay..." He sounded unsure. I opened the door, walking out and letting him in. "Thanks, man!" He closes the door quickly, and I walk into the living room to rest for a minute.
"Hey, George," Karl greets quietly, yawning. He's laying against the arm of the couch, half-asleep.
"Hi Karl." I sit opposite him, leaning on the other arm of the couch with a sigh. I should've just gone upstairs, but now I didn't want to move. I close my eyes, hearing footsteps approach me minutes later.
"George, yo-" Dream cuts himself off. "Oh... you're sleeping." I feel myself get lifted into the air, getting carried up the stairs. Dream sets me in bed, tucking me in with a soft murmur and a gentle kiss on the forehead. The door squeaks, meaning Dream closed it, and I fall into a peaceful sleep.
~
When I wake up, I don't recognize my surroundings right away. I wasn't in the guest room, as I had previously thought, but in Dream's room. I looked around at all the shelves, gaze falling on a few fanarts of him and I together. I couldn't help but smile, Dream was so committed to his fans, and it was the sweetest thing.
But I should let him have his bed back. I blushed a little, knowing I had been sleeping in Dream's bed– what is wrong with me? I can't be thinking this way about my best friend.
With a sigh, I stand up, waiting out the head rush that I've come to know. Trudging down the hall to the guest room, I see a light on.
"Dream...?" I mumble, rubbing my eyes. There he is, putting something together... wait-
"Is that my PC?" Dream rubs the back of his neck sheepishly, nodding.
"Yeah, I was going to surprise you with it built, but I'm not finished yet..." I smile, sitting down next to him.
"I can help, then. How much did you get to?" Dream did about half of it on his own, and with my help, we finish up fairly quickly. And just like that, my PC is back in my room, where it belongs- the only difference being that now, my room is in Florida.
That ending was kinda dumb ngl
butthis chapter was REALLY long so it balances out
